I love how you don’t cut out when you say a wrong word or twist your words on accident- just makes me further think that this is a conversation over a makeup tutorial! I adore your authenticity and video ideas 💞
The way you talk about makeup in such a fun/casual way really puts my mind at ease. I don’t usually wear full make up looks often, and was thinking wth would I do for a wedding I’m invited to in a few months... thank you so much this tutorial was an absolute lifesaver! Lol now I’ll have a few months to practice doing this look whilst trying to figure out how to apply those damn falsies!
Her falsies videos are very good, I recommend! If you take anything from her applying false lashes video, doing two layers of glue was an absolute game changer. If you're having trouble with like a full strip lash, I would try something like the Kiss Trio lashes. They're like a mix of individual and strip lashes and they're the only falsies I've ever had any luck with lol.
the best tip i ever got with falsies was to line your eyelid gently with the lash glue (so you’ll need an applicator) and then put a thin line of glue on the actual falsie band. wait for them to get tacky and try to be precise with where you set them down because glue on glue sticks very well. i recommend getting a hand mirror and holding them with tweezers while looking down. and try to set the middle of the lash to the middle of the band, then set the corners. my inner/outer corners always came loose and now they won’t budge.
Gosh I love it. I’m nearly 50. I’ve been living in the UK for 23 years but born and bred (baguettes?) in Paris. This red lip + contour/bronzer/highlighter on the eyes combo is what “we” (Parisian women) have been wearing since… for ever. It’s a classic, universally flattering look. You’re teaching the world how to be a Parisienne. Fabuleux! 👌🏼
I can't emphasize enough how great you are at explaining not just how to do a technique but *why* we do them, too. You're such a great instructor, and a true artist.
Girl, get out of my head lol I did my makeup this morning and did a bold lip, but it ended up looking ridiculous after I did my eyeshadow.... As always, you are awesome! And thank you for the helpful tips.
no correlation to this video but i was STARING at your skin the whole time and realized it’s what i’ve been doing while watching every single one of your videos for months and that made me think about a video request ! idk if these usually work for you but i know it’s been a while since you’ve done one SO... i would absolutely LOVE an uncut video of you doing your base, from start to finish, the way you have been doing it recently. no cut, no editing, no nothing, just you doing your perfect base from start to finish ☺️
Every video of you I click on I'm like "damn this person is so calming" like there's something in your voice, your glow, your voice, your aura, your voice, your lips, your teeth, your eyes and your voice... Cheaper than Xanax thank you so much
Blush tip: I went to one of those 'colour match' sessions and for finding that blush that will always suit your skintone, the woman recommended you look at the colour if the cartilage on your ear. I was thinking this when you held up your rare beauty creme blush- the colour looks just like the pinker bits on your ear :)
This is such a small thing, but I love that you don’t use a filter and I can see all the texture of your skin (which is so clear and gorgeous btw, jeez). It bothered me a lot (especially when I was younger) that I had texture and creased and got oily, and didn’t look 100% airbrushed-smooth whenever I wore makeup. It makes me love myself so much more to see that everyone looks like that, it’s not just me.
Thank you so much! I have a competition in an hour and my coach told me I have to wear a really bright red lipstick but I look ridiculous with my usual makeup+red lipstick. This helps a lot!
I’ve always been a bold lip + bold eye person. I always felt like I looked incomplete if I didn’t have something to accompany the lip. At the minimum, it was always a bold liquid liner, but never anything less. Goes to show everyone’s preferences :)
That red is so gorgeous. I’ve been looking for a bold red to wear to my best friend’s wedding and I’m pretty sure you just helped me find it! Honestly, this whole look in general is probably going to *heavily* inspire what I do that day. 😂❤️ THANK YOU!
I keep saying this but I loveeee that you are talking to us like a friend and you don't do that RUclips "HIIIII GUYS WELCOME BACK TO MY CHANEL" type of yell😂😂 I also ADORE the fact that you don't have backround music! Keep this style in your videos please ☺💕
Love this look. I usually avoid my red lipsticks because I’m never sure what to do with the rest of my face. Have to try those Revlon crayons- they have been killing it with some of their products lately. Also I LOVED your video when you duped some of the Lisa Eldridge lippies with the Revlon mattes, I’d be SO thrilled if you could compare some other shades. 😊😊😊
I have tried multiple other makeup/beauty creators and your channel is the best, bar none. I always come back to yours and finally feel a little more confident to try things with makeup!
I'm massively struggling with my gender identity right now and make-up is becoming a massive issue in my head, and under no circumstances would I be even considering wearing lipstick at the moment so I didn't watch this video as a tutorial, but just wanted to say that you just made all three of these colours look absolutely amazing. And I loved how simple, easy and relaxed this video was to watch. And you also seem to have a really friendly and open personality. Subscribing to hopefully see some more great videos!
