      Opening jars with flat sides (or any kind of lid with a flat side, including plastic bottle tops) is made a lot easier if you use an elastic band and wrap it around the cap. Adds more grip I guess

    Ayo, storytime ya'll!
    So, once I was trying to open a pickle jar and it just won't open. Everyone in the family tried but to no avail. Even my uncle who goes to gym regularly was making excuses like -"That's stuck, it won't open by anyone". Then out of nowhere my 4 year old cousin comes, picks up the jar and bingo! The goddamn jar freaking opened!
    I guess all our efforts had made the lid a little bit loose.
    The end result?
    My cousin got the nickname 'Mister Muscles'.
    We still call him that up to this day.

      I prefer to smack the top edge of the lid with the back of a butter knife or edge other silverware, but yes the counter works too! I’ve just noticed that if your counters aren’t made of something strong enough, it can leave little dings or scuffs, so I prefer to hit the jar instead.

    Pretty sure it's because the closed lids (especially the new ones) cause vacum inside the jar which makes it hard to open and when you tap it on the top it gives air a slight way to enter which overcome the vaccum and you can open it easily

  • @KarenLo
    @KarenLo 2 года назад

    Idk if anyone else has tried, but what I usually do is use some spare rubber bands, loop it around the rim of the cap, and open regularly. The friction between the lid, rubber band, and your hand should open most tight jar/bottle lids
