They performed it live with Halsey a few times on award shows. That would give you a definitive answer
In the first chorus it's Jimin singing it and in the second chorus (when she shows up) it's Halsey from that point on. Also the little oh oh oh ah sounds are a mixture of Jimin and Jungkook's vocals. Halsey does all the chorus parts in the official audio though rather than the mv ver. In this version it's more of Jimin that we hear.
Halsey is the unofficial eighth member of BTS. She is their friend and one of their fiercest defenders, a true Mama Bear.

This is not just a love song. The Korean title for this song is a Poem for Small things. RM quote “It’s about finding little joy in love, being curious about the little things, the details like what you’re eating, what you’re doing. But, most importantly, Boy With Luv is like a fan letter from BTS to ARMY. That’s the most important thing.” If you pay attention to the lyrics they are saying "although we became famous thanks to ARMY we still want to remain humble and stay by your side."
Most of their “love songs” are written as love songs to ARMY foremost.

I just commented how the imagery was deep into the Map of the Soul theory and launched that era. I didn't even touch on the lyrics *or* that this continued the mask portion of the Love Yourself era and finding acceptance of all our parts of Self and how we've been on that journey long with the group! There are so many layers to their work we could all pick one and write totally different dissertations on them! 😅💜
The thing I love the most about this video, besides the song itself, is the shoutout given to one of the best musicals of all time, “Singing in the Rain”! From Hobi’s rap, to V dancing in the park with the lamps, to RM’s rap especially it’s all an homage to Gene Kelly. The hat, the way the crowd runs forward, the marquees, all from the great dream dance sequence. Look up “Gotta Dance” from “Singin’ in the Rain”. It’s just so brilliant and unexpected. 😊 As Jimin likes to say, you nice, keep going. Would love to see you react to older stuff too - “Like” “Hold Me Tight” “Coffee” “Danger” “N.O.” etc just so you can see how they’ve grown and built on their exceptional talent with mind blowing hard word. 💜

HALSEY has an amazing relationship with BTS. SUGA was at her house for Xmas and she refer's to BTS as her sons uncles. 💜🔥💙
That "oh yea oh yea" is still Jimin 😆. The oh my my my you thought was Halsey is also not Halsey. Halsey only comes in when she appears. The original song title in Korean means a different thing but Jimin suggested that it gets changed because post translation the title may be mis-read. There is also the BTS song called "boy in love". At the mma 2019 they sang both songs back to back.
They are better than any Boy Band we ever had in the USA. I don't call them a band because they all have something special like any others. Love them. I'm not young so I know all the popular Boy Bands.

This song is a companion to an earlier BTS song called Boy in Luv, about young teen love and loving another. This song is about finding love within oneself and Halsey represents Army. The boy in luv is now with love. This song is simple for a reason. BTS wanted to show their love for Army and the love Army have for them. RM stated that the group’s view on love isn’t one grand gesture. But rather, a large sum of small things. We watched their rise to popularity and fame while facing so many hardships (Oh my, my, my, I've waited all my life, I want to be with you through everything.) We Army waited a long time to see them where they are!!!💜💜💜
Production of BTS videos is second to none! The attention to every detail is mind blowing. In tandem with their immense talent the production value is why this video has 1.6 billion views.
The studio version definitely has more Halsey or you can hear her more clearly 👍🏽
Managed to catch this one right as the premiere ended! It was great. A couple of classic BTS songs to listen to are "Fake Love" and "Blood Sweat & Tears". I would also recommend watching the dance practice of "Run BTS", a relatively newer song. Or you could bring it back to 2013 and listen to their first song, "No More Dream". Happy listening!

