I was there. FG at end of the game? After two makeable attempts went wide? A Hail Mary had a much better shot at succeeding. Tipped ball. DPI. Other defensive penalty. Awful decision. The marching band’s halftime show was great.
This loss is a huge problem, especially from a field goal perspective. With Iowa Hawkeyes coming up on the road 10/11 and Penn State in November - I suspect that defensive coverage routes are vital to maintaining their competitive edge to winning. Don't worry, this is a rebuilding year without KD... Here's my further thoughts and analysis - patience and perseverance go hand in hand. The Dawg House will be on board to getting back to the winning edge!!!
Good point. Those were too catastrophic losses back to back that wrecked a sneaky 2022 postseason run, but it neither had anything to do with the coaching simply not preparing them to be in good positions to play fast and thrive while also failing to clean up all of the lack of discipline that we saw tonight that was identical to what we saw vs WSU “can’t let a team beat ya twice” they sure did and by how much we outgained them in yards wee beat ourselves with the refs more than Rutgers beat us.
It all came down to mental toughness and discipline!....Rutgers'was the better coached team with a great red zone defense....2-12 on 3rd down didn't help!
lf that helps you fall to sleep at night, so be it! Rutgers' led the game close to the entire night....they clearly were the more disciplined and better coached team which was the difference maker! !@GovCheez

