Paul Cacciatorie has been training dogs for over forty years. Paul loves all breeds, especially hunting breeds, and his claim to fame is his work with Labrador Retrievers.
The sturdy, well-balanced Labrador Retriever can, depending on the sex, stand from 21.5 to 24.5 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 55 to 80 pounds. The dense, hard coat comes in yellow, black, and a luscious chocolate. The head is wide, the eyes glimmer with kindliness, and the thick, tapering “otter tail” seems to be forever signaling the breed’s innate eagerness.
Labs are famously friendly. They are companionable housemates who bond with the whole family, and they socialize well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don’t mistake his easygoing personality for low energy: The Lab is an enthusiastic athlete that requires lots of exercise, like swimming and marathon games of fetch, to keep physically and mentally fit. - Животные
Grizzled old guy sitting talking beside grizzled old dog. The best.
And a grizzled new Red Bull.
Really refreshing to see labs that aren’t overweight
The show line labs are much chunkier than hunting line dogs.
yes! everyone is getting so conditioned to seeing fat dogs, they get used to it:(
Sear I was thinking the same thing
Sport labs are fit asffff
It sure is. So many people just aren't active enough for a labrador. They like to and need to stay busy
Theres nothing like advice coming from an old man
FACTS
Except maybe for a can of Red Bull!
'I didn't get him to live in a kennel. I got him to be my sidekick.' I loved watching this. Thank you, Dogumentary TV!
Thanks for continuing to make more than one video of a dog breed. We don’t just connect with the dog breeds, but also the owners.
If you are not feeling the person in the video, you won’t really feel the video. Every owner brings a different personality and vibe.
The guy in this video really loves what he does. You can feel his passion
That dog loves him soo much.
Not as much as he loves Red Bull!
Thehintercast that’s a lab for u 😉
please subscribe to my Labrador channel
I like what he says about the dogs having an 'off' switch. That's so cool to hear.
I love how this guy says pressure in dog training is NOT the answer. Get there in little steps, and the dog needs to UNDERSTAND what you want. He emphasizes timing, consistency, helping your dog out, teamwork and patience, and building trust in your dog, not forcing.
BEAUTIFUL!! I wish more people understood this!
There are solid reasons Goldens and Labs are the most popular breeds. They are so versatile and smart and trainable too
Among the most unhealthy
Probably one of the most enjoyable videos you've made. I'm not even a huge fan of labs but some great content here. I really enjoyed his decription of "genetics tips the scales in our favor" while still acknowledging there are some great dogs in people's backyard without titles or pedigrees.
I couldn't agree more!!! Althouuuuuugh, to not breed carriers can actually be a detriment to the gene pool in the long run. If you breed a clear to a carrier you simply breed more carriers, not animals affected by disease. If everyone tracks which dog carries what, they should be ok. Every time you leave a dog out over one gene, you throw out an entire body of genetics. It's throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Almost as enjoyable as a can of Red Bull!
I just love the way the dog looks at him while they're sitting
This man's philosophy is remarkable, he truly understands the animal and wants what's best for it. Refreshing to see someone who works with the dog and doesn't demand it to be a preconceived animal
That would be great to have a book like that. It’s passing in knowledge. Just more tools in the brains of us trainers.
Labs are still my favorite retriever
All dogs want to be labs, all labs want to be black.
They come second only to Red Bull!
I could listen to him all day, every word is worth hearing. Perhaps an opportunity to interview him again in more details on specific types of training might arise in the future. I hope so. Thanks Zeke another genuinely useful and interesting video.
Just fell in love labs even more
As every old legend has told me social networking with the right people is what gets you through life
He gave a great advice. Repetition is key to training. Every dog is different train at their pace and never force them to do something they havent have full understanding yet.
The ears when the puppers run is the best part
Personally, I love the Lab grin.
These dogs are amazing! But at my workplace, they're just a whole bunch of crazies! Always going into other dogs food containers and absolutely loves tennis ball times.
Its so inspiring to hear from a man who has worked and perfected his craft for decades. And when one's work can be combined with their strongest interest, you have a lucky man indeed.
Its so nice to see someone talk about there love for dogs. Its almost like storytime asmr or something.
