    props to used surf as one of only 3 channels that puts out videos on fin use and the other 2 channels aren't currently putting out videos on fins anymore, my impression is too many people don't appreciate the value of the information

      Thank you! Yeah our feeling is that right next to the board figuring out the right fin for that board is so important if you want to zero in on best possible performance. Thanks again!

    Is the HS similar to the FCS HS reactor family? And the pivot similar to the FCS Reactor PCC? I tried the last ones today and they were really nice to turn and fast and will be trying the HS tomorrow. Great video. Thanks

    I think you guys are doing a great job with these fin spex series. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
    There is a question I would like to ask about the materials. Which technology is better for conditions like 1-4 ft (sometimes mushy)? Blackstix or Alphas? And why?

    • @used_surf
      @used_surf  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the kind words on the video. Yeah I feel like this information is well overdue. So we're looking forward to going down the fin rabbit hole over the next 1 to 2 years and try to get it all lined up so people know which way to go on the spectrum of looseness and stiffness etc. To answer your question a while ago we had one of our team riders take the same fin template with three different constructions. We did this twice and the first video the alpha definitely looked better than the honeycomb. The video I'm going to reference to you to watch I would say the alphas looked a little faster and had more flow but the Blackstix I would say had a more critical performance element to it but to me did not look quite as fast. Check out the video and tell me what you think. Hope this helps. ruclips.net/video/MHby87zJYQc/видео.htmlsi=7iueSQ2-cvdJN4Ep

    What’s the diff on alpha T1 and alpha Rasta?
    They look and have such similar stats. I am getting a dark twinn for 3-6 ft beach break.
    Already have the NVS ahi.
    Also looking at the TP twin +1 but thought it was similar to the ahi

    Great info thanks. Can you recommend a Futers model and set up (quad?thruster?) for a CI Avg Joe in beach breaks. I’m out on in the Northeast. Low-intermediate 150lbs. TY

      If your looking for a baseline to work off of id say get a pair of am 1 black sticks in a thruster. Good all around fin for most northeast conditions (grew up surfing in New Jersey). They are great for making speed on the less than stellar days and still hold well into the chest to almost head range. Dont be tempted to go large, stick with the mediums. Hope this helps!

    I expected them to ride the HS2s I have the HS1s but I'm 195lbs

    • @used_surf
      @used_surf  Год назад

      Yeah a lot of us are riding large fins even weighing 165 to 175 lb. There's certain fins that we consider to be “medium large" like the mayhem large and the hs1. A lot of this is due to the fact that the medium versions of those tenplates are actually just too small and seem like they're better for 135lb to 155 lb surfer
