      360°/24/2=7.5°
      24 pieces of wood was used: 360/24=15 Since both sides of the wood make contact, 15/2=7.5.

      I don't understand why there's always that one guy. I've seen it from composting to making wooden planters. Either watch a different video, if you have no imagination, or adapt to something that works for you. We all know pawn shops have tools for fairly cheap. Maybe if you're not so grumpy to your neighbors, they'll loan you a tool. Good God, everyone forget their manners? This man is not required to build a certain way to keep your fee fees from being bent.

    How long do oak barrels last if used as a garden planter/container?

    • @CP-MakeItReal
      @CP-MakeItReal  5 лет назад +1

      I dont know. Since I am also very skeptical in this regard, I have only built a disguise/cover, so the wood is not in contact with the earth. The plants are in plastic pots. At the bottom I have attached small plastic feet so that no water comes from below to the wood. The wood only gets wet when it is raining or snowing. But then it can dry from all sides and will last a long time - I hope ;-)

    • @bigskydiy877
      @bigskydiy877 5 лет назад +1

      @@CP-MakeItReal if you line or coat the inside of the container with a marine epoxy (the kind they coat boats with), then it will not rot from the inside out and will be protected from wet soil. others have actually used fiberglass resin (which is a bit more expensive) to do the same thing...

    What angle do you cut them at

    • @CP-MakeItReal
      @CP-MakeItReal  4 года назад +3

    • @cindyfisher3149
      @cindyfisher3149 3 года назад

      @@johnanderson6187 You divide by two because each board has two sides. 360° divided by the number of boards gives you the angle for each board. Each board has two sides, so you divide the board’s angle by two.

    • @atomizer2665
      @atomizer2665 5 лет назад +2

      Even with the machines its a lot of work ;) Figuring the bevel angle is easy enough, a circle comprised of 24 boards is 360 / 24 / 2 = 7.5 degrees.

      @@CP-MakeItReal
      No sense in having the machines and not using them ;) You can make a cheap and cheerful circular planter cover by laying boards flat and tying them together on the inside with galvanised builders banding (metal strip with holes) and stainless screws. Cut angled pieces to form a top ring to finish it off. I recycled some old decking into covers for a couple of 25gal round plastic trashcans, 18" diameter x 30" tall. All you need is saw and a screwdriver ;)
