I wouldn't care if people don't like some things about the project .. I think it's neat and one cool rig. You've got talent young man. Love watching you work.
As everyone else has said, you built it for you, and I think it turned out awesome. I was wondering when you started raising the roof what you were planning, but it turned out great. I have really enjoyed watching the meter maid go from start to finish, and I learned a lot watching you bring it to life, and doing the modifications to it. It really did turn out just right, it all looks good together, and the rusting process looks good. Keep up the great work, and showing us your videos and all the wrench turning on the rusty junk, you really do a great job, one step at a time bringing it all back to life. Can't wait to see the next project.
Hi Mustie I thought we would see a slide out floor section to support the bikes and create a hidden storage area for the tiedown straps etc. The floor rings a good idea and so pratical. The finished look for the project will be great when you wet sand and blend. Keep up the good work.
Musti One, remind those who want you to do this, to do that. Like you said a long time ago. Yous are doing it Your Way! And that is what makes you the Artist that you have always been. Everyone gets a bit "worn out" on a project. Just let her cook outside, and move on to other things. Refresh yourself.
Nice job Mustie. You are a blast to watch. I binge watched the series over a couple weeks and enjoyed every minute. You're very entertaining and I always learn something. Thanks for all the effort to put these videos together.
Looking really good Daren I think the weather outside when you park it up will finish it off great and blend it all in.Who would have thought something so small would take so much work but have enjoyed the ride with you.
I enjoyed the ride to the car wash. How many times have mechanics needed help getting home from the car wash? But the highlight of that reel was getting to visit with the nice city policewoman. I don't know your friend yet, but the camera handoff and "keep it rolling" was perfect. Kudos to your buddy.
Got to admit that, when you first started with the elevated roof idea, I wasn't too keen on it...but now that it is coming to fruition, I love it!! Soo kewl...you have great artistic vision!!
I've done several fake patinas and I brush a light coat of muriatic acid on the bare metal and let it air dry before I spray the peroxide. It will instantly foam up with rust and leave weathered streaks. I let that sit for a day and then oil the rusty areas with WD40 to turn them into the darker brown rust.
Rusting adventures by Mustie ,nice adjustments looks like going to age to great vintage thanks for the showing the plan some how there's a methodology to your madness fun video I got a little buzz from the fumes I'm much better now looking forward tomorrow rustariffic crusting !!!!
COPPER SULFATE (root killer) will rust steel crazy fast. Dissolve the blue crystals in water and spray on. Works on brass/bronze too... makes it green.
Drive it around on heavily traveled roads, you know what the salt does to our vehicles here in the great North-East. Or gather up some of the road-slush and soak an old towel in it to use on the metal you want rust on. Great job so far!
Might want to consider extending the front rain gutter to entire length of the vehicle. You mentioned a trim piece for the top -- make sure it's functional!
I just picked up a Cushman truckster for my nephew it looks just like yours except for an open bed and the doors have been removed , I filed the points a little broke clutch disk from the flywheel and it's driving , no brakes yet though .
@Mustie1 I commend you for sticking to your guns and wanting to keep it rusty and the patina and doing the build the way you wanted. Yes, there are things I would have done differently, but then it wouldn't be the way you wanted it, it would be the way I wanted it. Myself, I would have gotten rid of all the rust and painted the entire thing to look like new. But, I understand that isn't the way you wanted it and can understand why.
I always loved the rusty look on vintage items, you've done a fantastic job on this project and I'm going to use your tricks to getting the rusty look on my car (I'm going for an industrial theme paint job).
Gonna have to start callin you "rusty mustie" Really enjoying this project. Perhaps some led lighting under the roof in back to shine on whatever bike (or whatever) you have in the back?
For the inside of the bed , I'd consider black spray on be liner . That would also help break up the large ammt of blue color. Maybe flat black on the bars ? The ice burnouts were fun .
