    I was 12 when I heard over the radio that Bin Laden was killed. My dad was working at the Pentagon on 9/11, and I was so so close to losing my father. My mom cried when I told her and my dad came home from work early to just hold us and to be there with us. Thank you to all the people who have served, and may this nation remember every single one.

    I was 11 years old and at this game. All I can remember is a drunk guy behind me screaming "We got him! We killed Bin Laden!" and I looked over to my dad and asked if the guy was serious. Soon enough the stadium went insane. One of the most surreal experiences of my life. It was a horrible game in general but that 1 thing made it unforgettable.

    • @sponkilyjonkily
      @sponkilyjonkily 6 месяцев назад

      I had nearly the exact same experience at this game. I was 14 and remember everyone sharing the news and looking at my dad and brother wondering if it was real, and confirming after they checked their phones. I believe there was an announcement during a beak in the game?

    I love how everyone looked to each other and said it to their neighbor these people were probably strangers.
    I got chills when they started chanting USA! My whole body with chills!!
    I love how everyone was saying it didn’t matter who won. no one cared.

    • @hotcurryketchup9451

      Funny how the death of a man is celebrated with enthusiasm instead of thinking about the people who died on that horrible day. Killing that man doesn’t make the things he did undone. He is just dead there is nothing to it. He even died in the believe to go to his heaven. But using these horrible things as an excuse to destroy middle eastern countries because of the terrorist hotspots in them for wich the US is partly responsible is even worse. Even worse than that is the american people not questioning anything (atleast the ones shown) rather falling into a state of mass hysteria because of a killing fixing nothing.

    At the time, I was living in Manayunk, a suburb of Philadelphia. The town is full of bars and restaurants, so it is always quite noisy. I remember this day as the loudest night, as the chants of "USA USA" kept going on even though it was late night.
    I am back in Japan now, but in my three years of living in the U.S., I have never seen Americans so patriotic.
