Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the blend door actuator you changed behind the center console is for the driver's side control. The passenger side temp control blend door actuator is located in the dash, behind the glovebox. If the heat issue resurfaces anytime soon, you likely have to dive in there to replace the passenger side unit.
I believe you are correct I replaced the one on this video and it fixed my drivers side the passenger side is behind and below the airbag behind the glove box 👍
Be happy that was the only issue, those are a simple repair in comparison to changing out the heater core. I don't wish that job on anyone. Had to do mine on my old 01 Silverado in the middle of winter, not a fun replacement to say the least. I pray you don't have an issue with that.
Man i love the content the truck videos and stuff you do. Just started watching you a few months back, quickly you became one of my favs on here to watch. Keep up the awesome vids man
Great video! I didn't know about the relearn process. With all the mods you do you should buy the Milwaukee m12 ratchet they are great 👍. The model with the slim ratchet is the best for tight spots.
Hey Chase...figured when you had 2 out three screws on the cover you were going to find some interesting things inside. After just this and the back windows, I'm actually surprised the previous owner put the hard to reach screw back on the cover...unless he never took it off and just bent the cover down to replace the blend doors.
I have an 07 Silverado that has a similar issue. It’ll go from blowing cold, to blowing hot hot air. I usually fix it by banging on the AC switches or restarting it. The issue get’s even worse when your in 100+ degree Central California weather.
Well done. It’s possible whoever changed the blend door units previously did not do the calibration afterwards. That may explain why so many had been replaced. It may have failed, they replaced it but it still didn’t work (because they didn’t calibrate it). They thought it must have been a faulty replacement unit, so they tried another, which also didn’t work (because they didn’t calibrate it), so they just said “ F this” and left it not working correctly. This would explain the three replacements.
you should check and see if your recirculation door works or is stuck on outside air only. This is another common problem that happens due to over traveling from worn out weather stripping on the door. LSX Matt turned me on to this problem; didn't even know I had it. I know how to get the door to open so then you can remove the blower motor and through the access hole glue new stripping around the edge, this assuming the electric actuator is still good.
My parents 2005 Mercury grand marquis done the same thing about 4 times i even replaced the entire Hvac head unit and still couldn't get it to work i finally took it to a trusted repair shop had to replace all 4 blend doors the entire dash had to be removed to get to them total cost me $986
Random question, on your trailboss when you had your lifter fail, they only replace the one side correct? How many more miles did you put on it after before you sold it. But other side never failed correct? Just had a failure on my truck with 14,000 miles.
If you hold the auto button for a few seconds it sets it to where both sides of the trucks climate control can be adjusted at the same time by the driver side climate control 👍 if the passenger decides to change it all you have to do is repeat the process.
Nice video as usual, I've been neglecting to replace the one for my driver's side on my 06 Silverado, it seems to fail when it wants to, but it hasn't done it recently.
You should check out jba shorty headers stainless steel. Make sure you do true duels. With violator mufflers. They were killer on my SS silverado with the LQ9 but still that 5.3 will sound good and probably pick up 50 hp.
I changed that one on my 04 Suburban and it didnt change anything. I had to take dash apart and replace the one in center of dash. The easiest way to do it is cut the vent tube and swap it then i foil taped it back together.
@christopherrobertson5841 How many have you replaced there is like 3 or 4 of them. Driver side lower dash, passenger lower dash, center dash and if you have it rear passenger side over rear tire. But that one just does the rear. Those are the ones i know of not sure if there is more
Put them fender flairs back on you made this truck look worse, plus with your tires and wheels hanging out a bit the flairs would of even it up and covered the 2” hanging out past fender lines…love this body style, had a burgundy 04 crew z71 with light gray leather interior instead of the usual dark gray seats and dash…
Congrats on 100k and I enjoy watching every video of yours. Is there a way that I can get in contact with you because I really need help with picking a truck and you owned two of the three trucks that I’m trying to decide from but I would really like to have your opinion on which truck would be best for me
Dude my ac only blows out my front vents when I’m at idle or hitting my brakes and when I’m driving it blows out the defrost and I can’t find the vacuum leak. Any tips?
Typically this occurs due to a bad vacuum check valve under the hood. During hard acceleration the AC door system loses vacuum, causing the doors to default to the windshield. This check valve keeps this from occurring.
@@grantfunding I looked that up the other day and that was what I found out and I checked all the vacuum lines and couldn’t find the leak. It’s very common on the model car I have but of course my problem wasn’t exactly where everyone else’s was🤦🏻♂️😂it’s never easy
No disrespect, but pretty sure you changed out the driver-side blend door actuator. That's why your driver-side air went wonky. The passenger-side actuator is up top, under the passenger ductwork. A BEAR to get to. Funny how your passenger-side blend started working again though after recalibrating. Good! lol
Your back windows will do it again, Fix as many times a you like. then put the wood back. This was bad design by GM. My truck 2001 gmc has the wood still, fixed many times. Still love my truck. good luck, kids did love the windows down all grown now. The cable design sucks. Georgia mad mike said that....
Yo love your trucks man, definitely the best channel on RUclips. Only guy I know who keeps it real and are yourself💪🏻

Keep up the videos on this truck, I have the same truck so these videos help me get ideas for mine and help me fix stuff too👍
Hey at least you have ac that works. My 85 ford has a leak somewhere so I’m having to slowly fix pieces of the AC every paycheck.

every time you say screw i feel like you’re just saying your channel name haha
Nice Job on the windows where did u get the parts from for the windows my back window just quit working on me
Another great video man, keep it up

I just replace a blowemotor resistor on a sierra, pretty much the same process
Had to do that on my 02 silverado. Helped solve a lot of my issues with that
Love it bro love the content

Same issue on my 2002 Silverado, only it’s the mode door instead of the mixer door
Are all three blend doors the same as far as fitment? Are they interchangeable?
