U mite of not had a big bag but that is definitely the best filmed ferreting video iv ever seen compared 2 real life ferreting or a dvd or here youtube the way u filmed that was incredible bloody brilliant im guma subscribe ryt now I hope 2 see alot more ferreting vids very soon and I do hav 1 tip 4 ya tho fella always tuck sum of the net in the hole so the ring is well inside down the hole at bottom of the purse net then wen a rabbit bolts it will automatically fold up the net on itself then u shudent get any slipping the nets like u did at the beginning of the video
Thanks for the praise. These smaller warrens only hold a few rabbits but are much easier to film! The bigger the warren the more cameras I would need. I'd like to get another video out before the end of season, but no promises as I need to have luck on my side, otherwise will be next season.
I always push the bottom ring into the soil just inside the mouth of the hole,it gives a better chance of the rabbit hitting the middle of the purse and it will rarely slip the net it also helps keep the net in place when the ferret goes through it. Excellent video and very interesting to see the rabbits behaviour when being hunted they don't get panicked but seem to be very cautious about bolting.I always stress the need for a quiet approach and keeping out of the rabbits sightline, you should take care where your shadow falls as well!
Your video's are fantastic and i love watching them.I used to do a lot of ferreting where i live ( Victoria, Australia ) but because i have a young family and a couple of my kids got bitten i had to get rid of the ferrets for now. When the kids are old enough i will get back into it for sure. Keep up the good work
Thanks for posting these as I am just a poor "yank" but I used ot own a sable ferret many years ago... Of course hunting with ferrets is illegal. Just owning a ferret is illegal in many, many states and most places in Texas. I loved watching this as they acted/behaved exactly as I envisionsed my old ferret would in this situation. I esp. love the way she wants a piece of that bunny @ 14:25 !!
Interesting to watch. We too have a huge rabbet problem in this country but we also have a problem with ferrets who have decimated our native birds. It is illegal to keep or use them here for that reason.
When they get to the edge of the tunnel and he lowers them in all i can hear in my head is that part in Rick and Morty. "Oh boy! Here I go killing again!" lol

hi i was just wondering if you have a diet plan for your ferrets if so could you tell me cos im getting a ferret tomorrow he is a black eyed white and is a baby 8 weeks old thanks for all your help
another great vid boys, I wouldnt be so quick to dig, give them time. I havent had the need to dig one out in 50 years. What camera do you use? great results whatever it is, keep them coming
welshwizard822 Thanks. We rarely dig but we knew this was shallow/soft ground so was worth getting another rabbit for the bag. Mainly use a GoPro but have a few other cheap cameras for different angles.
They are called purse nets. I’m assuming your in the US if you are using mink? Can’t see them on the US eBay but try eBay.co.uk might just pay a bit extra shipping. Nylon are cheaper but your better with polyester, like mine, they don’t tangle as much. My yellows are 3ft long and my reds are 4ft. Is this for muskrats? If so you may want a smaller mesh size than what I use.
When they get around a net or away from the ferret seems an awfully nice time to have an air rifle... just pick off the coney from up to 50 yds away...
Scotland. I'd have a lot more videos if there were lots of populated holes like that! haha. Easy to film... so I guess that's what people get to see here. Loads of hedgerow/bush warrens in reality.
i saw that you had to dig a hole to extract 1 ferret. is this common? Can they be buggers to get out? Another question also. I know stoats can hold their own against a snake but what about ferrets? The reason i ask is because those are big holes and I'm sure snakes love to prey on hide down there. Thanks for your time
i am getting some ferrets and just wanted to pick some brains about health care as far as injections go do they need any? i know they should have a rabies shot but how long does it last ? also if they need any tablets medication for general care every month or what ever i would like to know. thanks Matt
Never given mine a rabies shot but I'm in the UK, may be different elsewhere. It's recommended to vaccinate against canine distemper but optional. No regular tablets or anything unless they get sick in which case a vet will guide you. Mine get a little bit of vitamin paste every so often but again not compulsory. Would be a good idea to search what a ferret needs in it's diet.
i am also in the uk but i know nothing to do with ferreting other than the hunting side of it what about flees i would imagine they would get them and i looked at a video of pet care the other day and they get heart worm but i don't know weather its necessary of course i don't want them to suffer but they will only be for working anyway. Does it cost alot for injections like for the canine distemper?
Not sure how much the distemper injections would cost as mine haven't been done. What can cost is bringing your jills out of season, there's a few methods to do this. For fleas I use 'spot on' for cats. Best thing to do is search and read the available information online.
for fleas ticks and worms I use beaphar spot on , always works for me , a lot of others use advocate , anyway no need for injections I found and been working ferrets for the last 25 years or so , unless I suppose they will be around dog kennels that can bring the disease in , diet wise fresh meat kibble and raw eggs is all they ask for and love , I personally keep the kibble dish full and feed fresh meat a few times a week and give them egg a couple of times a week , never work a hungry ferret I have found over the years , more likely to stay on a kill and eat and sleep , unless you want to dig all day of course , hope that helps
видео хорошее, но хотя бы музыку наложили бы, просто тишина) да я понимаю что на охотку говорить нельзя, но модно было бы наложить свой голос , с описанием)
well that first set being a 3 hole your first ferret obviously don't work deep enough yet and put the pressure on for a bolt ,camera work though is superb, 2 ferrets on a 3 hole set though is begging for a kill ,and why 1 net for 2 holes when its just as easy to put 2 nets on? I get that its easier for the ferrets to move from one hole to the other but its much easier for the rabbit to slip the net? don't mind me though im set in me ways lol
Yes Enyo doesn't always go deep enough or shift the stubborn ones well. Athena's more of a pro and I've found she can sometimes move the rabbit the other can't. The 5ft nets are new, just wanted to give them a try.
U mite of not had a big bag but that is definitely the best filmed ferreting video iv ever seen compared 2 real life ferreting or a dvd or here youtube the way u filmed that was incredible bloody brilliant im guma subscribe ryt now I hope 2 see alot more ferreting vids very soon and I do hav 1 tip 4 ya tho fella always tuck sum of the net in the hole so the ring is well inside down the hole at bottom of the purse net then wen a rabbit bolts it will automatically fold up the net on itself then u shudent get any slipping the nets like u did at the beginning of the video

