- Fresh off a Venice Film Festival premiere (literally the morning after), Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and director Denis Villeneuve chat with Tara Hitchcock about their new epic, sci-fi adventure DUNE. Tara offers to start a GoFund Me account to get Part Two made (hopefully it will be greenlit before opening in theaters 10/22) and the two stars talk about responsibility and the skills they'd love to learn if they had the time!

We're all excited about DUNE and about seeing Timothee and Zendaya doing press together ahead of the film, but I don't think you're getting enough love for how skilled you are as an interviewer! Excellent question choice, great job directing the conversation, you let the actors speak without interruption and you are so engaging throughout! This is how we should all aspire to interview! Taking notes!
I literally have to pause the video every 30 seconds. I cannot handle looking at these two beautiful people together. Their chemistry and personalities just radiate beyond the screen.

I was waiting for I think around 2/3? years to see Zendaya and Timothée’s dynamic since this movie cast was announced and it’s so sweet to see now they are the best!
They really are the young actors in Hollywood that represent to me comfort and sincerity. Feels like they just have no ego; are relatable and very refreshingly honest in their communication.
I actually felt zendaya's ego in this one pretty strongly. I fet like she didn't like too much not being at the center of the spotlight in this specific occasion? Part of the interview is cut in this video but in the whole version you can see how the interviewer addresses Timmy first for the second question and Zendaya kinda interrupts him before he can even start, after side eyeing him ( which can be seen at the beginning of the video). I love Zendaya, this is just me overanalyzing most likely but still - I can't shake the feeling that she's a bit jealous of Timmy - I feel like she partly admires him and partly feels a tinge of genuine jealousy for not being where he is and not getting his same recognition - at least in this specific context where clearly, he's the lead of the movie

She interrupted because she wanted to speak her thoughts before she forgets cause she knew she was next to asnwer the same question besides that Timothee was still thinking about his answer so I don't get why are bothered by that
They are friends and wouldn't have been paired together if interviewers wanted only Timmy to get the "spotlight"

I agree, I honestly do not feel much ego coming from either of them. I've always admired z bc she seems like such a gracious, grateful person. she never complains about anything and is always so professional and upstanding. she just sticks to herself and works hard and doesn't bother anyone. same with Tom Holland and Timothee. those three are really giving me hope for the future of hollywood.

@@stea2321 try watching some videos about it. there are lots of great youtubers who cover the premise and who explain confusing concepts which can help spark your interest. also, try listening to the story instead of reading!

Hearing Timothee asked alot of questions and Denis stating he's intellectual is further impressing on me that he was the perfect casting for Paul.
for beautiful boy he showed up to the audition with the book fully read and annotated and he watched documentaries of addiction to learn how addicts behave so yeah, he's a researcher. he read all of dune before interviewing with denis, too.
@@heatherbukowski2102 he was half way through reading Dune when Denis invited him to the Cannes film festival to speak to him about the role for Paul. He said the first half of his copy was filled with annotations before he started filming. I imagine he asked alot of questions of Denis to make sure he was portraying the character correctly. It must have also helped that they both speak French.
I hope the best for these two young actors. They seem so normal in that crazy business.

I'm glad to see them interact with each other and be at ease because on the Red carpet they looked a little frosty and I was so worried.
yeah they were super awkward together on the red carpet. seemed to me like they were consciously trying not to be too physically close. I can't blame them, fans are crazy af.

It was odd - particularly since they are playing love interests in this huge movie.
They seemed way more comfortable here.
She said she was only on set for 3 days. And they filmed 2 years ago. I'm sure they are getting to know each other now that they are doing press together.
@@DutchyDutchess89 yeah. he didn't even pose with lily, his girlfriend at the time, during "the king" premiere and she was his movie love interest. he avoids that kind of attention like the plague. and he likes tom too, I bet he's just aggressively not wanting to step on toes lol.

I get you want to throw out interesting and thought provoking questions to get som unique and real moments from the actors/director but from the beginning these curveballs q’s really just put awkward pressure on them.
“Tell us a time someone said exactly what you needed to hear?”
That really puts someone on the spot doesn’t it? That is like an essay question that requires some time to dig into your memory to think of something. Can YOU answer that question off the top oft our head? I can’t.
The young actors tried their best to ramble off something that sounded meaningful enough that they thought would satisfy. Bless their hearts.

Denis Villeneuve know that part 2 will be produced for a good reason. just take an example from Zack Snyder's Justice League. His fans waged a relentless campaign for years to make it happen. i belive that Denis Villeneuve has a good fanbase that will chant for Part 2 and they will push Warner brothers pictures to do so

They’ve actually been hanging out a lot before this film got released and even in interviews they said they got really close plus felt like they knew each other for a long time.