I have a 12 week old aussiedor (Labrador retriever/Australian Shepherd). I’ve always wanted to train dogs and he has been the smartest dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Labs are awesome.
Beautiful dogs. They are well trainable and just eager for attention with command and love.. Great with children as well, had a pure breed black lab for 12 yrs and enjoy him till he pass away in 2018.. Let them run around and train them is the most important for these kind of dogs too.. Hugs to all fur lovers...
These dogs are so beautiful and it’s awesome to see such a seasoned breeder/master trainer still in the game! You can see the bond he has w his personal dog.
These wise and action shots are incredible Zeke. Thank you for filling my curiosity of different breeds
What a beautiful video. This man is lovely you can tell he really loves the dogs. Great job Zeke
I just love this channel so much.
A Labrador will be the best friend that you will ever have. Your old fella reminds me of my Dougle, I can see him now after a hard day picking up driving home in the Land Rover , Dougle sitting behind me (no cage) with his head on my shoulder. What a dog, sadly taken from me at the age of nine years old. Kind regards from London.
Wow, I really needed something this heartwarming right now
I just got me a white(looks slightly yellow in the snow😋) labrador a few months ago! His name is Juno and he will be 5 months old on the 7th! Love him dearly already.
He's not full lab though...his dad was 1/4 border collie..but you can't tell by looking at him. He's extremely intelligent and loves to play/work ALL THE TIME. He also can't sleep anywhere other than in bed with me...which I don't mind because he keeps my legs/feet warm at night :P
My black labs name is also juno. He is purebred and is 7 months old
Look at the way Truck looks at him ❤️ what a champ 💕 love this video and his advice. Thank you
Brilliant documentary as usual, editing, subject... all of it! Love it. Thanks 😊
I also trained my labrador using commands paired with hand signals. I encourage all owners to do this. Not only does it make it easier for the dog to learn, but its nice to be able to maintain control of the dog silently. 👍
i had a trainer tell me he learned that from another trainer but for another reason. If the dog is far away and cant hear the command but see ya, he'll see the signal.
Also training with hand signals keeps the dog in your sight at all times. He'll be making sure he can look to you for guidance so he'll stay in sight of you for cues.
No one will ever love you like your dog. Just look at the way that pup trusts his owner!!
And I loved the kennel truck!!
Best dog videos man!! Keep up the great work!!
Really good video, I think I'm pretty good with dog training personally and this guy's advice is a lot like a lot of my father's. He also got me a black lab when I was young as an only child, the dog was sort of a sister to me so I can relate to his love of the labrador breed. I think his advice is spot-on, that training should always be positive enforcement.
"If your dog looks lost, he probably is.. Slow down, back up, help him out." This stood out to me in particular as a really good quote. Patience, kindness, consistency, understanding that your dog just wants to please and maybe YOU could be doing something better is important to remember.
Lovely man with a lovely sight on dogs and dogtraining. No violence, but respect. Lovely to see
My grandma had one in puerto rico we used to take him to the lakes and beaches over there he also used to stay with one of our horse until we came back but sadly it died from old age in 2017 she was 15 years old there amazing loyal dogs amazing video
15 years is good for a lab
Wowzer. Labs have always been one of my favorite dogs. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Ms Michal 🙃☕💖
This is legacy for dog owners.THANK YOU!
Another great video!
Bump all the other trainers this guy is doing it for all the right reasons!
Brilliant video bro. Touching and the music was spot on!
Really enjoyed watching this video, thank you! These are such strong and healthy dogs. The trainer clearly loves his profession and the dogs, and they in turn love working for him. That's absolutely beautiful to see.
Wendy Here 👍☘️🇮🇪
Great video as usual, keep it up! I love when you do these with serious trainers, like Leri Hanson, Daryl Young, Khari Lee, this guy, and others! They're the best, learned about these people solely from your channel!
Words of wisdom from this old timer, nothing less.
" ...and the idea of beating these dogs to try to get what you want if the dog is giving you his best, is going the wrong way on a one way street.."
Powerful and truthful words from a true owner and trainer!! Every single person needs to hear that.
