I do remember I use to take bus from this bus station while going to Guwahati Ticket cost Rs 30 from Shillong to Guwahati. as I was a kid I didn't need a ticket and had to share seat with my dad. At Nogpoh bus use to halt for 15 mins for refreshments. It was a total journey of around 5 hours from Shillong to Guwahati.
I also used to board bus from here to tura and as a child I also needed no ticket like you in nongpooh I used to eat in that particular restaurent and my favourite was bread omlete toast
I wish i could see more vintage videos.. Recently i met an old couple from south Indian they use to stay in shillong in those era they told me about the beauty of shillong n how peacefulness it is with less population at that time...

This video reminds me of my childhood when the bus fare for MTC from Shillong to Guwahati was mere 25 bucks and it used to take us 3 and half hours to reach Guwahati and vice versa..Thank you for the lovely video
Even now bus takes around 4 hours with broad roads and new buses. I do remember it used to take atleast 5 hours from Shillong to Guwahati one way. Now Cabs takes around 3 to 3 and half hours, Now that also cab.

And I forgot to remember that name of the hospital, if I’m not mistaken it was Bethany or something2. Once i was admitted there about a week or more, but now a days when ever i passed from there i never see that hospital again. I remember also one canteen in that hospital we used to had tea, lunch or dinner, i got to taste their cooking. One of my favourite was masala in the fish curry… till now I missed it… and so nearer to find that scent of that musla till now I’m still searching but I can’t find. And i remember clearly that every morning i used to watch Horses on top of one hill they eating grass and people used to sit, reading, kids are studying and warm themselves in the warming morning sun. People at that time used to get up early, still dark. And myself too, i used to watch people walking, talking, running, playing. Horse cart (Kali kulai) i want to sit in that horse cart but I didn’t get a chance even once. Ohh… God I miss it 🥹🥹
