I love the juxtaposition of you crushing on Omni Man one minute then being grossed out by his gaslighting the next 😂
Yeah, I kind of enjoy that too.
This is definitely the episode where my “feelings” started to change for Omni-Man.
More like "gushing" at this point. lol
I ‘think’ the Martian problem is actually two problems. 1) a Martian shape shifter has gone to earth pretending to be one of the astronauts 2) the astronaut he is pretending to be is with the sequids. It’s not 100% clear, but I think that’s what happened
Not sure if it counts as SPOILERS to say but, yes, this is entirely accurate.
Yeah, Martians can shapeshift, sequids can control people who can't shapeshift (and, presumably, who aren't as invulnerable as a Viltrumite). The astronaut in the shuttle shapeshifted, so he can't be controlled by sequids and is almost certainly a Martian, and there's a sequid-infested astronaut left back on Mars who the rest of the astronauts don't seem to be missing, which makes it pretty clear that the Martian in the shuttle took his place.
The real question, though, is whether this Martian supplanted the astronaut _after_ seeing him being taken over by the sequids, to escape a doomed Mars (which, sure, might be a bit cowardly, but can't exactly be called evil), or whether he supplanted him while he was still himself and left him behind to be taken over by the sequids, which would be a bit of a dick move.
Last Martian we saw on Earth was a member of the guardians and, we can assume, a hero; this one clearly doesn't seem to have any heroic tendencies, but it remains to be seen whether he'll just be a coward, or a villain.
I mean I'm pretty sure the actual astronaut got possessed by the sequids and is still on Mars and then the sequids make a carbon copy of the astronaut to go back to earth and infect more people.
@@ThePartisan13 How would they make the copy?
What we know about the sequids is that they can A) crawl around, jump, and grab onto things, B) control people they grab on (unless they can shapeshift or resist them in some other way), and C) once they're controlling someone link together telepathically and become a hivemind (which allows them to act in a coordinated manner, as seen in the "wave" at the end).
Making "carbon copies" of astronauts or anything else isn't anything we've seen them do or been told is within their capabilities (unless they're controlling someone who can shapeshift... something we've been specifically told and shown they _can't_ do).
We _do_ know who _can_ "make carbon copies", though: Martians, by shapeshifting.
So, by Occam's razor, the sequids took control of an astronaut, and a Martian replaced him (though we can't know in which order).
And on top of that we _also_ know that the sequids seem to be extremely aggressive (something corroborated by the Martians when explaining them to Mark); they don't infiltrate, they _overwhelm and conquer._
If a sequid had been on that shuttle, it'd have taken control of an astronaut, linked with other sequids, and used them to take over the shuttle and the rest of the astronauts, fly it to Earth, and take over the planet.
Disguising themselves as a "carbon copy" is not only something they _can't_ do... it's something they wouldn't do _even if they could,_ unless they had no other option.
I feel it was 100% clear, but I watched it right after reading the comics, so it might affect my judgement.
11:15 "Damien's not scared of Omni-Man whatsoever. Why or why not rather?"
- I mean he is a demon after all and probably grew up seeing Satan all his life who's vastly much more terrifying than Omni-Man.
This is a very valid point
@@funnylilgalreacts he's sposed to be a fusion of all the noir detectives &Rorschach (watchmen) who is notorious for being obsessive to the point of sociopathy &fearless even in the face of godlike beings
even his stucatto speaking cadence was based on Kovacs speech bubble patterns
In the comics they made it seem like a fight between Omniman and Darkblood was not a foregone conclusion either. I wish Kirkman would do a spin-off featuring him.
@@o-wolf no way?! I had no idea Darkblood was intertwined with Rorschach
@@mcgfn yeh he's basically Rorschach/The Question times Etrigan
16:55 Notice it’s actually very careful wording on Omni-Man’s part. “After what happened to the Guardians, I’m terrified I could lose everything.” By this, he means after he killed them, he’s worried that he’ll lose everything if Debbie and Mark find out.
I love the previous dialog from him as well, where he said that he wished Mark wouldn't have gotten his powers, and that it changes things. He could've just outlived them before returning to his original task, but with Mark being a Viltrumite he knew he can't just wait for them to die. Some of his dialogs are fairly obvious hints but some are pretty subtle, or sometimes even just his facial expressions. Not worth as much as an Attack on Titan re-watch, but definitely above average.
@@Dark__Thoughts”Earth isn’t yours to conquer” was really good hidden message
One of the most realistic things that Invincible has over other superhero comics and series is that it feels real because the threats never stop, usually in the comics or series after there's a fight with a big villain what follows is calm until another but in Invincible as soon as Mark defeats a villain another appears without warning or there is more than one threat occurring at the same time
Great reaction as always. No spoilers, but the arc that most of the characters (but especially Eve) goes through is really cool. Alan implied that he goes from inhabited planet to inhabited planet and test any super-powered heroes that reside there. Personally really enjoyed the way Damien Darkblood talks.
'did just take a picture?'... i need more of this in my life pls
😂it’s 3:02am here in Virginia just saw the notification couldn’t help myself
Watching this first thing after waking up is a great way to start the day :) Loved your reaction as always and I can't wait to see more, both your reactions and season two of this show. I hope it comes soon! :D
Just in case your confused the astronaut that had that thing move on the American flag (the patch on his arm) was a Martian.
