I like it. Low part count makes it perfect for the novice builder. Now if they would issue it with out the starter set stuff, it would be a wonderful thing. I want this kit as a bundle with the E and G . That would make it interesting for the modeler.

I have to say I really like these new tooled kits from Airfix although I've only built the Mk1a Spitfire so far with the Hawker Hurricane next. Comparing them to the old kits is chalk and cheese. I recall not actually knowing what the control column looked like in a Spitfire or Hurricane as books were expensive and Airfix kits had little more than a pilot in them and I was really interested to know. I finally found out when I went to see The Battle of Britain as a youngster, odd how these memories persist. Nowadays of course it's merely a matter of seconds with the internet but how I would've loved this level of detail in the kits I built as a child.
I do hope Airfix will include a stand the way they used to.

beat me to it! picked this kit up last week, because its a nice easy paint scheme for me to have a play with a new airbrush to make a sort of two in one review, seeing how quick it is to build took me back to those 70's Saturday afternoons, when I would spend my pocket money on a kit after dinner time, and have it built (but never painted!) decals on, all in time for doctor who at five!

It surprised me how quickly it went together - like a Matchbox kit of old - thanks for watching.

Very nice James, I am currently building the airfix 109 and the fit of the canopy is quite poor, requiring lots of filler to blend it in with the fuselage, this kit looks a much better proposition by comparison.

Sorry I missed the show -- it was very early morning here. I just got this kit as part of a 'Dogfight Doubles' gift set with the P-51 Mustang. Hope you don't mind, but I'll be publishing my review later today. Great job! 😀

Thanks for your kit recommendation last night on Airfix & Chill. I have ordered the Tamiya Tiger 1 but the 1/35th scale one as I prefer that scale. Thanks again!

Re Poland v India.. per month the Polish average income is GBP1,512 but in India it's only GBP305.90, about a fifth. So economically even accounting shipping it's probably much cheaper for Airfix to use India.

True, however their QC and work ethic, is far better.

@@toboldlygosmodelworks1973 Agreed completely. However in the case of Airfix the accountants won. It's probably cheaper to replace /some/ poor parts than have them /all/ made properly to start with.
