The song was supposed to be featured on Spiderman but they (Gnecco & May) missed a tight deadline so it was only featured on the soundtrack instead of the actual film. A big shame based on bad luck, this song likely would have been much bigger had it been on the actual film

@@GGSOG didn't know that! Rather unfortunate. One of my favourite songs ever--both the Eleven/Cornell and the Gnecco/May versions
@samvimes my condolences for your tremendous loss. 💔 Chris was every bit a star. Personality, insight, songwriting, uniqueness, singing voice, lyrics... Soul-baring Genius fan of music and a helping force for many of us who have gone thru traumatic experiences.
Chris Cornell's version is better than the soundtrack. He could sing any genre and this is another example of his superb writing skills..Such an extraordinary artist....I listen to his music daily...RIP, Chris...Your music will live forever....❤
To the ignorant people who believe that a certain Jimmy Gnecco wrote this song, I'll leave this here: Someone To Die For Performed by Jimmy Gnecco with Brian May on guitar. Released on the Spiderman 2 soundtrack in 2004 Words by Alain Johannes, Natasha Shneider and Chris Cornell. Music by Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider.
I saw comments people discussing who wrote the song and I say I don't really care. All I know is that it's the perfect Chris Cornell that I grew up with. Hauntingly passionate and powerful. My first time hearing it was last night. I've been listening to it more than once an hour since. God blessed him with such talent just like he did Layne and Kurt. My three top vocalists of all time. I'm sure I'll catch heat for that comment.
R.I.P. Chris you were my dad’s favorite artist. He always wanted to see you preform live but he never did unfortunately. He also wanted to start a band but he didn’t do it.
Alain Johannes himself sent me an MP3 of this song back in the early 2000s. Great guy. This song was one that just didn't make euphoria morning. To be honest it wouldn't have fitted on that album well, love it tho
That's a cool story! I agree it's a bit too slow paced for euphoria morning, even When I'm down have more intensity than this, great song nonetheless. It definitely feels more like an Eleven song, I could hear Alain singing this, though it fits Chris' voice really great the song is more of an Eleven one.
WOW! Didnt know that the tracks that didnt make it for euphoria mourning were around! I would love to check them all! do you know where/how could I get to them? cheers!
J. Sias welcome to ur own opinion but it was recorded at 11AD studios the same year as euphoria morning. Same as ave Maria was too, but that was never for the album. I would agree with Isak ronestjarna, it’s totally an eleven song, I would have had it on howling book happily.
Garden of sound?? ok ill subscribe, its obviously a to SOUNDGARDEN, best band to EVER existed with the Jesus Christ of vocals Himself Chris Cornell🌟🌟🌟🌟
I got the SpiderMan 2 soundtrack a long time ago and loved this song done by Jimmy Gnecco with Brian May. Then discovered later when reading the inlay of the disc that it was written by Chris. So that's why It felt different.
When I heard the Jimmy and Bri version of the song there was just SOMETHING that had me loving it and couldn't put my finger on it of course Brian May's guitar playing was epic but the vocals and words they were just something else then today I discovered WHY... I don't profess to be a huge Chris Cornell fan but there's just something about him and his voice that makes me and no doubt millions of others around the world just be mesmerised with his vocal power and I just wish I had delved more into his music before his passing
Well, being more precise - the song was written not only by Cornell but also by en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natasha_Shneider and her husband en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alain_Johannes - check those great, however less known names! Cornell played tribute to Natasha after her death. Amazing history which I learned today.
It must be said that Cornell's covers are often better than the original. This is one example, and there are many more, such as Nothing Compares to You, Sad Sad City, and several others that I can't remember right now. A musical gem has left us, not just rock. A unique and incomparable artist. Everything he touched, he shone. A genius of those that are 1 in 100 million. Enjoy every work he left us, because there won't be anything like it for many long years.
Wow that was deep Alan Johannes and his wife wrote this that's so cool I means more in a way Chis really admired him likewise I'm sure great great song

Yea, I’ve heard such rumors too but I can find no source of the April 2007 interview. Everybody just seem to reiterate the same phrase. Perhaps you could provide a valid source?
it was supposed to be for the soundtrack to Spiderman 2, but instead they used the crappy version by Jimmy Gnecco for some reason. Oh...and no it's not on Euphoria Morning.
In his song text. Looks like he's had enough of her and the Greek nationality which is quite special. he didn't know how without going out. He chose Death. That's a shame 😢
Actually, he didn't write it, it was written for the Spiderman OST and this is just him recording it and I also remember seeing an interview where he emphasizes how he did not write it haha...
did you know that this song isn't actually his. he didn't take credit for it either Jimmy Gnecco actually wrote it. they talk about it in an interview.
dont understand why isnt this song a big hit, it gives me such chills and it hit me hard.

A well thought out song with all of it's melody.
💯 agree BUT to us who admire him it is 👍🏻
Reminds me of my late wife. Seems like Chris wrote a song for every important thing I ever lived through.

Spider-Man 2 is in my opinion
I prefer Jimmy gnecco
I prefer a mix between Chris voice and May's guitar solo 👍

I love you so much Chris. :(
I prefer the Chris's voice, it's more intensive and deeper than the Spider-Man' soundtrack... But I love both versions
This really needs a remake.
I love this song. I don't understand why it's not on the Euphoria album. IMO, it is much better than, let's say... Mission
Better than a couple of EM songs, but... Mission? Really? Mission is awesome!
All the songs on EM are amazing....IMO

Yea, I’ve heard such rumors too but I can find no source of the April 2007 interview. Everybody just seem to reiterate the same phrase. Perhaps you could provide a valid source?
The official publicity line may be that Gnecco wrote it. But these seem unmistakably like Cornell lyrics through and through.
maan, this should have been in spiderman 2 sountrack such a shame
they made great music/songs together sounds like a Euphoria song but if it belongs to another writer do be it
@vivazapata1910 Hey, I didn't knew that.
Garden of Sound I wish you were still here
Is this on Euphoria Morning?
it was supposed to be for the soundtrack to Spiderman 2, but instead they used the crappy version by Jimmy Gnecco for some reason.

Better version is this
Had me confused with the same cover as right turn. Versatility is his middle name
So sad CC went to the returns and refunds office and never came back

Sounds a little like "Disappearing One"
unclececil Eleven did was the band who made Euphoria Mourning with him.