Finally see the Cushman again, and you're putting it away! But it is getting close, and if you ever need to speed that aging you could take your little hand torch/map bottle and slightly tinge areas, then when outside they'll dark rust quickly. Am a bit concerned about that Hydrogen peroxide dripping in the rear end and parts/= body back there, but know you will keep an eye on it when you do get back to it. Am looking forward to the double cab again, although it sounds like you have quite a few things before that, so bring those projects on! (and film when you can please)
Wait for the next snow bring it out for a ride up and down the street after they plowed and salted then park it ! I'm just a few miles from you in Lowell,Ma and it seems to be working for my truck. But I wish I could stop it!!
Darth Mustie (breathing in respirator) Cushman I am your builder! Lol great video as always. My son an I went and watched the new Star Wars movie last night, so that was fresh on my mind. Lol
WOW, 2 hours in, and already 7000 hits. I've been looking for your latest upload to give you an idea I'd like to see. How about an upload of your bloopers, I don't know about anyone else but I need a good laugh once in a while. You do great work, and I like the way you conduct yourself. I use to fix everything I could find and resell it, now I'm retired and just watch the world go by.
I’d be glad to donate some of the rust from my Jeep. It’s got plenty to spare........... BTW, your soap is acting as a surfactant. Helps to break down the surface tension.
mighty car mods years ago did a segment on how to rust your vehicle. they used water different beers and urine. urine worked the fastest and over night. probably all the salt. they used a 2000's vw golf to do it on. they turned so many heads at a car show.
on the top hinges I think you should put a half cone shaped like a ramp going to the first bar so if somebody walks into it it just pushes them off its not a dead stop
Still don't know why Mustie didin't welded 2 angled ringes instead of two vertical (with that one siticking out so far from the cushman body). Sure the door once opened doesn't stay "half opened", but the looks and "sensible" as I am, I'm not super confortable with that plates sticking out (may catch something while manouvering or even baddly someone getting hurt when walking around the vehicle).
Looks cool, but I originally thought the bars were for added strength.. and you were going to wrap it with sheet metal, to make it look like a mini bus.. the bars sure to make it look creepy looking lol 😆
You need to go across the center with square bar level with the hinges that's the way jails cells are made and kind of blend in and hide the hinge sticking out so much on top prisoners can pull apart that rebar and Escape
Should have put just a very light coat of paint on it sprayed it down with the solution and set it up with heat lamps on it turning them off and on allowing the steel to sweat with spraying it with the solution from time to time that way the paint would fade along with the steel rusting.
That`s cool Cushman as a kid we had a sleigh we`d haul bales on never guessed it was the roof off one of these ,, Could almost use a rebar across the the center bars then bent to the edge of the hinge as a gusset incase of hitting something won`t bend the hinge , And to hold anybody HA HA I know to guys so skinny they would walk right thru that cage LOL..
I wouldn't care if people don't like some things about the project .. I think it's neat and one cool rig.

I think I've watched the whole cushman series by now... what a fun project. What a fun channel!
Hi Mustie
I thought we would see a slide out floor section to support the bikes and create a hidden storage area for the tiedown straps etc. The floor rings a good idea and so pratical. The finished look for the project will be great when you wet sand and blend. Keep up the good work.
I've watched this project from the beginning and have really enjoyed it! Thanks for your time in documenting it so Thoroughly. It's been fun to watch.
I've just binge watched the whole Cushman playlist and I've really enjoyed it. Thanks! Love your channel.
I have a habit of always liking your videos before I even watch them, please keep up the great content.
Looking good. It's pretty amazing watching stuff from a junk pile slowly becoming a neat toy! Great work there Mustie!
Musti One, remind those who want you to do this, to do that. Like you said a long time ago. Yous are doing it Your Way! And that is what makes you the Artist that you have always been. Everyone gets a bit "worn out" on a project. Just let her cook outside, and move on to other things. Refresh yourself.
your a true artist when it comes to saving junk from the scrape pile tis
a thing of beauty
Nice job Mustie. You are a blast to watch. I binge watched the series over a couple weeks and enjoyed every minute. You're very entertaining and I always learn something. Thanks for all the effort to put these videos together.

Nature is the best way to get the look you would prefer. I really like how the floor is looking at the end of this video.
