The neck on the se silver sky is really comfortable. So true about smoothing out overtime. I can’t get enough of this instrument. I also play a ce 24. With the pattern thin neck. But the silver sky won’t let me be.🤪
I tried an SE Silver Sky a couple months ago at GC after seeing your previous videos about it. It was love at first strum. After stewing on it for about 2 weeks I picked up a used one on Reverb for $500. I play bass in a country band and sub in for our guitarists when one of them can't make a gig. This is my new go-to gig guitar. Thanks Tim!
Recently got my lefty....I'm a Tele guy thru and thru....Strats are OK. The SS SE is excellent....wonderful tonality that is as nice/rich as my MIA with Fralins or my '85 MIJ with Fender Custom Shop. Nice '63 neck....trem is solid. LOVE my SS SE!
Right on brother man. I love my DGT and McCarty SE's sooooo good. I do love the SS too. Don't have it yet, but it looks to be a banger. I just got the new LP Studio and that guitar crushes. :) Thanks or sharing your knowledge man. :)
They finally made a lefty and I got one of the first batch. I picked the lightest... and I am pretty amazed by it. I put a set of SS locking tuners and I'm all set.
I reckon PRS have created a modern classic with the SE SilverSky, coming from quality acoustics, seems to me that this is the electric guitar I been waiting for :-) play in a number of settings from worship to modern pop/rockish (no metal ;-) just me)
Got my lefty Storm Gray SE a few weeks ago. Had to make a small truss rod adjustment for some relief - the strings bend so effortlessly now. Other than that, it does all the things my younger self wished my old '05 MiM Strat could do. John and the PRS team really knocked it out with these guitars
Had to make a tough decision… had a silver Sky Se that I loved but play lead guitar in a band and mostly played my tele but needed a guitar with humbuckers so I traded my silver Sky for an SE DGT. Really looooving the DGT but will definitely get another silver Sky in the future! Have to do what you have to do sometimes
Hey Tim, the guitar sounds great! Discovered you a few months ago, what a great and refreshing take on both playing and showing behind the scenes content w band and touring life. what's your settings on your Amp and the tumnus pedal?
Hey Terry, thanks for watching and I'm glad you're enjoying it! Amp wise i move it around a lot so I don't have a good solid answer. I love to have it just warm enough and I tend to run the pre amps volumes lower than the master to get it cleaner. As for the tumnus I have the volume at 9 o'clock drive at 11 0'clock and tone to taste depending on which guitar I'm using. Hope this helps!
@@TimAvenMusic Cool, I thought maybe you knew someone who had a core model or you could barrow one from a shop you deal with and give them a plug on your channel. But, strat vs sky could be very cool, Thanks!!!
i'm super torn between this and the fender player ii hss.. i think i'm leaning towards the fender but i'm not a huge fan of the color options and vintage look while the ss se is gorgeous imo (other than the headstock)
I have a DGT SE and it feels and plays very nice. I recently ordered a Player II HSS Strat and it needed a new nut right off the bat. The first string was buzzing badly. So I sent it back and I'm strongly considering a SE Silver Sky to replace it. I guess if you can play the guitar before you buy it, you'll have a better experience than I did. I ordered mine from Sweetwater. Hope this helps!
"original" has been done, buy a unique guitar if that's what you want. The Silver Sky was designed specifically to honor a great initial take, while making some subtle improvements to playability and sound. The pickups and the satin neck are my two favorite elements. Sounds and plays better than my two other Strats (American Deluxe, and a stock Mexican), and the price was right (Sweetwater demo, looks mint).
I’m a novice self-taught player picking up the guitar 9 yrs ago at 50. Simply enjoy your videos, sincerity, and enthusiasm! Thanks, Tim!
I appreciate that, thank you for watching!

Little nod to the Dead👌🏻i bought one last year got it for 650 and i love it! Great video!
Had to get it in there! You got a deal!
I didn't like how thick the neck was at first but after a few months I REALLY like this guitar. I traded a Nintendo Switch for one 😀
I agree! I think it feels amazing in the hands of
Thanks very good video! thinking about picking one up soon

So glad you ended up liking it and got to bring one home! They really are awesome. Keep enjoying it!

Glad you got your lefty! I love it just as much as you do, congrats!
Just got mine and it definitely feels worth the $740 I paid
Really considering getting one soon

Heck yeah, both are awesome! Enjoy it!
@@TimAvenMusic Thanks brother. Keep playing.

Sounds like a killer setup! I need some of those locking tuners...

I agree, great to hear the lefty have finally been getting theirs. Hope you love it!
Love my SE silver sky

You’ve got to make that choice sometimes! The DGT and SE DGT are incredible guitars as well
Awesome fn job Tim. I may pick up a Silver Sky. I need lessons from you my friend
I’m happy to do one with you mark! Thanks for watching. If you’re interested you can reach out at timavenmusic@gmail.com !
Got DGT SE as my first guitar, I guess this will be a perfect single coil option later.
Both are incredible, SE DGT is awesome!
Your link to the $721 deal. That’s such a great price.
I think its well worth that!
I notice you don't have the trem bar in. Do you have it blocked?

Can you compare the SilverSky with your Strat and what about a comparison between the SE and Core SilverSky? Thanks Brah!
I don't have a core but comparing it to my american strat is a great video idea!

I love the way my SE feels, and I love the pickups, but I think I’m gonna put p90s in the neck
What would you say the sound difference is. Between the SS se and your fender Stratocaster. I’m looking for a warmer sounding Strat .
My Fender is defiantly a little warmer, but it also has noisless pickups which I really think make that difference
Man , you have more licks than an Ice - Cream Parlor!!!
Haha I'll take it!
What strings do you use on the silver sky se?
I just use elixers 10s
So unoriginal, they copy Fender. That says a lot.
