- Out with the ferrets on a new permission. we caught 11 in about 3 hours. Bolted 7 and dug out 4, 3 of which were in one dig. We also lost 2 but they'll be there for another day, these things happen.

Good to see the older man still enjoying ferreting, loved by kids to the old folk.. he’s not soft with a spade to 👍🏼
Yeah my dad doesn't do to bad to say he's 70. 👍

Good on him, hopefully many more years at it to...
great video mate, good teamwork to
Another good vid tom. Thought you stopped making them for a spell. Cant wait to see more. All the best
Dave
I've just not been as much this season. Think this was only our 5th time since the start of September. I've been shooting a lot more than I've been catching with the ferrets.
I started laughing when the ferret started running away
They all would if they got the chance 😂
Stop it
Aye he's his hands in his pockets class
@@ruralpestcontrol lol
Thanks for posting enjoyed that Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Great video. Still been a while since your last, I thought you had stopped. That dig looked like a pain n the arse
The dig wasn't too bad it's all sand and only about 3' deep (had worse lol) and worth it for 3 rabbits.
Subscribed 👍 Great video lads
Thanks 👍
Brilliant, I'm in Suffolk, don't do much now cos of poor health and my pal passed away, I miss him and ferreting, still shoot when I can on our old haunts, keep doing the vid's for us please.
Sorry about your pal, that must be really poo ☹️. Have you not looked for someone else you could go with, even if was just to tag along ?
@@ruralpestcontrol thanks for that, yes I've asked about, the only ones interested are as old as me, we've got too many holiday homes and bunny huggers in our village. The year before my mate died you wouldn't believe how many times we were shouted at, all were walking in private wood and fields and we were doing our job !!
@@raymitchell4220 yeah I'm afraid that happens a lot all over the country not just where you are.
@@raymitchell4220 yep bunny huggers bunch of leftie idiots who think bunnies are sweet…they cannot see the damage they do to crops and environment…rose tinted idiots shame we aren’t allowed to put the ferrets on them….lol
Вот это охота. Ни тебе ружья, ни тебе собаки. Лайк! А где столько кроликов водится?
Great video
Thanks 👍

Rural Pest Control Whitwell and it is big help nice one.
Good joop Gilles
Very good work
Thanks 👍
Really great
Thanks
great video, how do you get your permission? im struggling to get on any decent land
Knock on doors, word of mouth, people I know, varies really. I got these few fields cause its next door to somewhere I already have. I got another permission last night when I called into a local pub to pick up a take away.
I would be like the older gentleman
Rural pest Control Whitewell a one video keep it up
Good Feeding!
How are they dead before they come out sometimes? Do the ferrets kill them?
Yes. there was 2 ferrets down at the same time and they were both on the same rabbit and killed it. It's not very often it happens to be honest.
How do they kill them? I'm having a hard time imagining a little ferret, even two of them killing a much bigger rabbit. Heart attack?
Also, when you say "lost 2" do you mean you lost 2 ferrets? Or 2 rabbits got away?
@@troycaster3872 they tend to bite the rabbit either in the head or neck. I lost 2 rabbits, two of them got away.
no they are the walking dead,,, thicks ur us
Nice video! What do you do with the rabbits after a successful session?
Either sell them to the butchers or they go into my freezer to be eaten by the ferrets or me 👍
How come you don’t use dogs whilst ferreting?
Cause I don't have a dog to use for ferreting
Is whitwell in the description to do with whitwell hill .?
whitwell on the hill

Did you do some sets on a little farm called eastfield farm on A64 in between Scarborough an malton pal
Not sure what the farm is called but yes it's at East Heslerton
I found two of your nets pal I saw the farm on one of your videos as I have permission there
@@waynerichardson137 must be further down the road this only 2nd time I've been here. Been doing the rest for the last 2 years.
It was down road a bit found them in the field next two a cafe an garage that sells scooters still in good nick there hung up in shed
@@waynerichardson137 they're not mine mate I don't go around there. I go further towards Malton at the back of the sand quarry
Does anyone have any land I could go ferreting on please and thankyou
not as many rabbits in oz straya these days since there doing the valeasey ? virus back i 60s 70s 80s always into them but older no one rabbits
There's a new virus in the UK wiping rabbits out mainly down south. Not seen it around me yet.
Hi mate
I’ve had my 2 year old Albino for 5 weeks n he’s a proven worker but I have no experience out ferreting
I have the nets and hoping to take him out soon so just looking for some tips and guidance please
Tia
If you haven't already get a ferret finder. I don't put a ferret down without a collar on.
After that make sure you net all holes including bolt hole, put ferret in one of the main holes and wait.
Thanks for that
I wasn’t planning on putting a collar on him etc as his previous owner never did over 20 times out ferreting n he always came back out
but if you think it’s for the best then I will get the finder and collar
@@ryang7579 your ferret will always come back out at some point. Just depends how long you want to sit and wait. I personally won't wait for a ferret to give up on a rabbit/s it has backed up or that are sitting tight. I will dig them out, without a collar and finder you can't do that. So as far as I'm concerned you could be missing out on rabbits that are refusing to bolt. In the last 5 or 6 years I've dug over 300 rabbits so it makes perfect sense to me
@@ruralpestcontrol yeah mate makes perfect sense. you’re the ferret guru so I will listen to you before I listen to anyone else.
Thanks as always for your time
@@ryang7579 not sure about ferret guru 🤣
Donde puedo comprar ese detector en España para buscar el hurón? A ver si alguien lo sabe
No sé, Deben dejó de fabricarlos, así que sólo puedes comprarlos de segunda mano. prueba ebay
@@ruralpestcontrol muchas gracias amigo
@@manuelceru411 ningún problema
Do you ever lose ferrets
Nope that's what the finder is for. I wouldn't put a ferret down without a collar on.
Make a video of all your ferrets in the pent house
What do you want to see in the video ?
@@ruralpestcontrol all your ferrets together in pent the pent house please

Great videos. Haven’t stopped watching. Keep up the work. Did they kill them in the hole, the ones you dug up? Or you snap the neck?
@@TM-gf8mb only the first one I dug out was dead. There's was two ferrets down at the same time. The rest were just backed up 3 all together in the same dead end.
Rural Pest Control Whitwell. Thanks for the replies. I’ve been checking out your vids. Where are you located, haven’t heard you say yet.
I found a mink in my woods and creek at the beginning of the summer. He’s pretty hard to spot but he’s really cool to check out. I haven’t been feeding him but I think he’s doing good on his own. He looks really healthy. I’ve gotten within 3-5 yards from him and then he’s gone. Not sure if you know much about them. They have to be of the same family as the ferret. Anyways thanks again I’ll keep watching. Im a subscriber!! Cya.
@@TM-gf8mb I live I North Yorkshire in the UK not far from York. Ferrets and mink belong to the group mustlidae. The ferret is the domesticated version of the European polecat.
Personally I think that the ferret should not be kept in that tiny box
It's a ferret carry box, how else do you expect us to get them from home to where we are catching rabbits. ?
I hope you put the land back to how you found it…keeps the bunnie huggers away…
No I just leave lots of deep holes all over for livestock to break their legs in 🙄
Great soil…
