Its true the bible describes GOD as awesome so its a word HE uses to describe his power so i guess using the same word for some tools, even though not meant in that way is a little disrespectful and as a religous man it got my conscience

I'm an electrian in Sweden. Knipex and Wera are my go to brands, quality is hard to beat!
I prefer the normal blue/red handles over 1000V. Just because they take up much less space in pocket and toolbox. I've tested the blue/red handles on 230 and 400V with no issues.
I like having a spring on my pliers. But want it selectable, like Bahco pliers have.
Love the small 125 pliers wrench, so nimble and nice to have in pocket when you need one.
Same with the 180 self adjusting plier, use it when tightening down cable glands doesn't destroy them like normal pliers do. And generally when you want to grip something and not leave a mark afterwards.

That's a pretty expansive selection you have there Dan. I just lost my adjustable spanner, so I might indulge in a pair to those ratcheting pliers, also got my eye on a pair of Knipex StriX, wire strippers / shears.

My fave side cutter from Knipex are the X Cuts . Reasonably short , very powerful cutters. I have two pairs , one in comfort grip , and a 1KV pair . Like you , I like the 125 mm’s ! Also a big fan of the Electrical Installation Pliers , again , I have two pairs !

I’m not an electrician but I used to be a 1st class lineman and I wish I would’ve known about the Knipex cobras 20 years ago. They are way nicer than the channel locks we all used.

That's not how ESD handtools work tho.
They "earth" with you, as long as you are earthed.
So you, or the pliers canT fart out electrostatic discharge.
You know that ESD bracelet? Wear it when using ESD hand tools and really need that ESD protection :)

How much more are Insulated tools in England as compared to non insulated? Over here it's almost 20-40 dollars more.

    • @Subzero2151
      @Subzero2151 3 года назад +1

I dont think there is that much of a difference, especially when your talking big names like knipex, i feel your honestly better just always going for the 1000v protection, or if your not going to be near any electrical work the red and blue handles version, in the UK anyway

@@Subzero2151 I just use meters, in America non of us use 1,000 V insulated unless it's live, insulated Kleins are as expensive as non insulated Knipex in the 50-80 range, I do have insulated tools but I don't need them, in my field I can turn the power off and keep it off lock it out and easily find our if it's off.

I love my Knipex pliers collection too. Too bad Knipex does not make their own locking pliers so I bought a set of Facom and Gedore locking pliers. The Knipex locking pliers I did buy had rusting on the joints so I returned them to Amazon. I also have a set of Engineer Japan screw extraction pliers and that is one type of pliers Knipex don't manufacture.

I have seen a set of mole grips if that's what you mean by knipex. I think they have shared a few platforms with gedore. And no I think that's engineers little baby that extracting pliers. I just don't know why the vampliers cost so much more than the negisaurus when they are exactly the same thing

SMAEL is not a good watch nor is it a “well constructed” watch. They are basically cheap Chinese made G-shock copycats and are not worth the price. They do Not last. I don’t recommend you get another one. A 100$-200$ g-shock will last forever, especially compared to these Smael watches. It’s well worth the investment IMO.