So only now the Husky Fans are questioning Jedd Fisch's coaching and why their former AD made a deal thinking Fisch was worth a $50M over seven years when he only had one, ONE winning season in college football!
What are you talking about??? Penix was a once in a generation talent. It's unrealistic to expect any qb to replace a Heisman trophy runner up. Rogers has performed very well and is not the problem. You can criticize penalties and some play calling has been questionable, but it's not Rogers' fault.
I don't know if I've ever seen a game as weird. Totally dominate a team, not turn the ball over, and lose. And since when did sideline infractions turn into illegal substitution?? Dude wasn't going out there to join the play, but to celebrate as the play was just ending. So strange. We're handing out Ws this year. Take yours Wazzu, take yours Rutgers. Still surprised how good the team plays at times. Didn't think I'd see that this year. Oh well, on to Michigan.
Roger’s is fine. Roger’s is not losing the games. It’s penalties. Bone headed penalties. Sure get a 5yd holding penalty/ false start or off sides. Stop the dam 15yd personal fouls. Stop running onto field before whistle is blown. We do that and we are at very least 4-1
i just dont understand why they fall apart on 3rd downs and redzone playcalling, the playcalling isnt bad, we have put up 900 yards in our first two B1G games, thats unreal and the best we could hope for. But none of those yards are converting to points were constantly leaving points on the field whether its penalties, bad redzone and 3rd down play calls, mental mistakes, its infuriorating, this team should be 5-0 and heading into a top 15 matchup with michigan
I know I'm, late. but I just wanted to ask a couple of questions. was this the end of the season? IE, are we not getting to a bowl game? 3-9 or 4-8? Does Jed not get that this is a team of college kids, not a pro team that needs to be hyped up? how many more bad beats till he loses the locker room? these kids are playing their asses off and it's their coaches that are letting them down!! YOU COACHES ARE THE ONE WHO ARE AT FAULT!!! THIS IS ALL ON YOU!! we are stuck with this shit for 2- maybe 3 years, unless someone takes this ass offensive calling off us. BUT LIKE ALWAYS, we are stuck with shit.......... I love my DAWGS, but damn am I glad my wife talked me out of season tickets!! I feel bad for you guys trying to make content out this...
I seldom come to Washington sports sites, but as an Arizona fan I wanted to remind Jedd Snake/Rotten Fisch that the team he abandoned beat #10 Utah this weekend and is currently ranked 27th in the country. Is it possible that he is not actually that good a coach after all?
Guys I appreciate all the time you put into this and I know it sucks losing - but EMBARRASSING in bold letters to start the video is a little extreme. The fan base needs to understand the program is still very much a work in progress after the restart. Rutgers was favored in this game. UW has fought hard from behind in both their loses and to me that is a sign of good coaching. Penalties' have been very costly, no doubt. Hopefully the boys can keep their energy up because there is an immediate remedy coming into town next Saturday and we all know this team has played well enough in spurts to hang with Michigan (at home especially). Put it all together for that game and we can quickly forget about this loss. Go Dawgs
Agreed there is talent. But they’ve only been together for a few months. Successful football teams grow over years. I know we live in an immediate satisfaction society now. But you can’t just create a culture overnight. Losing as a road underdog is not the end of the world. Let’s let the season play out and see if the team actually gets better.
@@robdiederichs9072 This has nothing to do with culture, this has everything to do with outright blatantly bad coaching decisions and the coaches lack of discipline.
I think you’re wrong, culture does have a lot to do with everything that happens on the football field. Bad coaching decisions can stem from lack of familiarity/trust with players or vice versa. This team has played hard and should be 5-0 but they’re not - it happens. I’m optimistic for the future and Coach Fisch and everybody would be better off being positive at this point. It’s literally the 2nd real game this team has played together…
@@robdiederichs9072 We'll have to agree to disagree. The talent UW players have is obvious, what's even more obvious is the reason for those 2 losses, and it's undoubtedly extremely bad coaching, period.
@locked on huskies. That was a good call on the goal line. If pass wasn’t tipped it was a TD. What’s not forgivable are the bone head penalties. It’s coming down to if you can’t play without committing 15 yard personal fouls or stay off the field til the play is over then you don’t need to be on the field or travel.
@@Jason-lk9yi what I’m saying is it was a TD if it wasn’t tipped. Sure we could have ran Coleman but it’s not guaranteed that he gets in. They been stuffed before. If he would have completed it nobody would be complaining about it.
Everyone knew this was going to be a rough year, I don't get why anyone is surprised by any of this. More of this is coming this season, it's going to be frustrating. Michigan next week😂 That should be fun.... I bet we'll see a packed stadium, there was still some empty places even during Northwestern. Maybe UW will be better next weekend.
It's Showing up in the most Critical times that this team is A Patch work team at this point 31:34 ..I think that it's gonna be the Case all year..I think they will be better in the coming weeks and finish around 7- 5 maybe if the jell
No matter how bad our red zone offense is if he makes his field goals we are not talking about how potful the red zone play calling I mean listening to you guys even you sound like you in disbelief at the bad play calling
It doesn't seem like Jedd has the "special connection" with the team that that Kalen had! (I watched Kalen's Alabama team, which INCLUDED former Husky Germie Bernard, defeat Georgia yesterday!) Only a small number of coaches have THAT kind of "special connection"!
He had it at Arizona.... But when he screwed the fans and players by bailing a week after he said he wouldn't..... He lost it. He ran for a little more money when he could have stayed just one more year at Arizona and had a top 10 team... Then left with good graces all around. But he didn't.....he also had such a big head he legit thought every starter at Arizona would bail and follow him to Washington. Thank god most of them had better values. And stayed true to the word they gave. Unlike jedd who broke a promise he made just days prior to bailing. Well folks its called karma. And sorry but us Arizona fans are smiling ear to ear watching yall lose these last two weeks. Boy i wish jedd wishes he could trade places now.... Arizona just beat #10Utah at utah. But hey i hope jedd enjoys his brand new Mercedes.
This coach needs to go he has shown absolutely no imagination when it comes to play calling compare to Grubb we can really see the difference watching jedd is like watching a cave man trying to create the wheel where as grubb has already invented a Lamborghini
Bottom line if you want to here as continue to lose like this, you keep Rogers in. Everyone will look the same all year long; we will look as bored and confused by losing. Or you put Demond in and at least as have fun watching your team lose. Your team, in general, will have more hope, and Demond will be as ready for next year. Why waste time on Will Rogers when you got your team here losing the close games. Everyone will disagree with me. But why play for Will and here Jedd?
Hey tell Jedd it’s not rocket science you have ball on the two yard line you put a offensive or defensive lineman in as a fullback to block and hand the damn ball off to Coleman come on
It is so thoroughly disappointing watching a game like this being the fact that we would have as dominated the game if we knew what we were doing. This game was just like the Cougar game it was there for us to win. Despite our failure to know what we are doing. I do not know where to point blame as it was all a here complete failure by everyone. We looked like and played like a high school team, knowledge wise on the field. As pathetic as it looked. We were only 3 points lesser than Rutgers. Which, Rutgers has been together for 4 years, playing here a long time together. It shows you we have talent at least and are not far away from being decent here. I am already tired of the slow white guy QB play on the goal line. I see what they are going to run a mile away, so I know the defense here knows what is coming also. I would be OK with putting here Demond Williams in as starter. Because none of this is going to get better. I would rather watch him play. Will Rogers is here, Jake Browning, with his lack of running ability, but he does not have Jake's arm. Demond has running ability and has Jake's strong arm. So if we are going to lose anyway; we might as well lose with someone talented. Lose in style, at least.
By no means did Jake Browning have a strong arm 😂 Browning had one of the weakest arms at Husky QB in quite sometime, he was accurate but he consistently underthrew Ross and Pettis.
With their schedule and how they e been playing it’s easy to see that the huskies may not win another game this season. Michigan, USC, Oregon are pretty much losses at this point let’s not kid ourselves and UCLA, Indiana and Iowa are toss ups. Ugly season with a terrible coach!
@@OcotilloCanyon - you guys suck ass. We are 4-0. The whole nation is making fun of you and your flat-faced kicker. Big 10 licking their chops. * we know Pat is happy over there. More Asian restaurants. Go Cougs! Huskies are brutal.

