    • Riding Olympic Nationa...
This video captures a first person experience (Point of View) of the riding in the majestic Olympic National Park. Situated in the northwest peninsula of the United States, Olympic National Park is a treasure trove for hikers, backpackers, and nature enthusiasts alike.
Surrounded by lush mountains and towering trees, this ride takes us along the edge of one of the deepest lakes in Washington, Lake Crescent. Our ride takes us along the twisty path of the shoreline, with the sun flickering through the trees and glistening off of the water. Sit back and relax, lean into the curves, and enjoy vistas of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Feel the 4K experience while enjoying a truly special ride.

This video was originally published in January of 2022 with music. I thought this would be a nice video to see/hear without music and have republished it with that purpose in mind. Some of you have commented that you enjoy seeing/hearing these kinds of videos. Please let me know if you want to see more. Thanks!

Buddy, outstanding. I think you get them to close the track for you cause you always pick the best time to ride and film. Lol. Gotta get you over to Lewiston, ID to Lolo Pass all along the Clearwater River around Memorial Weekend when that river turns into Class 5 rapids from all the mountain run off…. But what a ride from Lewiston to Lolo. Another rural gem is North out of Red Lodge, MT (east side of Beartooth Pass), from Red Lodge on HWY 78 up to I-90 just west of Billings. I think you’d love that winding two lane, hills and valleys, scenic to know end.

Love the suggestions! Lolo pass has been on my list and I will probably try to nab that one this summer. I was planning on hitting Yellowstone this summer as well...so I might just check out your other suggestion as well. Thanks for the tips!

Mounting the camera on the bike has its downside because on a twisty road like this, the horizon won’t stay level. It’s different to what you see when you’re on your bike because your head will stay upright all the time because you’ll tilt your head and therefore the horizon will stay level.
Mounting the camera on the helmet, like I do, has its downside too because the camera will follow your (sometimes brisk) head movements but at least the horizon stays level.
It’s very tiring to look at a movie where the horizon tilts constantly.

Interesting comment! It is true that there are tradeoffs based on where you place your camera. Personally, I don't like watching videos where the camera is on the helmet as the camera movements are often erratic and unpredictable. For a "relaxing" video, I want the camera movement to be predictable. Since we can see the road and where we are headed, we can predict the movements we are going to encounter. As for the tilting horizon, that is what I like about the camera being on a motorcycle and not on a car. I get a virtual experience of the lean that is unique to our 2-wheeled vehicles. It may not be for everybody, but the moving horizon is part of what I am trying to capture.

@@motolaxin2514 the newest GoPro can automatically correct the tilting horizon. Maybe best of both worlds.
Try riding a few corners and don’t tilt your head to keep the horizon level. It’s a lot more difficult to ride those corners. Therefore you automatically tilt your head when in a corner.
I can’t watch motorcycle ride movies where the horizon constantly moves.