I'm all for intense makeup, i LOVE bold everything on people. But recently i havent been into that look on me. It's nice to see you can still keep that boldness without having to add intense eyeshadow!
Honestly... I was scared of putting on colorful makeup before discovering you channel. Now I am having SO much fun experimenting. Not saying I have great techniques or ideas... But I am not scared of being creative anymore thanks to your advices
Alex, this is such a needed tutorial, at least for me. I'm always a bit confused and I end up not wearing a bold lip for fear of looking ridiculous. So huge thank you
Wow this is pretty . Usually I can go pretty bold because my skin is super muted but my hair and eyes have good enough contrast . Bold lips and vibrant cool colors give such life to my skin . I’m labeled as a true winter to dark winter . I love all the colors on you . Also Kiki came out with these salt nyc skin tint balms . I’ve gotten a lot of messages on Reddit and watched her video . From what I’m hearing all her shades have olive in it . The lightest shade is still too dark for me but I think it’ll work on you . Love to see a review on it .
45yrs old and never have the guts to commit to a bold lip look.....like I out it on and feel ...nah I can't go outside with this. You inspired me to give a red lippy a go and literally just did neutral eye mascara and Co ordinated blush like you said and really enjoyed it. I always thought I'm not pretty enough to wear eye catching lipstick but YOLO I guess.
This is giving me irl Nana Osaki vibes and I'm LOVING it 😩💞. Anyway, ty for this tutorial. As someone who wears minimal makeup, but has always wanted to rock a bold dark lip without looking like a totally different person, THIS is exactly what I needed 🥲💕 Ty
I love and appreciate your channel so much, every single video has so many nuggets of makeup wisdom, and the way you talk is SO soothing, I could listen to you for hours! So so happy to have found your channel 💖
I would love to see some videos about choosing makeup colors based on the color outfits you are wearing… example…. What makeup do I pair with a bright blue sweater!? Thanks ☺️
I am SO happy I found your channel. Also, thank you for the tip about these Revlon crayons and for establishing the comparison to Lisa's lipsticks!! I was totally longing for them but if I can get something like those for much cheaper, I am HERE for it.
Your stunning the lower lash is a bit much for me personally but it suits you love the top lash trick mine never hold a curl so I’ll have to give it a go
This was so helpful, I'm in the mood for some dark maroon-y lips and I can't wait to rock it now. I'm also trying to get into graphic eyeliner designs and I was looking back at your About Face and Juvia's Place palette videos and just wanna see you play around with makeup some more. I know you've been leaning towards more natural, so maybe like a cool, wearable graphic liner look? Maybe something for a girls night out on Valentine's day idk, I'd just love to see you do it.
Fabulous fabulous fabulous! I was literally just thinking that I want to wear a classic red lip look for my anniversary date tonight and then I saw this video on my feed. I’m still a working on my eye makeup abilities so thank you for explaining everything so clearly!
Thank you Alex that was amazing. My fave was the brown colour , it transformed your face and makeup to a more cohesive, harmonised look ! I will look to purchase these when it gets to Australia! Loved this and thank you for the deeper tone tips for us girls . 👄
Bless you for this video. I bought the Revlon lip crayon based on this video, and it is amazing. I applied the true red (Air Kiss) this morning, and I've had breakfast and lunch and only needed to touch up the very center of my lips. And my lips don't feel super dry or wrinkled like most stay-puy lipsticks make them feel. This is a winner!
Dang, all these bold lips look amazing with the makeup! BUT, when u took off the red and ur lips looked neutral... 😲😲 it looked BOMB!! 💣 Such a gorgeous look for any lip or occasion 😍😍💖💖
First, I freaking love your videos and your channel. It's been so nice to find someone else who has a fair, olive skin tone like mine! K, I would love a video explaining the effects of different shadows underneath your eye. I've always wondered - why would one put darkness/shadowing right under your eye? I've always been told it makes own more depressed looking and I'm also someone who has crazy dark circles, so I've always avoided that. Does any of this make sense? I would love a video explaining the purpose of this and trying different styles of eye shadow/contour right underneath your eye and see if there's any difference of looks or whatever. Thank you again for your channel and awesome whole person!
This is stunning! I’d love to finally try a bold red lip. Loved the contour color you used on lid! Any eyeshadow suggestions to mimic the Wayne Goss contour color?
I wish every beauty youtuber had your camera set up. It so crisp and you can see exactly how the makeup performs, which is so not the case with most other set ups where the skin just looks too smooth from all the lighting etc.
This was a brilliant video! Always looking for makeup that goes with a bold lip colour. Luv that you did three different lip colours with one makeup look! 💫
I do this look all the time! I just fill in my brown, spot conceal (blemishes/under eyes), mascara, and then the lip! And that’s it! I stick to reds/raisins since I’m brown with dark hair.
Thank you for always explaining things in a way that is easy and accessible for the lay-makeup wearer.
😭❤️
100% agree! 🙌
*All 3x looks...* 👌 ♥️ 💖 ❣

