Ok, but Marvel Snap's REAL newest card is Supergiant. At least 50% of the people I use her against on ladder and in Proving Grounds still have absolutely no idea what she does.
I saw that Regis put this in a Sera Tribunal deck, I think Anti-Venom has potential. I'm not getting him myself because I'm saving keys for Fenris and Gorr but still I'd say don't be too down on the card so soon.
it would have been way more interesting if anti-venom was a 4/0 that stole the power of your top card and then set the cost to 0. Imagine it hits like a Magneto, giving you a 4/12 on the board and a 0 cost disruption card in hand, sort of giving you a separation of power and ability kinda like what he does in the comics by separating symbiotes with their host. Or at least I think that's what he does idk it been a while
As much cooler as your idea is without a doubt, I think it's pretty broken. But it can be fixed with some balancing perhaps. Since it's Anti-Venom, it could be a 4/-3.
This card is insane. Coming from long years playing mtg= free card is insane. A 4/7 is solid. A free on reveal effect or ongoing effect is insane. Combine with Luke for free points is bonkers.
As soon as I saw him I thought he’d be good combo with Annihilus and what cards would be good to send over with Annihilus or viper red skull, ebony maw, Typhoid Mary
I’ve been playing in some ongoing lists I’ve just been messing around with and I’ve had some decent success. It feels like there’s something there but getting in the game early has had such a huge advantage being able to have every card so I understand the hesitation on blowing keys for a lot of players. Always honest, informative videos alex. Great job man
I think this is a wonderful classic example of Alex Coccia being a great presenter, but an underwhelming Snap player. I believe his verdict is narrow-minded, bordering wrong, but I suppose that is the premise of these early card reviews. Try playing Anti alongside a more Ongoing heavy deck, with cards like Ironman, Onslaught, Klaw, Darkhawk, Mystique. So far I have had a blast, and I am happy that I got the card.
I was anti venom believer but I got cold feet. Seeing these early reviews I’m feeling a little less bad about blowing 4 keys on Toxin right before reset.
Onslaught was the third card I thought of when I saw anti venom (after Mr. Negative and Luke cage). I'm not surprised with Alex's assessment... First card I've skipped in two seasons.
I wanted the supergiant variant, so I used up my last two keys, and got a scarlet spider from the random card(who I already had so 1000 tokens), and I got Anti-Venom who has been a bit of hit or miss in my Wiccan/iron man deck.
I'm loving playing him. I definitely see why people don't enjoy him and I wouldn't recommend getting him, but he has some pretty fun combos. Getting 5-cost and 6-cost cards like Doom, Iron Man, Onslaught etc to cost 0 on turn 6 is such a gigantic tempo boost, it's so fun completely flipping the board on the opponent. That's kind of THE reason to run him instead of Iron Lad (or alongside Iron Lad, which, running both of them is infinitely better imo), because Iron Lad does the same thing, except it gives your opponent way more information ahead of time. With Luke Cage, you also get a full free card on top of that. And also, I've seen a lot of people running Red Guardian and Rogue and stealing my Howard or Luke Cage to fck me up, which in turn actually helped, coz I was left a little more helpless, but they ran out of things to take down my other Ongoing cards.
I was pretty sure he wasn't worth rolling for, but I'm at the point in the game where I rarely get a week where I'm missing two cards. So I spent 4 fricken keys for him and Super Giant. Oh well, Revis' super giant deck is going pretty well so far.
@@notgeoff799 Supergiant is a much better card than people give it credit for. I often find that people forget about it and play stuff like Proffessor X or a mis-ordered Mystique, which provides some very easy cubes.
I've been planning on using tribunal for a few weeks. I only need a Tribunal, Iron lad and Sera for his top decks. So when Regis posted his Tribunal video today I decided to use just 1 key and hope for the best. Because I'm saving for Red guardian. But then I pulled the random series 4 or 5 cache and got a Hawkeye Kate Bishop. I plan on saving the other key. I am happy enough.
I know nobody is very high on this card but I’m sure it will be good eventually as its power is strong and the code gets cracked. I think it will work well with Gorr the god butcher , frigga, I think it will work out in the long run. Also I wanted supergiant as it just provides something unique to the game. Granted I spent 4 keys instead of 2 but hey I did pull scorn, misery and toxin all with one key so it balanced out lol
Played him for about five or so matches and every time I did get him he felt like he came out way too late for me. There was just better options on T4-5 imo.
Would look so cool woth the animation (and be a bit op) if it took the the top card of your deck and put it in your hand as a 0/0. I dont think, they'd give it a card draw though. What do you think?
Try him in a Zoo Deck, he's so broken in that, Free Onslaughts, free Mystique, free Ultron. He's basically good to get free cards that you don't care about the power, just their insane effects
I like this card, I love the character and the cards with Tribunal and Mr Negative (one of my favorite decks) I used 8 keys to get his variant (I didn’t want to use tokens)
I think I’m still gonna end up getting him because he’s 100% gonna be buffed after leaving the spotlights that everyone skipped and then regret they skipped it

