Eve addressed the whole secret identity thing when she talked to Mark. "If people don't expect to see a superhero, they dont." Mark is a fan of Teen Team, probably follows their social media, and has been schoolmates with Eve for years and never put it together.
I think Eve's "ugh" was more because Rex basically used Mark as an (attempt to a) excuse, then that she was discugsted about the idea of dating Mark. I also think that she went to Marks window because she needed a friend, not because was like "I'll guess I go date Mark now"
There is a lot to be said about expectations when it comes to secret identities. Like, the good modern example is Henry Cavil, wearing a superman shirt, standing in times square under a billboard with him as superman on it, and no one recognized him. It's like, you'd never expect to run into superman walking down the street, so your brain doesn't even consider it a possibility.
Eve may have shrugged off the idea of being with Mark to his face on the way to Mount Rushmore. But you have to remember they are teenagers they don't always know what sort of signals they are sending. You can even see that after the 20:41 mark ( after you cut the video so you'll have to check the show itself ) that Eve starts to lean in for a hug/kiss RIGHT as Mark realizes he needs to go home and is pulling away. Makes her stumbling on Mark and Amber a bit more heart breaking when you realize she thinks she's missed her chance by mere seconds.
This world is saturated with heroes so it's common for people to not know some. If there are thousands of heroes, its kinda hard to know all of them like celebrities in our world i cant keep track of all. i absolutely love rex as a character because i feel like he's obviously an asshole, but he's relatable too, like he does shitty things but he still is very human. I think he's very interesting, a character that you both love to hate and love to love! though the liking him thing kind of sets in way way further down the line. Amber on the other hand starts out with some of the best interactions in mark's arc, but also ends up with the lowest lows of the series.
Outside of any (possible) motivations Robot may have for keeping the same group he'd been working with, it makes sense to keep on some people you've worked with before. He would know their abilities, how they work, how they work together, and it'd be easier to incorporate a handful of new people into that already existing dynamic rather than starting from scratch with an all new team. Especially since he's on a bit of a time crunch to replace the Guardians.
Fun Fact: Mount Rushmore is located in the Black Hills, which are the sacred burial ground of the Dakota tribes so they can't go there to honor their ancestors without having to look up at four faces of former Presidents whose policies are quite likely responsible for the suffering and deaths of some of those ancestors.
Maybe indirectly, but I don't think those four specific presidents were ones who instituted policies that were particularly harmful to the Dakota tribes specifically.

I honestly think it's hilarious there is a cartoon depicting a madman destroying a monument to the man who abolished slavery, shouting "Racist slave owners!" and people agree. xD
Yeah, the whole "Nobody recognizes them while they're wearing their superhero costumes" was a deliberate dig against the common superhero trope in comics and movies exemplified by Superman and the whole idea that Pulitzer award winning journalist Lois Lane can't recognized that Clark Kent is Superman simply because he has glasses on. Or that no one can make out that that's Bruce Wayne's chin (or voice) simply because he has a cowl on. ......and the less said about Diana Prince/Wonder-Woman,......the better for all (she just ties her hair up as her alter-ego, I believe) So yeah, it was making fun of that idea more than anything.

It's a good adaptation. Most of the changes are for the better imo. I think Eve was given the short end by giving Marks girlfriend the "environmentalism" characterization though, that was a big part of Eve's character. Now she kind of looks like a full time hero and pining for Mark with nothing more to her.
Eve doesn't appear to be pining, though. In the TV series she seems somewhat interested, at least willing to consider the possibility but Amber was the one completely into Mark. Rex should have broken up with Eve first for sure....BUT !!!!! If I was Rex I would have assumed Eve was cheating on me....She does spend a lot of time with Invincible, who is not ugly, and who she also goes to school with for many hours a day....all im saying is that Rex should have called Eve before he went in the shower and broken up with her first, if he done that, everything would have been fine
If you assume your girlfriend is cheating on you.... damn the self esteem problems. He's super insecure and she's not and they aren't very compatible. Cheating isn't ok at all. Even Amber flirting with the frat dude was gross.
