- The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is the remaster/expansion to The Stanley Parable, bringing the original game and new content and endings to computers and consoles alike.
Since there hasn’t been much word from us on the game’s development, we thought it would be fun to have the narrator respond to a few of the various emails and messages that you’ve sent us over the last year. We hope you enjoy it, and we thank you for your continued support of this project!

Why do you need to jump? There's no jumping required for the story whatsoever. If anything, it inhibits their ability to create the game as they have to factor in whether or not the player could escape the intended location.
The Stanley Parable has always been about control; about the illusion of choice. I feel like the lack of ability to jump only strengthens this theme and bulster's the game's memorability.

I've played the game plenty of times and never discovered a single bug.
I felt like the game was an incredible experience and a brilliant satire on the concept of control.
I rate it as one of the highest in my library.

When you haven't played the Stanley parable for 5 years to get the achievement legitimately, only to find out it's getting new content.
I'm surprised that it took them multiple years to create The Stanely parable: ULTRA DELUXE EDITION and yet they only added the jump circle. What could've taken them so long to add that? At least Stanely parable 2 was a bit better. The bucket was pretty cool in that one.

Update (December 7, 2019): while crows crows crows still didn't reply to my mail, I asked the same question in their discord server and they said that while they can't promise anything they are also not completely ruling it out at this point, so maybe it will get vr support after all! :D

I think the Metroid Prime 4 delay was also well-delivered. Nintendo practically fell to their knees begging us to forgive them. That’s pretty humbling.

I'd say that once you voice a character over 60 years old, your voice kinda just is that character. Dislike if i'm wrong.
I mean the dude is a legitimate voice artist, both voice acting and actual documentary voice over material. He's also a grown man, so his vocal chords are quite done developing. Those pipes won't start withering until his face does first, and Kevin Brighting isn't very old at all. Bet he'll sound the exact same in 2030 when we get The Stanley Parable 2 ;)

@@parknplay8328 Not exactly. Even before the time of expansions, patches, or DLC, people could make newer versions of older games. It just wasn't worth the trouble if the game did poorly.
As for modern times, we all were shocked at how No Man's Sky seemed to kill everyone's expectations with its release. But nowadays thanks to updates and patches, it's actually the game that people had been expecting. So it was a bad game that now has better content.

Back in the day if you released a game that either had game breaking bugs or bad gameplay your best bet was to either invest in another game or do better in the sequel.

A lot of The Stanley Parable (2013) was built on assets from Portal 2, in the Source engine branch that Portal 2 runs on. That could be why.

I've been looking forward to THE STANLEY PARABLE: ULTRA DELUXE and excited to see the new endings, but something has been bothering me. When you delayed the game, you delayed it to 2021.
Is that really feasible?
Does only three years of development give you enough time to make the game the best it could be? THE STANLEY PARABLE is special to me and I just want this new iteration to be as high quality as possible, no matter how long it takes.

The whole point of the game is breakings out of the status quo having your own feelings being free from the mind control but in this case you are still being controlled for the simple fact you have the same recommendations

A few years ago when I was around 14 or 15, I sent Kevan Brighting a fan letter because I loved his voicework in TSP. I got a custom sound byte in response, as well as a phone call that was likely made at like 3 in the morning his time because I live in the US.
He's such a kind person, and I believe that this kindness is what inspired him (and only him, no other team members were involved in the decision) to personally delay the game.
He is a fantastic guy. I met him at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth and VERY funny.

there are more easter eggs but just from looking at this frame by frame you can see a lot of hard work and detail, this will be the best gift of 2020.

While it took a long time for DNF to come out, the game that was actually released was rushed and only had about a year and a half of development time on it tops.