Zeke, you're amazing man! Another 10/10 !! And the in-depth conversations you have with the owners is wonderful, priceless knowledge. Much love from Montana!!
How dare anyone?
Great video. A good old master. One of the best breeds in training and a combination of qualities. And therefore, used as the main breed as a guide for the blind, to work with smell, lifeguard, ..., ideal in family and with children ....!
Fantastic video. I enjoyed learning about the breed and the art of his training.
Zeke , been subscribed for a long time and i must say, your videos are getting better and better each episode.
I'm disabled and have two Golden Retrievers and one Black Lab, I'm home all the time with them and they have a 24K gallon pool. These dogs are the best they haven't been trained but seem to know what one want them to do. The Lab is 7 mo. and she is the best swimmer and seems to have problem solving skills. I will never own anything else. Thanks for your video !
This reminds me of my Brother-in-law with his 4 Labs.We call him the DUCK MASTER!. ENJOYABLE VIDEO!(Shout Out from TEAM ROTTIE) :)
Excellent content, excellent camera work!! Quality docu as always!!
Love to listen to the gentleman and watching his woderful labi.
Loved this video!!! ❤️❤️
Love your videos. Best pooch stuff on RUclips!
Gotta love a lab
I totally agree. I love all the breeds. The dogs that work. That have the mind and body to do something amazing. It's great to bond with a dog, to train a dog to accomplish something amazing.
To be so together with them that you understand your commands, your signals, and can do things like track, protect, and obey.
I want so much variety I would love to do the IGP I think its called.
The challenge alone draws me to things like dog training, breeding, and things like shows, and competition.
Everything this man is saying makes him not only one of the best dog trainers but best dog owners.
Great explanations and presentation. Good stuff!
"I don't wanna answer the phone all the time"
20 year old me: me too old man,me too!!!
Nice to see a working dog video again, Paul is a great guy who's always been a dog trainer and he really enjoys his dogs and and the sport. kudos on the video . I see that you filmed at rauhuagees duck club , nice place.
Now that's a man who understands animals
You gotta wonderful creature out there, w/so much more to give. Love labs😉
Oh, this is awesome. What a team :)
I love the music in the background
I like this guy, awesome video!

A brilliant man!
I'm from Labrador and I approve of this video.

Would love a documentary about the nova scotia duck tolling retrievers!
Labs are so sweet
What a nice guy
That is what I thought.
I had a coyote lab golden mix. It’s cool to see others had dogs like mine growing up
I haven't personally owned one but there are a lot of coyotes where I live and I've seen a few people with coydogs, they're amazing looking animals
Great content 🖤
Fantastic!
Seems like a master
Great breed
Coyote/lab mix for a first dog? That is grade A Murican gangster right ther.
My dog is a Boxer/Wolf but he looks like a black lab :)
I’d buy his book in a flash
Great dog.
Superb philosophy, so much like the way we train here in Scotland .

i had a lab blackwolf mix best dog ever never forgot i will never get a dog like him again and he was very strong kind and smart we called him kimbo slice
Baloo my Black Lab 4-yr old I've been training since I picked him up from a wonderful breeder in Central Florida. Wish you were here. Loved the video especially because you don't believe in caging but living with your best buddy like I do. I'd love to get in touch with your kennel. I'll send a pic of my good boy. They are the best duck hunters hands down. CM
I love that the guy endorses positive reinforcement and non abuse. He must see a lot of it to have that much to say about it.
Zeke, near the end the things he says are identical to some previous audio/sound bytes. Was this an editing error?
13:42 dog be like nice interview 😢❤
i wish you could do a dogumentary on english cockers :'c
I love my lab.
Fantastic breed. I just had a lab puppy over for some training 😍
Agreed!😍Hello Sweden👍🐕
@@vikingdogmanship How did you know we're from Sweden? 😁
@@InsideTheDogWorld I came over some videos of your dogs about a year ago😄 So when i saw your comment here and remembered your profile picture i had to say Hi From Norway🐶 I hope norway will change their laws about this breed soon😣
@@vikingdogmanship ah I see! That's cool. I hope so to, sooner than later.
Hope you can give advice on what vaccines pups really need.
