I am in Canada and I didn't know they were called different names. lol I wondered why you were calling a 'sc' by the term 'dc' 😏 Keep up the fantastic and helpful work please 👍 If I may make a suggestion....you could start on one corner and work continually across without having to cut/add yarn at each section. It would just require using a slip stitch across the straight edges to the next section; then starting to fill in the next space till it's done. Slip stitch over to the next section and continue till all are filled in. Worked for me anyhow!!

7 years ago and still a Thank God from me. I'm doing a blanket for my parents (it's King size, I'm crazy) and I've been using mitered squares but on the diagonal. I don't like how it looks just leaving the jagged edges so this tutorial is SO needed. Thank you!

Hey ladies I see the question hasn’t been answered but would a slip stitch not work to move across to the next section? Assuming the question is if you attach yarn again each time? Each filling in of the chevrons would have to be done separately. Otherwise you would end up adding length to the blanket that might not be needed. Would you not? I think doing the corners last or as you go would be a preference. I know the question is old but if any of you are like me I hoard patterns for years haha or procrastinate patterns for long periods of time 🤪. Happy stitching gals

I'm struggling...My chevron crochet is worked in multiples of 14. I am following your instructions, however, something is amiss when I am converting your 11 stitch chevron to my 14 stitch chevron. My valley's skip two as your valley's do, and my peaks have three stitches as your peaks do. Any advise?
Hi my chevron is 13 stitches before my skip two and peak of 3 so what was your stitches before that made you decide you needed 11 to start the straight edge ?
There are many different ways to crochet the chevron stitch and some patterns use more or less stitches before the valley/peaks - in the pattern I have used as shown here: ruclips.net/video/NS3ydo_pcrs/видео.html there are eleven stitches 😊
Would there be a difference in the first corner as opposed to the last corner? I have all my v's filled in on both sides, so all my stitches are facing the same way. My first corner works from the edge in, which keeps them still facing the same way. In the last corner, I feel I should be starting at the top and working out to the edge, but I didn't see you cover that in the video

How do I adjust this if I have a different stitch count for my chevrons? My pattern is 29+3 so I work 13 SC up and down each side, 3 SC in each peak and sk 2 st for each valley.
@@annawhite7570 I have the exact same stitch count as you, and I was able to do it just today following Bella Coco's instructions easily. Where she says 11 stitches, you count 13, then next row is 11, then next row, 9, then, 7 and so on. It does work and comes up very nicely. When you start, you either count 13 up the mountain (Bella's 11) and tie into the 13th stitch, OR, as I discovered, tie into the left hand stitch of the 3SC in the peak. I hope this makes sense.
Have you ever tried doing this in reverse? Where you start out with straight stitches and then go into the chevron? I'm working on my first blanket and would like to do a chevron but I don't know if it would work. Any advice?

I am going to try this on my hexagon blanket as I made the recommended triangles to fill the gaps but my gaps are wider than the standard triangles so I didn’t work, I’m hoping this will bridge the gap, I’m assuming the template will work the same of starting with DC for the amount of stitches I have and just decreasing by 2 each time? I’m trying it out on a sample to see first, if it works I’ll try and put up a pic
Yes, you could certainly try this same method for the tops of a hexagon blanket 😊 If the triangles for your hexagon blanket are too small, could you try adding an extra round to make them larger?

You should work the bottom of the blanket in exactly the same way as you did the top; the triangle gaps are there the same, you just won't have the half triangle spaces at the sides 😊
I have a question how would this work if it's a big bump 10 single crochet chain 2 an repeat the 10 skip two (low) an then 5 single crochet chain 2 an then 5 single an then 10 single chain 2 an then repeat from the first 10 .... hope that makes sense new at re writing the pattern please help me with this I believe I'd have to work up the high to the next high (work over the low)
I like your step by step instructions. After the instructions could you include a written copy of the pattern so I could have it to refer to. If you could send me a copy of the written pattern I would appreciate it.

You should make it CLEAR that you skip the two at the trough when counting the 11. I had to go watch another persons video to see how to do the initial count.
I'm sorry that this was confusing for you however the tutorial does say at the beginning of the video that you skip stitches and also at 2.24 on the video it shows you how to skip the stitches :)