Another look I love with a bold lip is graphic eyeliner and no mascara. It's so fun and very editorial-y. :)
Fuck yes, love that 💪🏼

The red lip makes her eyes pop more wow 🤩

There's always a shimmery finish to your work regardless of theme, look or colors you use, your skin always looks luminous, such a pro.
Every video of you I click on I'm like "damn this person is so calming" like there's something in your voice, your glow, your voice, your aura, your voice, your lips, your teeth, your eyes and your voice... Cheaper than Xanax thank you so much

Ugh, thank you! I've been feeling really strange every time I wear a bold red lately. This is going to be so helpful.
The brown was my favorite. It had a pretty warm red tone to it. I need to try this out on my own medium skin with neutral olive undertone.
😩 It sounds like it would be so beautiful on you 🙌🏼❤️
Thank you so much! I have a competition in an hour and my coach told me I have to wear a really bright red lipstick but I look ridiculous with my usual makeup+red lipstick. This helps a lot!
Soufflé all day looks STUNNING on you. Gorgeous makeup and tips as always, thank you 🥰
I’ve always been a bold lip + bold eye person. I always felt like I looked incomplete if I didn’t have something to accompany the lip. At the minimum, it was always a bold liquid liner, but never anything less.

This looks like a sharpie for your lip. That's kind of amazing, actually. I love to see some swatches with the nude colors they sent you. :D
Love it, the colour soooo suits you.. (-:
I love how you don’t filter your video and show us what your real skin looks like …True Queen!!! ❤️
Love this look. I usually avoid my red lipsticks because I’m never sure what to do with the rest of my face. Me, too! Would you say this Revlon lip crayon shade is a dupe for Lisa Eldridge Velvet Ribbon?
The face and eye look is stunning even if you used a less dramatic lip. Totally love it
You’re helping me prepare to do my wedding day makeup myself, thank youuuuu 👏 👏👏👏👏

That grey waterliner is honestly a game changer!
Alex, this is such a needed tutorial, at least for me. I'm always a bit confused and I end up not wearing a bold lip for fear of looking ridiculous. So huge thank you
The way you’re doing your lios looks fantastic. The sides aren’t turning into a frown at all.
It's so crazy how subtle shadows can define shapes and carve out or push back features. Wilds me out everytime.
Your skin texture is so beautiful, looks so natural and well taken care of. Lovely!
Is it just me or is the way she talks just sooo soothing and almost addictive? 😂

the plum color with your pretty green eyes is amazing
I usually do not buy drugstore brands, after your video I’m going to try all three colors you demonstrated. Looks beautiful!