I started reading the comics after having watched the show and so far, I'm really disappointed. I'm only on issue 7 or 8 or something so I know the good stuff is yet to come but a lot of the things that were different in the comics were just very bad in my opinion and I think it's good that they changed them in the show. Like just for a small example, the moment Mark thinks of his name, isn't his father training with him and giving him an honest speech, telling him he actually is invincible (which is a fairly powerful and impactful moment, as it should be, since it's the moment he gets his name) but instead, in the comics, it's just his principal reprimanding him for getting in a fight and telling him he isn't invincible, after all. And that just falls completely flat, who gives a shit about this principal, why is he the one to give Mark the idea for his name? And yeah, that's just a small example, but there's a lot of stuff like that that I noticed which makes the comic books so far feel very boring and without interesting characters or actual stakes. Plus, having William not be a nerdy gay guy but an insufferable sexist (straight) asshole... yeah, glad they changed that too. Edit: Oh and in the Atom Eve and Rex Splode prequel comics, having Art and Rex both leering after Eve after she flies away (in an even more skimpy outfit than in the show) is just really gross, especially from Art who's like at least 50 drooling after a teenager, eurgh. Why did Kirkman feel the need to put that in there?
@@krystofdayne fair enough. I don't want to get into it here because it's early days and I don't want to mention any possible spoilers. But most of my issues with this has an outlet, in a youtube video called "The worst Thing about Invincible." Once this season is over, I encourage you and funnylilgalreacts to watch it. The narrator nearly perfectly echos my sentiments. But I do agree with you that in some ways, the cartoon did make better choices, while in others, not so much. Overall, I still think the comics are better though.
This comic makes fun of the superhero identity trope. They make it obvious on purpose yet people still don't catch on. Black Sampson used to have powers and they faded do he replaced them with a power suit.
They didn't re-animate the body. The act of putting that cap on the top of the neck stimulated the nerves, causing the body to move temporarily. This is a real thing that can happen to recently dead bodies.
I don’t think you have the same definition of what makes a good wingman as most teenage boys. ;) I didnt interpret Eve’s noise of disgust when flying w Mark as directed towards the notion of dating Mark. I think it was because Rex was wrong in his assumption & just immediately started sleeping around w a mutual friend & that he thought that was an acceptable response.
@@angramainyu9220 that would have been the absolute bare minimum Kate should have done. But she didn't. And as such it is just as much her fault as it was Rex's. Yeah, she isn't the one in the relationship with Eve, but she knew damn well that Rex and Eve were together. She just didn't care. She was too selfish to care if Rex was lying or not. She just jumped on the opportunity that presented itself and hurt her friend in the process.
Lol, Omni Man kills some good guys, tragic. Omni Man commits mass genocide on an entire planet to take vengeance on a small militia, awesome, so badass...
Honestly, I think I could get used to being a hero with crazy powers, but man, I'd get lost ALL THE TIME. Gov: "Fly to Okinawa in Japan to fight an Oni!" Me: "Riiiight... Any chance I could use Google Maps for that?"
Yeah rex ia a hard character to like. But he does have the best story arc of any of the characters. His back story and eventual story are heartbreaking and amazing. He is my fav.
Eve wasn't disgusted with the idea of dating Mark. She was disgusted with the fact that Rex lied about it, and that Kate believed the lie and acted on it.
Can you please, please react to the global blockbuster movie RRR's official trailer and the movie itself (available on Netflix) & then to the upcoming blockbuster Brahmāstra movie's official trailer?🙏❤ Please..................... 🙏🙂
It's not that hard to believe that people don't know who Omni-man is. 1. How often do you go into your back yard and look directly up? 2. Even if you did that, and saw somebody flying around in the sky, would you be able to recognize them from 500+ ft away, looking up at them from below? 3. How many times have you ever not recognized a friend/co-worker because you just saw them for the first time without their glasses on? This has happened to me several times. 4. It is just like Eve told Mark. Normal people don't walk around expecting to see a super hero. And they especially don't expect to see a super hero at their school, dressed in normal people clothing. Just like in the real world, you don't walk into Wal-Mart expecting to see a famous Hollywood actor, or MLB star. And if they are there, walking around like a normal person wearing normal clothing, you likely won't even notice them. They are just another 1 of 500 people in the store that day that you tune out and ignore. 5. Nolan might be a "good looking man" but that's when he's wearing his skin tight suit, flying around, doing heroic things. When he's not being a super hero, he's just another middle aged dad in a sweater and jeans. There are a million other guys just like him. 6. Just because Eve knows that Mark is Invincible doesn't mean she would know that Mark's dad is Omniman. It isn't like it is public knowledge that Nolan Grayson is Omniman. 7. We as the audience are privy to information that the people in this fictional world don't have. Things seem obvious to us because we already know the answer. We are told within the first 2 minutes of the show who Omniman is. If we were shown Omniman from the perspective of people in this world, the vast majority of whom never even see him in real life, it would become very clear very quickly it isn't that easy to figure out his identity. Assuming he even has a secret identity. There is really no reason to assume Omniman would even bother having a secret identity. He could just be Omniman 24/7 for all anybody knows. And besides ALL of that, even if somebody did know Omniman and got close enough to really see his face and hear his voice, and knew he had a secret identity, it still wouldn't matter because that person would also have to know who the hell Nolan is. Who's Nolan? He's not some world famous superstar. He's just a dad who writes moderately successful travel books. Nobody would recognize him on a day to day basis. So who the hell is going to associate Omniman with Nolan anyway?
