Thanks for this review!! I live in Japan so sometimes the products I find aren’t what people buy and use in the west. But I bought a Silpat recently and now I feel confident using it. Thanks!!
Literally have two Silpat mats in my drawer and I've had them for years but NEVER reach for them. Since I've almost eliminated using aluminum foil in my kitchen, I have fallen in love with parchment, but man, it's expensive. Question: why should one not store a Silpat bent? One of mine might be a combination of bent/rolled, lol! I think it's the texture of the Silpat I find off-putting. Unfortunately, my oven is notorious for giving me flat-cookies, arrgh, so I'm a little hesitant. But I love that this video has made me remember the ones in my drawer and I might give them a try.
Hi Jennifer! So glad this video helped you remember about the Silpats you currently have. I know what you mean about parchment paper being expensive, so I really try and use these whenever possible. I think because of the material, if you bend the silpats while storing them, they may not be able to go back to their original shape. I would try it and see what happens with the cookies. I haven't seen a major issue with the cookies I bake coming out flat. Good luck!
I use my Silpat sheets for my candy making, I pour and work directly on them for my truffles, toffee and turtles. 2 Silpats allows you room to make 48 turtles at once. I just run the under warm water and give them a quick wash w/liquid and rinse. I roll them for storage. No Brainer, no purchasing expensive parchment, or disposing of product.
Thank You Sir! My wife just got a recipe for using a Silpat mat and we didn't know what it was and you covered this so well! Again, Thanks So Much!

Costco sells parchment paper in large rolls and it is not expensive at all. One roll lasts me several years.
You don't have to say "literally."
Little less talking a little more product demonstration.
And shut off the stupid f*cking music.
Does the Silpat get discolored over time? I bought a cheaper brand and they look disgusting even after scrubbing with soap and water.
Hi Vince pls like to ask you i have a big sizes can I cut them into 2 pieces? is not problem????, pls answer me thanks
Came to see a Silpat and how it works/review, saw: 3 minutes of a guys face. Hmm.
Is he drunk or is that normal for him? I wonder.

Is this full size silpat?
Some cookies I make comes out the shape of the ice cream scoop. Does this mean using it won’t keep the shape? Or is it just slightly flatter?
Is amazon silicone baking mat as good?
can i cut the silpat to fit in my trays?
Mine is also larger then my pan😕
No
wtf did i just learn here...
If the answer is “nothing”, then you and I learned the same thing.
There is a difference between a baking sheety and a baking mat. They are not the same nor interchangeable.
R.B. Jones explain?
Thank you, your review was very useful