This lipstick shade is so refreshing on you. I'm gonna do this look today. Even though it's lockdown and I'm not going anywhere lol
Bold lip looks are my absolute favorite. Classic and goes with everything.
That plum color is incredible

That purple lip looked phenomenal on you!
Your hair is perfect for your face. LOVE it!
I would love to see some videos about choosing makeup colors based on the color outfits you are wearing… example…. What makeup do I pair with a bright blue sweater!? Thanks ☺️
My poor bold lip colors have been so lonely for so long....I'm going to take them out play! Thank you for another awesomely useful tutorial 💋🤘
i have really thin lips and dont like to draw much attention to them with bold shades, but this is still really helpful
I am SO happy I found your channel. Also, thank you for the tip about these Revlon crayons and for establishing the comparison to Lisa's lipsticks!! I was totally longing for them but if I can get something like those for much cheaper, I am HERE for it.

I understood the balance between lips and eyes, but never thought about the BLUSH! This makes so much sense, thank you!
That last color, not so much, but the first two - yes and yes!! Those looked great on you.
This is a perfectly rare combination of makeup technicalities + bubbly personality.❤ Plus none of those “influencer dramas”. Adore her!!❤
Your voice is so nice, the way that you speak is relaxing
Revlon is a great company ♥️, very wise to have you as a sponsor !!! 💋
I love that your videos are educational and just tell me what I need to know
Thank you Alex that was amazing. My fave was the brown colour , it transformed your face and makeup to a more cohesive, harmonised look ! I will look to purchase these when it gets to Australia! Loved this and thank you for the deeper tone tips for us girls . 👄
I love the way you explain things!
If you could ever do a series on brushes, that'd be so great.
Your eye colour is sooo pretty! I can't even pin it down, lol.
the bold lips colors made your eyes pop - stunnning🙏🏿
WoW, that glow. What is that ? You have such a great skin, it’s insane. Great video, thank you 🙏
This has my name all over it. Please do a 2023 updated version please ❤

Wow. Air Kiss smudged on me. Got on my teeth at an event 20 minutes after applying it.
I’ve learned sooo much from you ! Keep going ilysm and you’re a really good makeup artist ❤️❤️
Dang, all these bold lips look amazing with the makeup! BUT, when u took off the red and ur lips looked neutral... 😲😲 it looked BOMB!! 💣 Such a gorgeous look for any lip or occasion 😍😍💖💖

Your base in this video is particularly beautiful, omg
I felt so amazing when i saw u and the way u speak so genuine ❤❤❤❤
This was a brilliant video! Always looking for makeup that goes with a bold lip colour. Luv that you did three different lip colours with one makeup look! 💫
The timing of this clip is perfect for wearing red lips over Chinese Lunar New Year in the coming weeks!
a red lip is my go to look 👀💋 so useful, thank you!!!
💖💖💖...ooooooo, the last lip color made your eyes POP green! Beautiful! 👏
Hi Alex, just wanted to say thank u for the time u spend doing videos for us. I send u lots o love from Colombia 🥺🙏🏻💗
How do you clean up the edges? Id love a series on how to fix things as you go, like if you get mascara on your eye shadow etc?
Omg that lipstick looks like velvet! The red is stunning but that plum is definitely on my next shopping list
She is so underrated. Absolutely stunning and cool asf
The blush tone segment was very helpful, Ty
omg you look so good here! Thanks for being you! 🙌
I do this look all the time! I just fill in my brown, spot conceal (blemishes/under eyes), mascara, and then the lip! And that’s it!
I stick to reds/raisins since I’m brown with dark hair.
I absolutely love the choice of rare beauty !
right now , when i wanna know ANYTHING about makeup, i just look for your videos, keep it going!!!!
I love everything how you explain everything and show how to get the look.keep it up !!!
I love that I found someone with a similar bone structure and colors to mine... it makes it so much easier to do makeup
Okay but even before the eye makeup that lipstick made your eyes ✨pop✨ and I fxxking love it.
It is great how detailed you explaining how to apply makeup!
This is exactly what i do for my everyday look, just without the bold lip. Love.
