    instead of tur dal , chikpea dal can be used..? ...here in uttar pradesh soya methi is made at home, with methi green soya is added , and some people made it in curry form but its quite tough my mom cooks it, n mostly people cook it dry with potatoes with some garlic cloves....

      It's the split green gram (dal).you can also use tuvar dal(split pigeon peas )

    How many minutes did you put the dal on high flame to cook before adding fenugreek? And for how long did you put fenugreek and kept it high flame?

      You should siak it in warm water first till it becomes soft and cook u can judge the texture