I've done several fake patinas and I brush a light coat of muriatic acid on the bare metal and let it air dry before I spray the peroxide. This has been an amazing little journey watching you repair and transform this little Cushman. I have really enjoyed this. Great stuff!
Shaping up nicely. Enjoying the project immensely. Looking forward to the next!
You are the master. Can’t believe Hollywood hasn’t called for one of you creations.
COPPER SULFATE (root killer) will rust steel crazy fast. Dissolve the blue crystals in water and spray on. Works on brass/bronze too... makes it green.
You could get a magnetic red beacon for the roof, so you can take it off while on the road and put it back on at shows.
Drive it around on heavily traveled roads, you know what the salt does to our vehicles here in the great North-East. Or gather up some of the road-slush and soak an old towel in it to use on the metal you want rust on. Great job so far!
I didn't think the blue bars would look good but after seeing it, you definitely made the right decission! 😊
Mustie I've have really enjoyed the Cushman series ! What a build. Can't wait to see what's next.
Might want to consider extending the front rain gutter to entire length of the vehicle. You mentioned a trim piece for the top -- make sure it's functional!
Looks fantastic - and great series. Can't wait to see pics of it loaded with bikes at a show.
But it looks awesome. Like the fact that you are keeping it old but usable. Would definitely be a fun toy to own. Great job.
Hey Mustie, seems like your project is taking on an art type characteristic to it. Keep em coming, we love em.
I just like how mustie1 always have an encore after saying "later guys" a genuine show-man and a true performer
I just picked up a Cushman truckster for my nephew it looks just like yours except for an open bed and the doors have been removed , I filed the points a little broke clutch disk from the flywheel and it's driving , no brakes yet though .
Excited to see the paint go on the double cab. Thats been an awesome project. Looking forward to all the VW stuff too. Thanks for bringing us along :)
Great project musty, love the old cart
Everything in Mustie's shop is now slightly more blue. Fastback next? Excellent.
@Mustie1 I commend you for sticking to your guns and wanting to keep it rusty and the patina and doing the build the way you wanted. Perfect timing! I leave in 2 days for basic training. Looks like I won't miss too much
Kenny Hynes thank you
Kenny Hynes good luck at boot camp .....what branch of service?
I always loved the rusty look on vintage items, you've done a fantastic job on this project and I'm going to use your tricks to getting the rusty look on my car (I'm going for an industrial theme paint job).
Thanks for the videos Mustie, please keep them coming, cheers Chris.
I watched every episode of the Cushman. Better than anything on the big screen.
Gonna have to start callin you "rusty mustie" Really enjoying this project. Perhaps some led lighting under the roof in back to shine on whatever bike (or whatever) you have in the back?

A paying gig! Ya gotta like that. Happy for you and sad for us. You get the cash and we get to miss being in the shop!
Mustie1 I have really been enjoying your channel and watching this project transform. It turned out very nice.
That is looking great! Nice work!
Also like the artwork on the side of the garage, nicely done as well!
Ferric Chloride is the stuff to make steels rust. It's used as an etchant for printed circuit boards.
I think that the backside of those top hinges would be a good place for some reflectors. Kind of hide them.
Love your videos and I don't think I'm the only one. Over 10,000 views and it's only been posted for a few hours. Keep it up.
Darth Mustie (breathing in respirator) Cushman I am your builder! Lol great video as always. My son an I went and watched the new Star Wars movie last night, so that was fresh on my mind. Lol
Allen E , I haven't seen star wars in a long time and that was my 1st thought. Lol
Your driveway is in the same ice covered condition as mine. The joys of North Eastern eastern North America.
the colour match is perfect. it looks good.
Distilled white vinegar mixed with water neutralizes rust. Shops use it all the time when doing rust repair.
You've got such a great sense of humor, the Cushman is hysterically cool.
WOW, 2 hours in, and already 7000 hits. I've been looking for your latest upload to give you an idea I'd like to see. Hopefully we haven't seen the last of the Cushman. Keep up the great work!
Nice series. It has a bit of everything.