Fisch looks like the second coming of Jimmy Lake. Huge ego and terribly coached team. We have more talent than WSU and Rutgers and even though we tried over and over again to sink ourselves with stupid penalties, we still had chances to win both games. When the players screw up continuously with no improvement, its the coaching.
@@GovCheezAZ fans weren’t crying. We called him all kinds of names and uw fans said we were ‘salty’ while they discussed how they pulled off a coup in getting Fisch. We said ‘you’ll see’. Stop trying to rewrite history.
They won't bench Will Rogers, but I would love to see Demond grow with the team he is getting next year. Rogers is not NFL material. Rogers can not even handle a snap. The team has a problem with not knowing itself right now. Demond gives us some Jake Locker like hope and puts in the guy who runs like the wind and has an arm also, and plus, he can take a snap. So lose while your team gets better, at least in this. We are wasting the season with Rogers. He does not have it here in. Why is Demond not in on goal line offense, or maybe have a dual running back set? Cam Davis and Jonah and Demond out there to confuse the defense, than throw to your tight end or what. Will Rogers is no threat on goal line he does not run and he does not have the arm. It all sucks here.
Growing pains, so grow up and calm down. It's a very young team. You cannot compare this team to last year b/c last year's team had plenty of 5 & 6 year players. Over half of the players just started a few months ago. Give them a break, and stop complaining so much like cry babies. I think that UW gave away this game to Rutgers due to multiple reasons. The player on the sideline jumps onto the field cheering. That is not using his head and undisciplined. The early tackle by the center knocked the opponent twice going down when he didn't need to, miscommunication between Will Rogers and his receivers. It was unusual for Grady to miss the field goals when he virtually made all of them last year. Will's ball was tipped when throwing to the end goal. The previous 3 plays were run by Coleman, so it became too predictable and our opponents are focusing on him, so another strategy is needed. If Will could get a touchdown, people wouldn't be crying out loud. Unfortunately, it was a combo of poor execution and miscommunication, Grady had a unusual off night. Time management at the end would have helped to put 20 seconds on the clock. Growing pains for both coaches and players. Give them a break. And I'll give you two a break, too. Rethink your approach by maintaining your composure by pointing out constructively what improvements are needed and yes, talk about what they've done well. Part of your podcast is to maintain positivity and support for a very young team who have been together for a few months, along w/ a new coaching staff. You guys come off tearing the Coaches down. Is this how you would talk to your players or your own children? Where's the patience? What impact do you have on the Husky fan base by a clobbering tone that also influences others to have that mentality? Now you and a person commenting below are personally attacking Jedd re: his ego. You guys are getting out of line. Please maintain your civility and professionalism.
And I totally agree for what it's worth I have been watching husky football a long time and I've seen 7 and 4 husky teams jump up and bite highly ranked teams in the country so don't give up on these guys yet. It's still Washington and I think people forget that yeah 5 and 0 would have been nice but if this is bad as it gets around here playing competitive ball into the fourth quarter I'll take it
Rutgers fan here. The podcasters are going beserk as if they could do better. You all lost most of your team after last years National Champonship final and got back a product this year that looks remarkably good considering. If it werent for that freshman running onto the field after that blocked field goal this game would have been yours. I am rooting for you all for the rest of the season. You look like a 9-3 team. And you’ll beat us next year.
As a UW fan it feels like UW fans are starting to act like Oregon Duck fans. Everyone one needs to relax, it’s year one with a bunch of players who haven’t played together and the play calling isn’t awful it’s just an undisciplined team and that is normal in year one. Everyone needs to take a chill pill, just be grateful. I have faith in this coaching staff and team, it’s year one. Be a believer in UW football and not jump to all these conclusions.

