- Last time, we did an overview of the Super Brawl series. Now let's take a closer look at each of the games and see just how everything progressed. We'll also look at Smash Fest, a similar game that could be considered a prequel. Hope you're all ready for this exciting new adventure!

I like Super Brawl because they kept all the characters in their respective art style just a neat touch to me.

Jimmy is from an obscure Nickelodeon movie called "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius." It was planned to become a full fledged TV show if the movie were to succeed, however it bombed at the box office, and the show was never made.
Sad, I'm sure Jimmy's father and his best friend Carl would've both spawned a ton of memes and memorable moments if the show was greenlit.
If Super Brawl 3 had Super Brawl 2's engine, training not be the only mode to tell you about special attack inputs (not fan power), and had bonus features from the second super brawl, it would easily be one of the best in the series.

I had the chance to play against Sheen back when he debuted in SFB and he was like the amalgamation of all the complaints people have about rushdown characters: lightning fast and ridiculously strong base attacks and special move meant that he could charge at you 2 times, then finish you off when you were stuck in the corner. Or just keep charging at you, it made no difference. Good riddance they nerfed him hard.

Yeah, was there as well and as a Dr blowhole main even he can have trouble against sheen if he doesn't get the jump on him first. And that's saying alot when they nerfed dr blowholes ai in fall brawl vs the previous games where they made him less aggressive

This video reminded me of the baffling roster of NASB 2, and has given rise in my head to a theory that they're gonna be rolling out free updates with the rest of the cast since they, once again, were not given the proper amount of time to finish the dang game.
I think you should note the balancing in super brawl 3. Its really broken. Theres barely knockback on hits and very little hitstun. The only thing that matters is speed and rangr. Characters like timmy, sanjay and craig and the breadwinners dominate due to their massive range (especially sanjays special attack its HUGE) and Characters like shredder are terrible due to bad hitboxes. Also fans are broken (check the rabbits fans it will ALWAYS hit)

It has been a long time so apologies if my memory is a bit off. I don't remember the exact terminology for some of the moves but I think it should be clear what I am referring to.
I remember back when fan supers would also increase your special meter (this was removed in a later version). That meant you could spam fan supers (such as the aforementioned Rabbids) over and over again. That combined with invincibility (IIRC; I will admit this is the detail I am least confident in remembering but I do recall something like that) on fan supers meant you essentially got victory as soon as you got a fan super off.
fun fact: one of the most popular versions of spongebob for M.U.G.E.N is a port of SB2 spongebob but with pixel art sprites

Great video man! You should also check out the fan game super brawl showdown. It’s pretty recent and is like an upgrade to super brawl 2 adding on elements from actual fighting games!
I knew there was a smash type game before jingle brawl, just never knew the name of it. I played smash fest a lot as a kid is why I remember it so fondly. Wish they had focused more on that element instead of a traditional fighting game route, I was underwhelmed by it at the time. Guess you can it’s a precursor to the infamous Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl series with it platforming fighter elements.

I find it funny and super ironic how the first game has Timmy's weak point be special moves. Like, you'd think his stats would be the opposite, considering he's most known for his abilities as two fairies' godchild, and his backstory of being an average kid, right?

I just remember finding the way to do the special moves in Smash Fest to be freaking terrible. I’d hold the space bar all I could and try to time it, but I wouldn’t get a honestly average special attack. Why couldn’t it just be a separate button? Like, the keyboard has tons of buttons, having to hold the key for a specific amount of time is BS!
Perhaps I should’ve been more specific with the Mighty B portion of my last comment. Didn’t know this video was being made. Whoops.

I feel like a lot of jokes and whatnot came from "The Nickelodeon Super Brawl Series", like deja vu be damned. I thought this would've just been the first one or two games that started everything, not the whole series again.
I understand that, I know it's a bit of an unexpected follow-up. I felt like I could elaborate more on certain points, but that may apply more so to the more complicated games in the series. I'm thinking of doing this every other video or so so it doesn't hinder my other nostalgic coverage if people aren't interested in following it. If it doesn't seem to be doing much for people, then we can leave it as it is. I know this is a very popular series and I figured I needed to do it more justice because I seriously didn't expect that video to reach such a big audience 😆 But I appreciate the input! I will keep that in mind for future uploads!
