I am SO sorry about the cinematic music… again. I gotta stop pushing the volume past it’s maximum 🐠

I love sponge filter cleaning day! I always end up with a whole 5gal bucket of that impenetrable sludge. Houseplants really do well with that water.

Fantastic newt you have! They don't ever mistaken the loaches for their lunch?😅

      A good note.
This was ultimately a test on compatibility between the newt and tropical fish-which unfortunately failed.
The newt was able to stalk and inflict enough damage for it to be fatal long-term; because of the tropical temperatures, the newt was not able to defend from any internal infections, and fell ill to a bacterial attack.
Not a good chapter, but much learned.

@@MattKeepsFish I'm sorry bro. That's unfortunate but at least now you know. We must all fail before progressing. All part of the process

@@MattKeepsFish So sorry to hear, we're keeping our ribbed newt with guppies, that's only succes as they like both cold water in winter, now he's become bigger arround 20 cm, and we're putting him in a 240 liter aquarium together with our 2 axelotls, don't know if this also will be a succes but all them need the space now.

@@hammie2012 It’s always a risk, but sometimes it works. You’ll never know unless you have the bravery to try.
Still good to be educated however. Remember that axolotls are cannibals, and if they get a good hold they’d take off a leg or a piece of tail.
