Riding through Grand Teton National Park. Relaxing POV 4K motorcycle ride (with music).
This video captures a first person experience (Point of View) of riding through Grand Teton National Park. The Tetons are a special mountain range, lacking foothills on the the eastern side, the sudden change in elevation make for a dramatic splash of contrast on the horizon. With the sun at our back and after a fresh sprinkling of snow, we head towards the range for this crisp morning ride. Along the way, we stop to enjoy Jackson Lake and take the scenic Jenny Lake Loop, with a brief stop at the Jenny Lake Overlook. Our final destination is the Jenny Lake Visitor Center.
Sit back and relax, lean into the curves, and enjoying the majestic beauty of Grand Teton National Park. Feel the 4K ex...

      I mount it on the front of the bike, using the bolt that bolts the windscreen on. I find that the exact bolt matters. If I place it too high, then the ride looks less stable. If I place it too low, then you can't see as much. Right side is better than left.

      @@motolaxin2514 Oh yeah, west of Sawpit, takes you over towards Moab. I’ve never taken that route yet, but have heard riding over in there is fantastic too. There’s also a stretch if you enter Black Canyon National Park of Gunnison from the south entrance outside Montrose, it climbs thru about 53 miles of twisties, 1,000 ft canyon walls, and finishes north in a little town of Hotchkiss. After about 45 miles had to pull over for a minute to re-group. Those twisties will get to you after a bit! Lol. How long ago did you ride this Million Dollar Hwy?

    • @DeBa1226

      @@motolaxin2514 Yes go east on Montrose a ways, on 50, then you turn left crossing the river, and heading North on 92 all the way to Hotchkiss. Even before you get to 92, you can ride up on 347 to take a peak at some incredible views, one canyon up in there is over 2,200 feet deep! But jump back out on 50 east to Hwy 92 north to Hotchkiss; that’s the gem. One small gas station a few miles shy of Hotchkiss. I found out about 92 calling the park and a ranger pointing out, if you’re on a bike, 92 is your route and keep your speed well under control. Once we made it to Hotchkiss, we turned east and took a beautiful ride on in to Carbondale, then hung a right and took a short ride on into Aspen to spend the night. Next morning grabbed breakfast at Poppycocks, then rode south out of Aspen up and over Independence Pass. That’s some great rides to take, vlog, this summer!

      @motolaxin2514 Год назад

      The video is filmed in 4K and, if your player is streaming in 4K, will be genuine 4K footage. However, lighting has a big impact on what the camera can capture. Towards the end of the video, the sun is setting and the lighting is not sufficient to light up all of the pixels we would like to see. It doesn't feel like 4K at that point. However, in the beginning and in the earlier parts of the video, the 4K resolution is much more evident.

    Buddy, outstanding. I think you get them to close the track for you cause you always pick the best time to ride and film. Lol. Gotta get you over to Lewiston, ID to Lolo Pass all along the Clearwater River around Memorial Weekend when that river turns into Class 5 rapids from all the mountain run off…. But what a ride from Lewiston to Lolo. Another rural gem is North out of Red Lodge, MT (east side of Beartooth Pass), from Red Lodge on HWY 78 up to I-90 just west of Billings. I think you’d love that winding two lane, hills and valleys, scenic to know end.

      Love the suggestions! Lolo pass has been on my list and I will probably try to nab that one this summer. I was planning on hitting Yellowstone this summer as well...so I might just check out your other suggestion as well. Thanks for the tips!

    Mounting the camera on the bike has its downside because on a twisty road like this, the horizon won’t stay level. It’s different to what you see when you’re on your bike because your head will stay upright all the time because you’ll tilt your head and therefore the horizon will stay level. Mounting the camera on the helmet, like I do, has its downside too because the camera will follow your (sometimes brisk) head movements but at least the horizon stays level. It’s very tiring to look at a movie where the horizon tilts constantly.

      Interesting comment! It is true that there are tradeoffs based on where you place your camera. Personally, I don't like watching videos where the camera is on the helmet as the camera movements are often erratic and unpredictable. For a "relaxing" video, I want the camera movement to be predictable. Since we can see the road and where we are headed, we can predict the movements we are going to encounter. As for the tilting horizon, that is what I like about the camera being on a motorcycle and not on a car. I get a virtual experience of the lean that is unique to our 2-wheeled vehicles. It may not be for everybody, but the moving horizon is part of what I am trying to capture.

      @@motolaxin2514 the newest GoPro can automatically correct the tilting horizon. Maybe best of both worlds. Try riding a few corners and don’t tilt your head to keep the horizon level. It’s a lot more difficult to ride those corners. Therefore you automatically tilt your head when in a corner. I can’t watch motorcycle ride movies where the horizon constantly moves.

    This video was originally published in January of 2022 with music. I thought this would be a nice video to see/hear without music and have republished it with that purpose in mind. Some of you have commented that you enjoy seeing/hearing these kinds of videos. Please let me know if you want to see more. Thanks!

    Man I love this footage. Have made that ride from Aspen up across Indy Pass on down the backside to Poncha Springs and beyond 4 times, and never gets old to me. Where you started must have been just past that little waterfall to the left, before you reached the summit.

      Its a beautiful ride. I grew up in Colorado but never really explored it. I am finally exploring it now as an adult. I live in California, but I love taking my bike to the Rockys during the summer months. I want to ride every paved mountain pass in Colorado (which, I believe, is about 60). Just started and have a long way to go.

      @@motolaxin2514 no doubt, I’ve ridden every corner of Colorado and everything in between. And still missed some passes I have to get back to. Always enjoyed he loop out of Aspen up to Glenwood Springs. Then west over to Rifle, and north up to Craig, then back east to lunch in Steamboat. From there, took the backroads down thru Oak Creek and Yampa on my way back to Aspen. No traffic, small fun rural towns to roll thru, love riding CO.