ok fella cool hope 2 see more ferreting vids in the future then
Ohh god, that was worded absolutely terrible.
Yes mate I have got to agree. Your filming is brilliant. Good luck this season.
Also. Tuck the bottom ring Into the ground. Helps to avoid net slips and helps net purse up better pal
I always push the bottom ring into the soil just inside the mouth of the hole,it gives a better chance of the rabbit hitting the middle of the purse and it will rarely slip the net it also helps keep the net in place when the ferret goes through it. Great to watch brings back good memories, we used to have a second net already pegged on each hole to save time on second bolter 👍

Thanks! Great experience for kids, I was gifted a ferret as a child, and here we are....

SUPER!
I wonder if this can be used for hunting ground hogs in America.
More likely to put up more of a fight, would need the toughest of ferrets. Joseph Carter and his mink would be more suitable, he’s on RUclips too
Found you through the ferret forum 😁
Hi! May i ask, why not let those two to team up? They cover alot of ground. Why only one at a time? Great videos looking forward for more
Why don't they post more videos?

Some rabbits failed to appear, so we put a Warren out on them and now for the hunt.. and as always, Enyo & Athena get on the j-o-b.
Oh yeah and fab vid
Hope you are going to do some more vids this year as the ones from last year are top.
+markmason13 Hope to. Keep getting rained off whenever I have a day off work for it. Sure Ill manage something.
+Zeus Polecat Cool, I have only been two times so far this year as weathers been all over the place.
Nice video well worth watching where do you get you purse nets from in the bright colours ?
People from the hunting life forum sell the polyester nets. Best material imo
Get a mini collar cam and put it on the ferrets so we can see their POv
How do they get these cameras into these holes lool
TOP-Vid!
I love that box carrier for your ferrets where did you get it
Build it lol

Pretty hard to hit a running Coney with an air rifle, that's what lurchers are for.
@Deqster An air rifle is useless unless the target is stationary, a shotgun in relatively small note like a .410 or a 20 bore is much more useful.
QUALITY.... :-)
just wondering mate what county are u from cos i ferret but im from cumbria an your extremely lucky to find holes in fields like those
Scotland. I'd have a lot more videos if there were lots of populated holes like that! haha. Easy to film... so I guess that's what people get to see here. Loads of hedgerow/bush warrens in reality.

I love your videos, as I am from another country that eats rabbits I ask: what is done with the rabbits slaughtered by the ferret?
Thanks! The ferret only damages the neck area so the meat is still in good condition.
