  • This is a complete build of the "Electric Port" custom guitar from scratch. For this model, I've used salvaged Mediterranean Cypress with ancient Judean Desert Acacia and wild rosewood. As always, I've made all of the hardware from brass and my own pickups (using the same specs of a '50 original lipstick pickups). I hope you'll enjoy watching this process, which demonstrates the long journey of building these custom handmade guitars.

That acacia top really sets off the look of the guitar, great choice.

It's amazing how much of the guitar's success is based on the delicate balance of tension 01:00

Thanks, I make these pickups using the original Alnico 6 with the correct size of an original lipstick from the 50s. The coil is the correct AWG 42 copper wire, and there is no bobbin, like the originals. The cover is made from thick brass, and as a nonmagnetic material, it doesn't interfere with the magnetic field. The result is a unique wide-range pickup that resembles nothing else. I personally like the in series positions which are warm and give a beautiful bell like tone