This was interesting because the audio has Halsey more than does the MV. But you can hear Halsey in all the Chorus and stacking with Jimin, you are correct. Like I said you can hear it in the audio much better. I think they raised he audio in the audio version. Right you are right when you say that, just so you know Jimin has a bit of a yodel at the end as he takes his breath. It's his Busan accent. Love the lyrics of this song, and J-Hope has a really bouncy flow, its his dancing background.
Just in a sidenote Halsey and the members are such good friends that Suga went to go see Halsey's baby and gave the baby one of its first gift, she also sang with him in LA during his solo concert.
They performed this at the BBMAs and a ton of people were pleasantly surprised/impressed in that audience.

The "bouncy" rap style you mentioned is specifically j-hope's style of rap. He raps like he's dancing with his voice, making a very unique and distinctive sound for his raps. I think it comes mostly because he wasn't a rapper before he became a trainee, and learned rap from RM and Suga, then self-developed his own style from there.
Halsey's relationship with BTS is the actual best. She's the only collaborating artist who's actually done their choreography with them, and any time they interact she's like their sister. She invited Suga to spend Christmas with her and her family when he was working on his D-Day album in LA, and the guys even gave her a microphone to match the ones that they use. If anyone is the "8th member" of BTS, Halsey would be at the top of that list.
BTS and Halsey really did form a great friendship. She gave each one of them a personally designed gift while at rehearsal for their Live Billboard performance. When Suga was in CA as seen in his documentary he visits Halsey at her home and the funniest thing happens. She styles his hair like hers. Halsey has a great relationship with BTS, especially Suga. After this song, there is Suga’s Interlude on her album, which they performed live for the first time at one of Suga’s US D-Day tour concerts this year. She appeared in his Road to D-Day Disney doc when he visited her house in LA. And recently Suga featured on Halsey’s song -Lilith- Diablo 4 Anthem (video game theme song) where he raps/sings in English.

in the first part of the song it’s jimin singing the layered vocals and in the second portion where halsey shows up is when her vocals are coming through although i believe her portion has a bit of jimin in it as well ( jungkook is also a layered vocal in both of their parts)

2:14 yes and nope, Halsey didn’t have a lot of featuring in the music video she only had a tiny part at the end and the “my my my”, other than that it’s Jimin and Jungkook, HOWEVER if you listen to the official version of the song on their album and music platforms, it has a lot more of Halsey in it, it sounds different.
I’d like to add that the reason I think they did that it’s because of K-pop comebacks being different than what artists do in the western industry and because she was the first female artist BTS collaborated with (:
BTS gifted Halsey her own sparkly mic after she admired theirs! For the 64th Annual GrammyAwards, she was sick, but she left home long enough to attend so she could watch them perform Butter which they were nominated for! Then she left and went home to bed! In fact watch that performance!!!!JK an JHope barely made it as they had been in quarantine 10days with covid. They only got one rehearsal in and it is one of the best top notch performances by BTS. A standing O!!!❤

This was my first comeback, and I was so excited to see the video when it came out!! I love it all, especially Tae's blue hair, and his little "yay!" at the end is just the cutest!!🥰🥰

You should watch the live performance of this from the BBMAs in 2019. The BangtanTV one has good angles and doesn’t cut from them. Though the audio isn’t the best. You can hear the fan chants though 😂

There's 2 versions..1 has more Halsey vocals. BTS and Halsey have developed a family relationship over the years...esp with Suga. While Suga was in the USA recently he visited Halsey and her partner and spent some time with them and their baby. He shared some of that time together with ARMY

So this was the follow up to their Boy in Luv - where some criticized it for being a little misogynistic- whereas Boy With Luv is a love letter to ARMY. During the end after RM raps you can see all their album titles on the building Marquees.

Nathan, you would enjoy "SUGA's Interlude," a very sweet, short track from Halsey's album Manic. Halsey calls SUGA her "twin" because she has a lot in common with him, and they are good friends. SUGA is also featured on a remix of Halsey's song "Lilith" from her album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power. The "Lilith" remix is for the OST of a video game called Diablo, and there's an MV for it that's quite dramatic and worth watching!