Amber becomes a weirdly divisive character for some reason in the fans. Mostly though, she's seventeen, but be prepared for comments about her. And Robot is one of those characters who makes a number of questionable decisions but I remember being so confused, but it ends up making sense. And Debbie will surprise you.
Even though I'm ok with the series making some changes from the comics like making Amber black, I don't like that they changed Shrinking Ray to woman the show already has strong female characters without having to gender swap them.

Just as Omni-man wasn't a member of the Guardians of the Globe; Invincible isn't a member of Team Teen. However Invincible still works hand-in-hand with the new Guardians of the Globe (aka Team Teen).
Yeah, Invincible really *burned* your toast joke.
I have an answer to all your questions and theories: Time will tell.
Love the puns. I think you'd like the comics even more than the cartoon. Tough to react to though. Also, the art behind you is first-rate.
I agree Rex is that kind of guy sadly Eve deserved better.
27:46 😂
I never like videos but the "on the nose" joke was too good
17:38 " I like Amber "
After watching your Expanse reactions it is funny to hear you say “He’s THAT guy” and be disgusted instead of being happy.
😂😂
They didn't re-animate the body. The act of putting that cap on the top of the neck stimulated the nerves, causing the body to move temporarily. This is a real thing that can happen to recently dead bodies.
Awesome 👏
I don’t think you have the same definition of what makes a good wingman as most teenage boys. ;)
I didnt interpret Eve’s noise of disgust when flying w Mark as directed towards the notion of dating Mark. I think it was because Rex was wrong in his assumption & just immediately started sleeping around w a mutual friend & that he thought that was an acceptable response.
Everybody is mad at Rex, but nobody ever says anything bad about Kate.
Rex cheated. Kate didn’t. You must be a cheater and blame the woman. Gross.
@@KurNorock I feel Kate should've at least gone to Eve for confirmation, but overall Rex was more at fault for this.
Seeing Rex get the crap beaten out of him was so satisfying. He is easily the most annoying character.
He is easily the funniest character. Y'all take shit too seriously. He's also got a hell of a character arc in the comics
Gov: "Fly to Okinawa in Japan to fight an Oni!"
Me: "Riiiight... Any chance I could use Google Maps for that?"
From the air would be insane. I wouldn’t even know which continent I was on
@@funnylilgalreacts If I was high enough, like in space, that'd be a different story. But drop me somewhere in the US, Asia or Afrika and bye 😂
Yeah rex ia a hard character to like. But he does have the best story arc of any of the characters. His back story and eventual story are heartbreaking and amazing. He is my fav.
Rex is still hilarious right now, I don't know how most white folks don't see it
Spoilers.
@@anonymouslyopinionated656 agreed. Jason manzoukas as the VA is a big part of that.
@@Daedalus273 what spoiler?
@@anonymouslyopinionated656 And I don't know why you had to use race as if it suppose to matter whether or not someone is likable.
I’ve heard good things about RRR!
@@funnylilgalreacts So are you planning for a reaction to RRR movie and Brahmāstra trailer? 🙂
Rex cheated because Invincible made him feel insecure
I’m only here for the cheesy hammy jokes… 😅
Do you take requests?
Do you really hate kids? 😱
C'mon, I doubt It! 😆
Mostly the idea of birthing one, I love my nieces and nephews!
I don't understand the Amber hate but screw fans sometimes. Rewatching Invincible I feel sorry for her now
Even though I'm ok with the series making some changes from the comics like making Amber black, I don't like that they changed Shrinking Ray to woman the show already has strong female characters without having to gender swap them.
Shrinking ray gender swap doesn't even matter though, either way still an unimportant character
women and the friendzone back up boy toys. Amber is game playing and toxic
18:44 He is more wrong than right actually...
No he's not those were literally three facts. Other than the part where he said he should be worshiped. That's off the wall.
FUN FACT: Amber is the real villain all along..lol
So you think a supervillain is cool because he has a degree in Women studies and African dance.....
No I think it’s cool he has a degree in woman’s studies and African dance, but not the supervillain part 😉
Yeah the girl behind this channel is a pick me girl for sure lmao. Watching this so late for your channel for some profit huh lol
Yes. Duh.