Okay, here's what I understood... If you have a lot of cards already, are hitting Infinity easily, and basically just kind of an endgame player and just looking for some fun, Anti-Venom ain't for you. BUT... If you are a mid-level player like me and still have cards of Series 3 to unlock, a very limited pool of Season 4 and 5, and yet to reach Infinity, this card looks completely banger... coz I'll be honest, that's one of the most available decks I've seen in the past few weeks... Agent Venom, Toxin, Scream required so many particular Season 5 cards with them to actually be able to build a deck and play with!
Playing him with other cards that have health reduction as a downside and Luke Cage sort of feels like playing Arishem. It's either going to be unfair in your favor or self-sabotage and retreat.
I don’t have supergiant so I figured I’d do one key at least on this and it was ghost spider and I gotta say theirs something fishy about the spotlights. I’ve literally gotten the common cards first every time since summer. I don’t think I’m the only one in this boat.
My sister plays too and is a new player and has this same problem, I think it’s the games way of making sure new player still get older cards that you’ll need for deck building. Some of the originals are still the best in game. (And of course they want you to spend money lol)
I cant get my Head around a anti venom, mr negativ and u slap Like Iron Man mystique, sage, ironheart, Maybe a zabu and magic too. Knull and Zola combo also sounds busted How is there no negativ Deck?
Frigga will be super bad. Like you just don't have time to play her in negative/zero and silver surfer doesn't really need her. Personally I already play wong/absorbing man there and replacing one of them with frigga would feel like a nerf. Her effect should be on a 2 cost or at least give her cost reduction for a copied card.
I feel as if (therapy speech), if you have Howard in a deck, auto-includes are Iron Lad and Jubilee... If Howard is going to ever be one of the 12, you have to maximize what he does because otherwise he sucks. With Anti-Venom....spice in a lil DareDevil... Now I'm on a full Zoltar deck... sprinkle in some Uatu... How you gonna win when I know the future???
I frequently follow the Snap Chatters' advice on cards to get vs. wait for, but I also like to spend my keys on weeks when there is something that I don't already own in the spotlight. That hasn't been happening much for me lately because recent spotlights have often had cards I'd already picked up somewhere along the way. I didn't have Supergiant though, and I had over a dozen keys, so I figured I'd go for it this week. Maybe I'd get lucky and get Supergiant on the first key and then be able to wait for the verdict on Anti-Venom! Well, no such luck. I started by getting 1000 tokens for a duplicate Nico Minoru, then got the Ghost Spider variant, then Anti-Venom, so of course I used a fourth key to get Supergiant. Not having buyer's remorse yet, but I sure hope Anti-Venom gets buffed or someone finds a great deck with him. And it would be nice to have a good home for my new Supergiant.
Alex: Anti-Venom sucks. Don't buy it. Also Alex: I won a bunch. I stole cubes. I found fun combos to try. Also Also Alex: Here is me winning a bunch of games in the video, including the final one where Anti-Venom is doing an excellent job supervising from my hand while the other cards do the work. If you really didn't like the card, I would have shown off a bunch of hands of you losing. Because this makes Anti-Venom look fun. Not buying it yet... but with that Frigga card coming... Run Shadow King? If you keep meeting the same deck all the time, run a tech card. If you start running into different decks, that tech card will still help you regardless.

In my testing, he felt very good in ongoing, and it gave more of a reason to play Howard with Spectrum

He has synergy with Luke Cage, which in turn has synergy with U.S. Agent and Man-Thing. Maybe run an Ongoing affliction deck?

That's an incredible pull for the random card, especially given how unlikely you are to actually get a new card!

I feel like a good buff would be to DRAW the card as well as changing its power and cost to 0
That would be way too strong. Run it with Abs Man, and you could almost always pull off whatever combo you're looking for.

Same but jubilee and hell cow are already great options on turn 4 so it is awkward wish it was a 2 or even 3 cost with less power

Put Anti-Venom in the Hela Deck instead of Jubilee. It does the same but 4/7 instead of 4/1, as long as you run Luke Cage.

Odd take, but i used anti-venom zabu and pixie for an on reveal deck it was solid but anti-venom was useful

@@FleepwnIt's not about whether or not he's winning, it's about the variety he's playing against.
It just feels very weird to play. And with so many viable decks out there, there is absolutely no reason to play him sadly.
