Yes! That funny teenage awkwardness is slowly disappearing in Timothee as he learns to trust his skills and knows himself better. That's the most beautiful thing about growing up, I guess! I believe one day Timothee becomes a charmingly confident gentleman with elegant moves and this lovely open-hearted smile :)
After now following this boy quite a bit in the past month, I think that when Denis stated that Timothee was "a brilliant actor" for him in the movie, it was NOT hyperbole! I now believe that Timothee is, in fact, brilliant - no not just as a variant of "stunning in performance", but LITERALLY intellectually brilliant. So much so that I see him as dynamically, real-time, generating his public persona image in different public settings (in addition to being able to transform himself into drastically different character forms on screen)

This is one of the best interviews I have seen Chalamet in. He is so intelligent and mature here, with unaffected humility. He is almost a perfect human: young, gorgeous, dedicated, vibrant, generous, humble. I also adore this director! He seems so warm, kind, and intelligent. I watched his demeanor on a red carpet premier and it was lovely.
I appreciate your remark that he is almost a perfect human. Although NO person will be literally perfect, Tim rates higher on the combined scale of measures than anyone I have ever seen. And I am 73 (still with a fully alert, acute and perceptive mind to recall with) I point the age span out to let you know I have seen a LOT of prior theatrical and celebrity greats over many decades. And no one actor stands out (in the overall, combination of traits) near to what Tim does. To say that this boy was blessed with it all is almost an understatement. I'm someone who DOES NOT follow "celebrities" or movie stars, etc. at all. And don't like modern era movies in general - at all. I just happened to see the ad for The King and watched it. The thing that astounds me so thoroughly is his phenomenal DUAL nature. To be able to go from superficial, light-hearted carefree boy to deeply expressive, intelligent, sensually seething young man portraying solemn scenes - wow. What a visual, and emotional, treat.
I partly see his 'humility' as not totally honest - in that - I believe he KNOWS he's great. And in my opinion HE IS clearly the best one.
