It's doing great in ratings. FBC isn't a commercial failure and I'm glad a lot of people are enjoying it. This is just my take on why adaptations like this don't work for me.
"she's a human being..............yeah." Hahahahaha, savage. I knew this adaptation wasn't for me after I watched the soft focus teaser that barely shows the FL. Like, where is that tiny big personality girl that is the magnetic pole of this story? Hard pass. But, after watching your video, I may have to revisit my terrible idea of watching all the adaptations of Fated to Love You. (Spoiler: the Chinese version is real bad, and apparently the Japanese remake only tells half the story as a season 2 was abandoned.) Anyways, to characters who are human beans. May they find some personality or stay out of our favorite stories.
🤣 Oh my god I forgot about the Fated To Love You adaptations! I watched the first part of the japanese version! Yes, maybe just rewatch the kdrama one. I know Family By Choice has an audience who are enjoying it so I feel a bit bad for trashing it, but not very much. They ruined something I liked very much to make something barely passable. Defenders of this drama will never even think to re-watch this in the future. It'll fade out of their memory like so many other mid stories. Gah.
It's just a matter of taste! I love kdrama adaptation! I don't see this one but i disagree with you and Philippines adapted so much kdrama from Stairway to heaven, green rose, 49days and it was bad specially acting! And Full house a kdrama was adapted in others countries! And hollywood too loves to adapted something that works in others countries but doesn't let to air broadcast the original version, i hate hollywood. We can't compare Hollywood and their lack of creativity with adaptation of others countries and remake, reboot of their story lol and Kdrama that don't do that and have so much creativity and don't adapt a lot! Family by choice i didn't see it yet and because i finished Love next Door that i love and i know you didn't like it even if Love next door is good! Family by choice is similar to Love next door and at that time i didn't want to see something similar. The funny point: the child actress who played in Love next door the child version of jung so min's character played also in Family by choice the child version too and i saw her everywhere in Hellbound season 2 too
You know, I did end up enjoying Love Next Door after the halfway mark. Once the conflicts were all out in the open, the drama seemed to find its footing. I was much happier with it at that point. 😄 And I completely appreciate your disagreement on Family By Choice. I know a lot of viewers are enjoying the drama, and some even prefer it to Go Ahead. It's up to personal taste, like you said. I won't quibble on that. For me, these were the reasons I felt like the show didn't add anything fun or meaningful to the story, but again, I don't know if I would have felt that way if I had watched FBC before Go Ahead. Maybe I would have liked it a lot more. I'm okay with it being my own bias. And I'm sure we'll agree on other dramas down the road. 😌

I watched not only go ahead but also family by choice. I love Korean one instead of Chinese one.

Yeah I don't think she was the right fit for this character. She's a good actor, just not the right one to play the kdrama version of Jian Jian.
