    So important to hold for a FULL 10 SECONDS. I don't trust counting to myself while doing my routine, in case I'm off on the time length. A long time back I bought an old-fashioned battery (9 volt.) metronome on Ebay and I turn it on before my workout. It is set at "60" beats, which means the red light on it flashes/blinks and goes"BIP" audibly every second. I watch it and listen to it while doing my holds. Never misses a beat!

      Hi, I've checked a couple other books I have on isometrics and none of them say to hold for 10 seconds! Some say 5 seconds, some 6 or 7, but not a full 10 seconds in any case. So, I'm wondering where you got that figure from. Thanks.

    Iron cross exercise develop
    The iron cross is a elite level exercise that demands a strong upper body.
    We know that strength training has a great effect on muscle growth and fat lost, (if done with little or no rest).
    Thus I was thinking, exercises like the planche, dragon flags and the iron cross demands such levels of core stability and upper body strength, that you will never see anyone who can perform them out of shape.
    So therefore would performing a progession with an exercise that activates the same muscle as a Iron cross, produce the same results, (a tight upper body?)
    BEHIND BACK COMPRESSION (LOWER)
    Is a very diffcult exercise, with a very small range of motion. However I think it may activate the muscles in a similar way to the iron cross. So my thinking is, if someone trains to get really strong at this compression they will gain the benefits too.
    What do you think?

    • @Bullworker
      @Bullworker  4 года назад

      Sounds very logical and strengths overlap!

    what is the compression strength of the springs? Is the compression that great?

    • @Bullworker
      @Bullworker  2 года назад

      You have 5 various resistance springs to use. We find it takes well over a 400 pound bench press for someone to be able to compress the unit fully with the most difficult spring.

    I'm using bullworker since 1985. there was a gap of some years due to medical reasons.Now I am using bullworker regularly. As it is recommended to perform exercises consecutively in circuit,I find it difficult. Instead I perform 2 or 3 sets of 20 reparations consecutively of an exercise.then I start second exercise.is it wrong?

    i am 62 yrs old, and i am doing BW 7 days a week, doing a specific muscle group each day meaning one day i do back only next day i do chest, and the rest ie: bicep, tricep, leg, shoulder and Abs. I do 3 hold of 10 sec and 2 sets of 10 reps for approximatly 10 to 15 exercises. Is this a good method to only do a muscle group once a week only. thanks.

    • @Bullworker
      @Bullworker  3 года назад +1

      This is a great option. Good work! Especially if you are going more for movement everyday rather than strength training.
      However, a good alternative would be to combine some routines so you are doing each muscle 2 or 3 x per week. You could even drop to 2 holds and 1 set and you will still be doing more of each per week. This will help better train your muscles rather than maintain.

    • @coladew
      @coladew 3 года назад +2

      @@Bullworker Thanks you so much. I will try to modify my program to include your suggestion. So for muscle gain, I would be better off doing a full body exercise (which includes 3 to 4 exercise per muscle group) vice doing 10 to 15 exercises only once a week for specific muscle group.

    • @Bullworker
      @Bullworker  3 года назад +1

      @@coladew Yes, we believe so. This way your muscle is getting worked 2 times for the week rather than one. One per week we tend to think more as maintenance.

    • @Bullworker
      @Bullworker  4 года назад +1

      Very happy to hear you are enjoying the videos! Keep us posted and stay tuned for more to come! We recommend increasing time under tension and reps before resistance. However, if you are following routines, increase tension when you feel you are fully compressing your current spring with ease for the reps. Yes, some videos are total body, some are upper body, etc. General rule is not to exercise a muscle to exhaustion two days in a row.
