Because Reanimal looks more like little nightmares than LN3 does. And probably people expect that LN3 will expand on the story of the first 2 and not be just a game with the LN title.

just watched both trailers back to back. i’m not super familiar with little nightmares but i’ve seen enough gameplay to get the vibes. LN3 and Reanimal both feel like games similar to at least the original little nightmares, just… branching off in different directions, ig? Reanimal is def claustrophobic and dark like the first LN, LN3 seems more open for sure and leaning more towards Takes Two in terms of the coop mechanics and special items but it still has the vibe imho, just in a different setting

Pretty Sad there is no couch co-op. Me and my wife are huge fans of the little nightmares franchise so we were excited to hear it was co-op only to be later disappointed to hear it is online only. At least Reanimals will have local co-op for us to play together.

The problem with handing the mantle to a new studio is that they will try their best to make it just like the original. While the creators would have evolved the gameplay. The difference between this and tarsier's reanimal is noticeable.

It was expected. Damn shame. This has none of the medieval victorian gothic horror of the predecessors! Supermassive just dont know their horror simple as that. Looks like they can't recreate its atmosphere, ennemies and the whole vibe and are taking it more into an adventure/puzzles direction. Reanimal on the other hand literally looks like the real LN3.
The thing that I'm not so sure about this one is that the kids look like experts in surviving in their environment, they already have those tools and weapons and seem like they are very capable of defending themselves. What really connected me to the original was that Six was very vulnerable and ill-suited in her environment, made players care and connect with the kid.
They did describe the new main characters as if they were veterans of the nightmare world. I’d say they are still vulnerable though, as they can only defend themselves from smaller enemies

Little Nightmares carries a certain expectation, and handing it to a new studio is going to cause suspicion and comparisons to the work of the original devs. Meanwhile, ReAnimal, being made by the original devs, is very close to the same overall style of Little Nightmares, capturing the same atmosphere of feeling small, the same grotesque adult-looking things, the same kind of movement and puzzle solving focus. Comparisons are inevitable.

We know why the world of little nightmares is the way it is. It's stated in the podcast "the sounds of nightmares". I'd highly recommend it, it's genuinely an incredible piece of work, and it's connected to little nightmares 3. This game is most likely not going to feature either Six or Mono, it's a new story with new characters in new environments!

Yo lo único que quería es saber lo que pasaba después que Six saliera de las Fauces o saber porque el mundo de little nightmares es como es. Es por eso que esta nueva entrega me deja con muchas inseguridades. Por que eso significa, en el mejor de los casos, esperar más tiempo para saberlo y en el peor, es que nunca vuelvan a retomarlo 😢
We know why the world of little nightmares is the way it is. It's stated in the podcast "the sounds of nightmares". I'd highly recommend it, it's genuinely an incredible piece of work, and it's connected to little nightmares 3.
This game is most likely not going to feature either Six or Mono, it's a new story with new characters in new environments!
