He played this at my school when I was a sophomore in high school . No one knew why I was getting as excited as I was . This is my favorite song of all time and I got to see a true professional play it .
I've been a Big fan of Zebra for over 40 years and as far as I'm concerned not only is Randy a Great guitarist I think nobody past or present come close to being as good as he is and I've seen a lot of great guitarist in the past 40+ years. Zebra #1 Forever !!!!
Men like Randy Jackson are the true high priests of this present human race. To delve such emotions through music craft and to not only choose to remain but to share the bittersweet joy with others marks him a king amongst men. That he has achieved such grace within our present allotted lifespans speaks volumes. What a most pleasantly performing incarnation of the soul in this man.
i was in a drummer in a band & was 15 yrs old & knew every Led Zeppelin song on the drums . I borrowed a friends license so i could sneak into Speaks in Island Park , & the very 1st time i saw them perform , i believe Bob Buckman introduced them & they started there 1st set by kicking out Rock n Roll & my fuck n jaw dropped . just watching Randy Hit every note w/ his vocals & his guitar just blew me away .
They played at a little club in Dallas that held about 250 and I walk up and sat right down in front of him on the dance floor while they played and it's STILL the best concert experience besides front row at Van Halen in 83.
I I have seen Randy/ Zebra at least 30 times since the early 1980's when theyr were tearing up Long Island as the best band out there. I remember sneaking in underage to so many clubs to hear them do the best cover Zeppelin. If you get a chance to hear a bootleg of their rendition of "The Ocean" from around 1985-1988 you will love it!
Great video Brenda thanx. Randy & Zebra have always rocked & were & are severely underrated. I wish they would play FL more or I could get back up to LI more often.
Ordreys oddysee ten miles north of Morgan City Louisiana I was 17 they opened with immigrant song that moment when the vocals kicked in floors me . I don't know the band personally but I would love to know the approach they would use when creating music if a person plays music then covers who's behind the door you star see this bands brilliance the minds behind this music was a gift to the world .thing is it's the way they choose to create the music highly advanced
Never knew he was such a famous guy o.o I just used to take guitar lessons from his son and know he's a pretty normal guy Not at all a typical musician
I'm not sure but I think it might be the same tuning as his songs Time and Who's Behind The Door. If you are on FB he plays live 5-6 times a week. You could ask him there, he has answered that question before, but I cannot remember what it is.
Randy Jackson is a great musician. Awesome performance of a lovely Zeppelin song

Outstanding! Thanks for sharing!
This dude is one of the best musicians I have ever seen
I just love him more and more as time goes on! Sort of a hidden gem surviving from the 70s ... someone who remains about the music.

I remember hearing Zebra play in the local bars here in New Orleans in the 70s. I get goosebumps when I hear them on the radio! Long live Zebra!
right there with you... :) memories
Yeah, paying $2 coverage at Ziggys iinstead of $1 for other bands. Oh wow! LOL
Ya great band ....saw them open for Sammy Hagar at Chicagofest back in early 80’s ....will never forget that day!
How many people can play AND sing "The Rain Song"? Randy Jackson is an epic musician
I was thinking the same thing. He sounds like a whole band doing this and sounds awesome
Absolutely wonderful musician, from LA to NY. You Rock Randy!
Thanks for the music through the years guys! Zebra is one of the greats!
Beautiful job! I had the privilege to hear his son Jamie sings this song November 17. PHENOMENAL!

Fantastic Zeppelin cover here from Randy!!!
One of my fav performers of all time....use to go see him in New Orleans back in the 70's and he's even more amazing now.
Under rated band, Under rated guitarist.
But somehow generic, corporate shit like Damn Yankees, and so many others was popular....
They played before journey in Dallas and people started walking out before half of journeys set.
@@1970borntorun YEP,LOOK HOW BIG RAP IS.I WISH THAT CRAP WOULD HAVE NEVER CAME ABOUT.NO MUSICIANS.
PERFECT cover of the PERFECT song..............Randy Jackson is amazing. The guy can play ANYTHING!!!!

Awesome cover by an awesome talent. Randy is great. Wish he would play some gigs in the PA. area.
Thanks Brenda, I know he's coming to Florida soon & I thought this was his post.
I'll email him.
Thanks again! Gonna be Great seeing these guys again!
No comments? How strange.
Randy got the tone of the guitar and feel of the song just right.
Glad you uploaded this :D

I went to Speaks from 77-80 and saw these guys regularly. They were awesome then and still are
I always thought he was underrated. He's amazing!
Amazing and EPIC!
Saw RJ perform this with the Phoenix Symphony... incredible!
So beautiful, thank you 💯

Fantastic!!!
why can't zeppelin still sound like this?? amazing!
needed that today.
Simply amazing..
Upon us all a little rain must fall
Randy Jackson from Zebra and Tom Keifer from Cinderella are both so under appreciated.
Kiefer can’t hold a candle to RY
Getting my fix here cause Im working for the "Voice of the Wetlands" festival and gonna miss out on THIS!
Scat ‘Rain Song.’ Love it!
THIS GUY IS AWESOME ZEBRA FOREVER🤣🤣🤣
My favorite LZ song...Love Zebra !

Outstanding.
Amazing....just amazing.
Randy is the nicest dude!
Yeah and he doesn't have to be. I'd still love this if he was a jerk. He's truly great.
Fricken Brilliant
Just PERFECT.
complex construction clearly created. craftily. complete...
Papa's Social Club, a music club in Milwaukee, WI.
Legend!
I always knew there was some Zeppelin influence. The first time I heard "Behind the Door" I could tell.
Great mix! Looks like a Yamaha guitar
Awesome song by an awesome musician. Where's this at
Take one Robert Plant sprinkle in a generous helping of Jimmy Page and you've just made a Randy Jackson.
amazing job. He's very good. Just makes me think how excellent an acoustic LZ gig would have been?
Good God Man!!!!! How Do You Play This on One Guitar????
Pure goodness
Sounds like he's playing it in standard tuning?
Randy, are you going to do any of this when you're here in Florida?
Larry, my guess would be yes...but you would need to contact Randy directly to get an answer to your question for sure. This is not his page/account.
Larry Long
They started as a Zeppelin cover band
Never knew he was such a famous guy o.o I just used to take guitar lessons from his son and know he's a pretty normal guy
Not at all a typical musician
Zebra kicks some major ass
What tuning is that!!?
Unfortunately I can't help...I'm not a guitar player. You'd have to ask Randy directly.
I'm not sure but I think it might be the same tuning as his songs Time and Who's Behind The Door. If you are on FB he plays live 5-6 times a week. You could ask him there, he has answered that question before, but I cannot remember what it is.
I cannot edit my comment but today I was thinking I *might* have heard him say "open G" that day he answered the question.
:)
Great cover Randy Jackson, a shame about your name though.
Not as much a shame as yours, MerkinMuffly. Lame
1 person is lost.
Was great without the bop pow wow's
We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I like how Randy adds his own touch to it.
AWESOME
