Haysoos I know her hair looks kinda choppy and weird but I think that just the way they styled it, if you look closely you can see strands of her hair hanging down
She puts more story into this song then Gwen, it starts off soft and light, as if someone is telling them kindly to take a chance because they might grow, but as the song goes on he voices start getting more angry and menacing sounding like there are people telling her "take a chance you stupid hoe" and "take a chance your capable". Maybe I am reading to much into it but it seems like how as a child your encouraged to take a chance and learn, but when you grow you are told what to do by someone of more authority then you which would make the voice sound more demanding and menacing as you get older.
I love how her voice is all high and delicate at the beginning, and then its gets so intense and grating and powerful. Marina is amazing, and her covers always beat the originals hands down.

I was a big fan of Gwen Stefani when this album came out back in 2007 I think. I recently became a huge Marina fan over the past ~4 months. Needless to say, I've never been so happy
The only reason I like the original more is because Marina's style would've been closer to the original but her personality wouldn't let her just redo it but take a new approach. This more mellow approach doesn't capture the original spirit of the song. It's slower when it's meant to send a spark up your spine like a wake up call and this is more cautious and classy. Good, but less fitting for the message of the lyrics. Marina's a legend regardless though.