Sounds like "Darth Vader" sprayin' the Cushman ... ? Nice job Mustie1 .... Regards from the UK ... ;-)
Thanks for the fun series...
You need to do a project with Adam Savage (Tested) sometime. I'll miss the Cushman.
Great progress! Now you need to find an old 60s style roof top sirien.
It looks awesome only thing that I would do is put wider wheels on the back to give it a bit more cartoony look?keep up the great work.
WILL MISS the cushman it is my favorite projekt you have
ceap up your great videos hope fore more exelent peace and love from norway vikings
Very Nice work My friend, she looks cool and now just Time and she will be Mint. Cheers Dizzy.
I like the tailgate cables. Just like my old ford ranger.
I’d be glad to donate some of the rust from my Jeep. It’s got plenty to spare........... BTW, your soap is acting as a surfactant. Helps to break down the surface tension.
Looks great....thanks for my Mustie fix.
Them mice were just waiting for you to bring it out to get into the freshly cleaned air ducts!
gubr.. that's just what I was thinking, how ironic would it be if critters made a home in it again ??
Just lock a cat inside. Case closed :-))
I am gonna miss this project. It was silly good fun and I learned a lot.
Simon from the UK here.... Bloody great video as normal 😁
Very cool! Great series. Thanks for the videos.
mighty car mods years ago did a segment on how to rust your vehicle. they used water different beers and urine. urine worked the fastest and over night. probably all the salt. they used a 2000's vw golf to do it on. they turned so many heads at a car show.
that was the first thing I thought of, that's a great guide showing the effects of different liquids for fast rusting.
looking great, but im with you, looking forward to some different projects
on the top hinges I think you should put a half cone shaped like a ramp going to the first bar so if somebody walks into it it just pushes them off its not a dead stop

You are the only one that wants rust LOL :-D
Some dibbled brown paint and fine sand might make it look old too.
Apparently you have never watched Roadkill or Dirt Every Day.
Drifting a 3 wheeler in the snow 😁
Great vid as usual 👍
you find some of the coolest stuff greatest bargains than anyone else i know i wish i was that lucky your you tube videos are fantastic
It is blending very nice . Great job sir :)
That vehicle is from the Rust Enforcement Agency. Watch out! Thanks for sharing the experience.
Love how this project has taken on a Tom Daniel vibe!
Poor Cushman.. gonna be left outside again, it thought it was safe in Musties garage ;)
thanks for the video as always!!
Cushman pickup would be a great toy out here in Arizona. Where you could drive it year round.
Looks like something they would use on Bourbon St. On a Saturday Night.
May it Rust In Peace
Another great video thanks for that. Hope we can see some vids of the vw work
Maybe also you can put a bunch of old nuts and washers of different sizes on a rope and swing it against the painted surfaces to make chips/dents.
if you want to rust it you can use straight vinegar it has acid in it, add a little dish sope
I just realized that you can fit a rather larger crowed in such a small camera.
I guess with a camera you are never really alone.
It's always exciting to see what's next. Congrats on 10k in a month. :)
Mustie you trying them there one handed Harvey Spooner Donuts!!! LOL
like a fine wine just let it age? I would like to help out with the rubber mat for the floor of it, let me know the type and size. Looking good
Looks and sounds great!!
Top Job Mustie. well done!
Don't let the rats get in it and ruin the heater
Should have put just a very light coat of paint on it sprayed it down with the solution and set it up with heat lamps on it turning them off and on allowing the steel to sweat with spraying it with the solution from time to time that way the paint would fade along with the steel rusting.
If he tried to comply with every "should have" that was posted, he would be a raving lunatic.
I had that exact same blinker on a 68 jeep cj5 factory equipment. Had the Buick dauntless v6
Well done , can't wait for the next projects
That`s cool Cushman as a kid we had a sleigh we`d haul bales on never guessed it was the roof off one of these ,, Could almost use a rebar across the the center bars then bent to the edge of the hinge as a gusset incase of hitting something won`t bend the hinge , And to hold anybody HA HA I know to guys so skinny they would walk right thru that cage LOL..
Your art on the wall is cool , at the end of the video
