Fantastic playing! A tour de force. She's playing the flute part, which is hard enough, PLUS the complete two handed continuo/harpsichord part as well, and very convincingly.. with a great pulse and intensity. Imagine this with a decent recording and a little reflective ambience. This is absolutely stunning.
This performance is so amazing, I keep coming back to watch again and again. It's funny I always expect a thundrous roar of applause but the audience was more reserved than a performance of this stature deserves! I don't care, for me this is one of the top Bach guitar performances out there today.
It’s been three years since my last comment on this video and I continue to return to watch Maria Esther Guzman’s masterful execution of Bach’s music. In Maria’s hands, all of the voices in the counterpoint are so clear and strong. Her tone is so varied and nuanced; perfectly suited to each phrase. And my favorite aspect: her unstoppable, unflappable rhythm in the final movement, endowing such energy, such bounce to the piece, as to make me want to dance! Surely, she is one of the great interpreters of Bach for the guitar. Bless you, Maria, you are sublime!