The Pac 12 has outplayed the Big ten for years. The joke is they were to stupid to capitalize on the most high quality division in the country. Last year they were like 48-4 in non conference games. But the head to head play is where the teams got their losses.
A face palm for the comment and everybody that 👍 it. Unrealistic expectations after a National title run is making our fanbase delusional. Let the man actually have a chance to do his job and support the team with some good vibes.
Dude, we just finished 2nd in the country last year. People calling for a coaching change after week 5 of year 1 is just ridiculous and doesn’t help anything! That’s not deflecting mediocrity that is embracing insanity. Do you want recruits looking at these comments and seeing the fanbase bailing on the team/coach that they’re committed to after just a couple games? Be better and support the kids…
I’m not sugarcoating the loss. But we have had a lot of success lately and our fans need to realize there will be losses. It sucks, losing sucks! But that doesn’t automatically mean that we need to fire our coach and our fanbase is soft…
@timwatts1663 You must be a fan of one of the two remaining PAC-12 schools, you know, the two schools that every other power conference denied access to.

And we haven’t even gotten to building a program where it’s clear they were a lazy nepo staff at UCLA/LA before showing up to a Zona spot with no expectations and they coasted off of sneaking up on everyone. Even then at Zona he never beat UDUB/Oregon/USC.
I was there. FG at end of the game? After two makeable attempts went wide? A Hail Mary had a much better shot at succeeding. Tipped ball. DPI. Other defensive penalty. Awful decision.

The field goal situation is CONCERNING, they are the "difference maker" in close games!
This did not happen with our previous coach.
The 2 loses this season are due to bad Coaching.
Well your previous coach obviously knows Washington is a dead end job 😂😂😂😂

Washington won the game everywhere but the scoreboard. You should still be undefeated right now.
It all came down to mental toughness and discipline!....Rutgers'was the better coached team with a great red zone defense....2-12 on 3rd down didn't help!
I think "great red zone defense" is a nice way of saying Rogers flat out missing open receivers for easy scores.

So only now the Husky Fans are questioning Jedd Fisch's coaching and why their former AD made a deal thinking Fisch was worth a $50M over seven years when he only had one, ONE winning season in college football!

I thought (was hoping) Will Rogers would be another Michael Penix! (but, that doesn't seem to be the case)
Penix is a once in a decade QB. Rogers still owns SEC passing records. Holding SEC QB records means he's also a once in a decade QB.
What are you talking about??? Penix was a once in a generation talent. It's unrealistic to expect any qb to replace a Heisman trophy runner up. Rogers has performed very well and is not the problem. You can criticize penalties and some play calling has been questionable, but it's not Rogers' fault.
Should play Williams Jr for the rest of the season. The future is bright 😎
@@DonaldMains SETTLE DOWN! I NEVER said the problems were Rogers FAULT!
Rogers threw for over 300 yds and 2 TDs. He made little to no mistakes (he did have that one botched fumble). He balled
Huskies were overthinking and this is a coaching issue.
Go Dawgs
Sugarcoating losses is BS, the team has talent, but the coaching is some of the worst I've seen in a long time.
When your RB is 9.4 ypc, it's absolutely a bad call. Rogers accuracy was suspect all night.
You have Coleman in the backfield.......Hello McFly!!!!
@@Jason-lk9yi what I’m saying is it was a TD if it wasn’t tipped. Sure we could have ran Coleman but it’s not guaranteed that he gets in. They been stuffed before. If he would have completed it nobody would be complaining about it.
This was a very bad loss but this is a year of teaching
Everyone knew this was going to be a rough year, I don't get why anyone is surprised by any of this. More of this is coming this season, it's going to be frustrating.

That should be fun.... I bet we'll see a packed stadium, there was still some empty places even during Northwestern.
Maybe UW will be better next weekend.
Will Rodger just ISNT getting it how many time did he throw it to the wrong receiver but I think they need a new offensive coordinator

I heard Jedd is tanking for the 1st pick of the draft
Fisch is terrible, some of his decisions defy even basic logic.

Why lose a year of eligibility on a bad team ?! Keep it red shirt
Rogers is hands down better than Williams
Crazy talk
@@ChadNoticerJake didn’t have a strong arm. Receivers continuously had to stop and wait for the long ball.
By no means did Jake Browning have a strong arm 😂 Browning had one of the weakest arms at Husky QB in quite sometime, he was accurate but he consistently underthrew Ross and Pettis.
Rutgers are just a pesky team. They do some things great and can beat alot of teams at the same time could go 4-8
With their schedule and how they e been playing it’s easy to see that the huskies may not win another game this season. Michigan, USC, Oregon are pretty much losses at this point let’s not kid ourselves and UCLA, Indiana and Iowa are toss ups. Ugly season with a terrible coach!

I've noticed that too, Will is NOT the type of running, charging QB that some of our opponents have had!
We wouldn't win another game if you bench Will for Demond
You guys are getting out of line. Please maintain your civility and professionalism.
And I totally agree for what it's worth I have been watching husky football a long time and I've seen 7 and 4 husky teams jump up and bite highly ranked teams in the country so don't give up on these guys yet.
