    Thanks for these tackle tips. I was on your three day that Just got back yesterday. With everything going on towards the end, I was not able to thank you for the job you and your crew did. The fishing was tough, but I still managed to come away with a limit of rock cod and a few yellowtail. This was my third trip on the Legend And none of them have disappointed You and your crew run a tight ship. Already looking forward to the next one.

      Definitely a bit of tough fishing, but glad you had some fish to take home! We always try our best & sometimes the fish just don’t cooperate… We appreciate you coming out & are so glad to hear you had a good experience once again. Looking forward to having you back out!

    I have 60lb mono top shot on my sinker rig and use 60-100lb fluoro leader. Do you think it would be better to just run 80lb mono top shot?

    I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a ruclips.net/user/postUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.

    Which set up do the guys on the Legend use most?

    Going to use my Avet JX6/3 for my sinker rig. Should I go 65lb braid with 80 mono or 60 mono. ?

    • @FishTheLegend

      If it’s a raptor, 65 braid to 50 or 60 mono is gonna pretty much top out the capabilities of that jx. If it’s a standard model, it really is more fit to fish in the 40 lb line class. A hx or even an lx would be a better choice for sinker rig, especially right now with the big fish we’re seeing.

    Thanks for sharing that information. What leader grade would you recommend

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  Год назад

      Typically you want to use heavier line when you’re fishing at depth. On smaller fish 50-60, larger fish 80-100!

    If you use a sinker rig could also then switch to a jig? Or the it’s the live bait that gets it.

      Usually put live bait on the sinker rig. As far as live bait vs jigs, just depends on the bite & conditions.

    Do you guys have a video showing how you want the knife jig setup on a night time 100lb setup. Using floro or mono. Thanks

      There’s a section in “tips for early season bluefin fishing” and then there’s a video at the beginning of “cat’s first triple digit tuna,” also the video “types of night jigs” goes over the the differences as well.
      If there’s any info still missing let us know 😊

    Have you heard of painting the sinker black? Due to the fact that sometimes the BFT eat the sinker itself.

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  Год назад

      We have lost fish to them eating the sinker, or sometimes going after the sinker instead of the bait and not getting hooked. So painting it black can help with that. On the other hand, some people use chrome sinkers to really attract the fish to the set up, then the hope is that they go for the bait. Personally I’d rather attract the fish and take the chance, but it’s ultimately however you want to fish. It can go both ways!