I definitely feel you on the thinking about the characters all the time. I highly recommend checking out the comics, it's great getting more of these characters and this world
Work on season 2 started 4 months ago. Which is both good news and bad news, as it's already been almost a year and a half 😭 I'm glad you started this show now, because it keeps it fresh for me. March of '23-ish for S2, get ready!
"Neil Armstrong eat your heart out" -Mark Watney-
To be fair, two weeks is an _astoundingly_ fast Mars mission. Modern rocket tech takes six months to get there.
Super hero worlds normally have all sorts of "super tech" all over the place.
@15:03
"Sure,...but it's not like dating Rex worked out,........"
I mean,.... he wasn't wrong.
No lies detected there.
Just hang on for the rest of the season… Because it never stops from here on out. Can’t wait to go on this ride with you! And… Happy birthday!
Orphan Black was amazing 🤩
In this universe, it would be dangerous for the wrong people to know your secret identity. They could go after your loved ones. Yet strangely, both Eve & Nolan don't wear any disguises. I'd like to think this is intentionally poking fun at Clark Kent / Superman.
I like that you addressed the Mark / Amber relationship. At one point you asked if Amber might have a dark side. IMO digging up dirt on Todd and blackmailing him to push her phone number on Mark should be a red flag here. Also, It felt awkwardly forced to make a point of girl power from a writers perspective.
At least the demon doesn't talk the way that the DC comics character that he's a parody of does (is that the right way to put that?), that guy speaks like entirely in rhyme.
No way Darkblood is meant to parody Etrigan.. they are different, only similarity is demon.. which isn't the biggest thing to go off of imo since their personalities and roles are different

This show is so great I am binging your invincible vids pls make more
good reaction, happy birthday girl, enjoy your day, stay gorgeous as always...
I wonder… a red rock from Mars may superficially look like any rock from a rock formation like Arizona…
Some rocks are very unique, that’s how we found Osama the first time.
Episode 4, is kind of my favorite episode I have no idea why but I think episode 3 builds everything up for it and makes us excited for more, anyways great reaction 🥰
Have you seen Jason X
Girl you gotta watch Dark Matter... and thanks for the reactions ...just makes my day =)
Hello
funnylilgalreacts/Angela (I hope I don't remember your name wrong) I had a series of suggestions, if you want to shoot a reaction video.
It tells the life story of a mutant set in the X-men Universe. There are 3 seasons in total, the name of the series is Legion. I think you might want to take a look, it's up to you to shoot the reaction video. I don't know if there will be requests from the audience, but I think it's a great series. He is said to be one of the most powerful mutants in the X-men universe. I won't say anything else, I don't want to spoil anything for you.
Mount Everest is on the border between Nepal and China (Tibet). The Himalayas, the mountain chain that include Mt Everest does stretch down into India though. So not far off
Then you're not going to like Damien Dark's name from DC on shows like Arrow & Constantine, Legends of Tomorrow.
React to omni-man vs homelander!!!
Damn girl. You're definitely the thirstiest content creator on YT, especially among the girls. At least in regards to being open about it.
Every reaction video basically, but especially this one.
Btw, the scene with the dragon is an interesting one. Nolan didn't bother with the dragon because the jets that were incoming were the ones that were monitoring him. That's why they were right there in that moment.
girlfriend is the worst
you're probably the only person who actually liked Amber, she's so insufferable and only gets worse with each episode.
I honestly still can't tell if you're grossed out by Omni-Man's/Nolan's misogyny and general.......well.......scumminess,......or if you're actually turned on by his 'Zaddy' factor.
Women can be confusing sometimes.
(...well,.....all the time)
way to generalise women 🙄 you know its possible to have more than one singular feeling towards a character, right? omniman is obviously attractive, why should women noticing that somehow prevent them from also feeling disgusted by his actions
After all Mark is turned on by that woke Amber (if you know what happen next and why she is the most hated character of the show - she was not even supposed to be mixed blood/black to begin with and her original self in comics was a nice/decent character. Nvm).
And then you have a ton of men being also turned on by misandrist women, it's just that double standard makes men being misogyn appear disgusting while women hating men is seen as nothing wrong. In France for exemple you even have a woman who sells her books with a misandrist speech. Imagine if reverse was done ? Yeah, nope. Outrageous ofc.
@@_holy__ghost
I didn't say she can't be both attracted to him and be put off by his scumminess.
I understand nuance and having complex feelings.
I was just pointing out my confusion on which part of that spectrum she was on, and also stating a fact - that it's confusing to men (most of the time. Yes, we're simple-minded beings.).
@@Cbricklyne thats honestly better reasoning than the other reply to your original comment, that shit sounds unhinged 😬
Assuming you've seen the whole first season, how can you say Nolan is a misogynist? Does he hate women specifically? Does he treat Debbie the way he does BECAUSE she's a woman or is there another better explanation?
(Trying hard to avoid spoilers, but I'm fairly certain you know what I'm getting at.)
Assuming his motivations are misogynistic would be like assuming he's anti Asian. Sometimes people are just assholes.
Did I miss something here? Why does she dislike Rex so much that she wants him killed off? He's annoying but like, kill him off???
This is the worst animated episode of INVINCIBLE
I definitely got that vibe while I was watching it. Although the Sequid wave was awesome.
