During video when you show before and after could you maybe also include the numbers such as what the f stop and iso and shutter speed where for each of the photos like somewhere underneath?? Love your content
@@allenmusa1805 i also find this kinda useless as almost all street photographers are editing their photos and that completely changes the look of the photo compared to the raw version. If you get what i mean
I have a very good 85 mm, and i do like it! BUT! Since I got my self a 135 mm 1,8 it has very quickly become my favorite lens for street! It’s like the 85 but I don’t have to be as close like I would with the 85. And that in my world is better🙏🏻
Loving the POV's man!! I just treated myself to the Samyang 85mm 1.4, so can't wait to start using it in my portraits, but seeing you use it in street photography, is really sick, so may give it a go myself!
Fantastic photos! Thanks for posting. I found this video by accident, and now will subscribe to your channel. I've been considering purchasing an 85 f/1.4 and have been reading reviews. This was great; I had not considered the Samyang until now.
ive got the a7iii and im looking for a lens for night video / photos of urban environments like buildings / cities etc in Sydney too haha. any budget friendly suggestions? i also have trouble with iso settings would like some suggestions for that too. love the work
Great vid OW! It would be great if you could add the preset that you use on the photo like you did back in the day. I bought them recently and I’m quite struggling with finding the rights photos to match them with. Seeing your choices would help a ton!
Smooth POV. GoPro lens showing some distracting flare. “Super picky” is good😊. Tram=photographer magnet, but really liked the track reflection pic. Does Lightroom have a lens profile for this Samyang?
Yeah spent a good portion yesterday trying to figure out why as it’s very annoying. Haven’t found a solution yet and not sure why the max mod does this. I’m Exploring other ideas today. Glad you like the video though. Currently it doesn’t it only has Samyang 85mm 1.4 RF Version.
Have you ever thought about getting the tampon 35-150mm f2-f2.8? I feel like that could be your go to street lens… Side note can you explain your tattoo on you left arm? If not no biggie, I was just curious .
Hey great suggestion, the reason I like the 85 is because of the wider aperture as you do see a different at night time. Tattoo is two faces merged together to symbolise all the people if met that have help me grow my mentality. I Got it at the end of 2018 after travelling for 4 years and meeting so many people who influenced me and help me grow up.
Niiiice!!!! These shots look 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I’d love to be in a city where they have trams passing all the time and get some shots like these. Great work! Edits are siiiick !
Great lens and photos! I have a similar V85mm f/1.2 at home but didn’t bring it during my travels unfortunately. Now rocking a 24-105 f/4.0. Still great but the higher aperture can be annoying at night.
@@Opticalwander perfect thank you. I can go back and check but just in case you are still here which site was it you recommended when it came to second hand lenses and cameras. Think it was a British site
85mm isn’t an expensive lens, you can pick up an 85mm Samsung 2nd hand for very cheap. Plus I hear you, that’s why my next night pov set up worth $100 🤙🏼
Thank you 😊 you’ve also just explained the same thing with different words 😂 compression and perspective distortion mean exactly the same thing. Maybe not in old English but in modern term at least.
@@Opticalwander i have canon 700d😅not only noise,in low light, skin tone will be kinda dark purple.btw is that normal?or something broken from my camera or my lens?
This makes no sense? It’s like saying oh you shot with the correct settings 🥱 oh I’m sorry I’ll shoot f5.6 in pitch black and ask all my subjects to wait while I set up the tripod. Such a dumb comment.
I picked up a 1990s Nikon AF 85mm f1.4d lens recently and have been loving it, definitely going to use it for street photos more.
Lots of people don’t realize how amazing the 85mm for street photography. Amazing video. Thank you.
I own the Nikon D5500 and i have recently bought the Nikon 85mm F1.8 and Nikon 50mm F1.4
As always amazing stuff!! That 85mm 1.4 tho 🥵🥵🥵
Initially my fav. of the video was the tram reflected in the tracks aaand then you got to the tower ones. 🔥
Nice! I have a Nikon d40 I use with my 85 1.4, always love the outcomes
really cool video. Many greetings from Germany and a healthy 2023

So its an aspherical lens? What does that mean for portrait/street photography? Is that good or bad?

This specificere Samyang lens, does it have any imagestabilisation build in?
Hi, did you can photo parametrs write down under photo preview?
It feels weird watching you do videos here in my City. 😆
Every time he presses the shutter is he taking multiple photos at once or just one picture

great vid great shots! Did you use the V1 or V2 of the Samyang and is the price worth the V2?
This was the V2 Samyang 🙏

Awesome again mate. What's the difference between the centre and wide focus?
Centre focus will pull focus to the centre focus point wide will use all focus points and then decide which it thinks is best to pull focus on.

u mean lower aperture?
As someone else said too, London ftw 🤣
when you got the camera pointed at a person, and they happen to look at you taken thier photograph... what do they do and how does one handle it?
I just continue getting the photo and maybe move slightly to the right or left to make it look like I’m still trying to get the right shot 🤙🏼
@@Opticalwander I appreciate the quick response! I struggle with street because I overthink how others would perceive me.
@nissannismoftw It's our thoughts... most of the time people don't really care unless you close in too much
Any plans of visiting other cities in Australia?
Yeah for sure, I’ve moved full time to Australia so I have plenty of time to 😊
Also what are your thoughts on Sony A7iii. Wanted to get one and the A7iv is kinda expensive so was looking at the 3
Get the a7iii it’s a great camera, look at most of my other videos from last year backwards they were all the Sony a7iii

Is it just the one lens (on the camera) that you're carrying or do you also have some alternatives on you?
I have alternatives at home but I very rarely take everything with me.
Top💪
9:50 mans got balls
Do you shoot with Apperture Priority with auto ISO?
No I shoot manual 🙏

That's an expensive item some people aint got that type of budget to blow on a lens at this moment in time ,cool vid btw

Bro, photography/videography is not a cheap hobby. If it's your job/career then you gotta invest in it.
There is no such thing as lens compression - it's perspective distortion. Love the vid though 🙂
Cool story dad

@@Opticalwander I'm an Engineer. Words are important. The effect is the same, but lens compression isn't a thing.
For me, having a second option is not so bad. Most of the time, I will take the opposite side of the focal length I use. (85 ➡️ 15 or 35mm etc)
I was waiting to see a kangaroo on the streets! 😀 Now I am disappointed! ☹️
Sydney streets are boring compared with iconic London
They’re totally different of course, one is 1975 years old and the other 234 years.
I feel Sydney is better for architecture photography... street is not bad, but doesn't compare to London, New York or Paris
Who cares.... i think london looks like💩, dno what ur talking about
@galaxystars6409 personal preferences mate... nobody has to understand the other person
If i use iso more than 400 it will be noise all over the photo🙈,i only have 55 250 and that's bad for night shooting
