I think she is the greatest. Talented and kind she is the epitome of all things good about Hollywood. A bad choice in men she still did her best. R.I.P. Doris. You will be remembered as long as your fans are alive.

Her son? Terry Melcher passed away in 2004 which makes me wonder who you talked to.

it was well-known that the lawyers kept the case going even through Rosenthal had stashed away the money. He died shortly afterward.

He sounds like a shady lawyer, and then he turned into being a liar and a thief. He saw a good thing, and he went after it.

She was too trusting. Her son died before she did so he couldn't have told you anything. I liked her early films and always came away feeling uplifted.

Doris was great! She was so busy and so talented. She had a great singing voice and acted in some of the funniest movies. It helped that she had a great movies partner in Rock Hudson. They were great together and friends for life.

I was always a huge Doris Day fan. I have noticed that people as good and kind as she was are often easy prey for narcissistic types. Genuinely good people seem to flash a sign to these people that reads “user friendly”. I think she attracted more than her share. How much good it says about her that she never became bitter. She’s on my top 10 list of most admired people.

Doris Day will always be one of my favorite actresses. Such talent and a great entertainer. Rock Hudson and Doris Day were a great entertaining couple as well as best friends. Doris day and James Garner were also great entertainment. My favorite movies were Pillow Talk, The Thrill of it all, With 6 you get eggroll, Move over Darling and That Touch of Mink, The Glass Bottom Boat, and Send Me no Flowers. She was a great entertainer and is missed by all.

She was a favorite of mine too. If you read her autobiography she said she liked to be taken care of and not worry about the business end. She wanted to divorce Melcher but he convinced her that she couldn’t because of finances. When she was told by him that there was not much liquid money for her to buy a $300 painting boy I would have left him. Also, near the end of her life the caretakers that lived with her made sure she didn’t see her grandson and I guess they got all her money. Some people are evil!

melcher, the 3rd husband, was the one who use to beat the crap out of her😮, and wasn't her son Terry, involved with the Manson Family?😮

    • @CharlieChilders-wm9gb
      @CharlieChilders-wm9gb 5 месяцев назад +6

You are mistaken. You need to read her biography. Al Jordan (her first husband) was the one who beat the crap out of her when he walked into a bar and saw her flirting with some guy. Since she and her father were always attracted to black men/and women, he probably was also black. Still, no one has the right to beat and threaten to kill anyone. However, etc...

This Doris Day bio is seriously INCOMPLETE.
The story of her successful TV Series "The Doris Day Show"(which I loved especially for her dry wit) arranged by her husband before he died which she didn't want to do aired for 5 years 1968 -1973 was to pay back some of her debt.
And more history about that awful attorney too.

(Just a little more, I promise)...
The *only* other person invited to stay over was the maid, Winifred Chapman, whose home A/C wasn't working that hot Summer night (Sharon didn't want her to be uncomfortably hot). Her decision to go home anyway, at the end of her shift, indeed saved *her* life. She's the one who found the bodies the next morning, when she returned to work.
The news media will print *anything* to make $$$$, though. Also, for a "Christian" society, we Americans are *sure adept* at spreading unfounded gossip, and *believing* it, too. Too bad we don't devote as much energy to *protecting* the victims of Greed (as advised to do by JC) as we do to *harshly judging* others, about whom we know little to nothing. Even though the directions were to *"Judge Not".* 😕
It *is* hard to *not* judge, sometimes, I'll admit. Esp. when it comes to someone w/ a long track record of hurting those around them. That's particularly true of someone who spent *over 2 decades "discoing"* w/ Jeff Epstein (rather than simply being unsuccessfully targeted for blackmail, then having their name added to a list for *further* such attempts). Sometimes, where there's smoke, there is indeed a *raging bonfire.* It's only *"devout" hypocrites* who *cannot* recognize such realities. The rest of us are better off just sticking to *confirmed Facts.* But I digress...
Dennis Wilson, of the Beach Boys, was the one who'd brought Manson around, introducing him to Melcher. Dennis had met some of "Manson's girls" & invited them back to his home to "party". Soon, his place was over-run w/ *cultists* masquerading as "hippies", followed by Charlie, who *wouldn't leave.* Those girls were the "bait" that *opened certain doors* for him. Wilson soon realized that having a house full of willing bedmates w/ party favors (drugs) *wasn't* as "cool" as it had initially seemed. Charie's insistence on *controling* that strange scene, like the psycho little Hitler he was, soon grew unnerving for his new music-industry "buddies" as his cult mooched off of them like ticks (giving them various STDs in the process). Wilson eventually had to *move* b/c he couldn't get *Charlie's Freak Show OUT* of his home.
I've re-worded your comment, to make it more *truthful...*
Sharon Tate, a lovely actress from a nice family, on the verge of motherhood, *already loved* her precious child. She was over-the-moon in *joyous anticipation* of her baby's pending arrival. As the baby grew, Sharon would have likely resumed the career she planned to put on temporary hold. Marvelously talented, she very well may have built a *stellar career* as our *funniest bombshell comedian.* She wasn't "just" a beautiful woman w/ great comedic timing, though. She was also widely known to be an *exceptionally kind* person. Making this crime *all the more horrific,* as well as the rumors that followed.
Such "golden" people tend to awaken the *green monster of Jealousy* in others. That may help to explain what happened next...
Sadly, Sharon & the others were murdered by strangers, acting in fealty to a *criminal racist nut job.* Manson controlled his cult & trained them to rob, recruit & kill. *Those* were the folks who had indeed devoted themselves to *drugs, transactional sex & other crimes.*
The *only* reason those Desert Goons had access to *any* of these folks is b/c *famous mIsogynists wanted easy-access to young, willing girls.*
      *That's* the Truth, man.
It's *not* "All of Hollyweird" we need to be concerned about, nor is that the grouo from whom our kids *most* need protection. There are many *fine, upstanding people* in that industry, both in front of the camera & behind it.
Are there creeps, too? Of course, just like there are *everywhere* else. We're just more likely to hear about *famous* creeps than we are their *non-famous* brethren.
*No group* is a monolith, full of carbon copies, b/c *we're all individuals* instead. But there *are some* groups of whom we should be *Quite Wary.* Looking at *statistics,* which group presents the *Greatest Danger?* Most ladies would agree that it's *males.* Judging by the daily news, and going back through *centuries* of recorded history, it seems to be that *roughly 30-40%* of guys cause the *most* terror, pain & heartache.
That's indeed *"not all"* of them. Just a *giant %. Do better, Boys,* so that *fewer* innocent people are hurt by the "unintended consequences" of such *putrid selfishness.*
And FFS, please *Don't allow* rag-sheets to spread lies about those who've perish as a result crimes committed by subpar dudes. The world of women & children *will appreciate* having *more allies* than attackers, I promise. I mean, once we can get to the point that we *DO* have that *army of allies* backing us up.
Instead, these days, those guys are watching Faux or attacking society to protect the Rapist to whom they want to, once again, hand Power. *MAGAs converts* have a lot more *in common* w/ Charlie than they realize. 🙄
Just 1 more thing: Drug addiction is indeed a huge issue, and we need to address it. With compassion, for those impacted by it. That includes folks whose addictions began w/ a broken ankle or pulled muscle. If we go after anyone harshly, it should rightly be the pushers. Time to hold the *Sacklers criminally responsible.* Fining those who've banked billions *rarely* brings about the needed changes. They *knew* what they were risking, and *who* would be hurt & killed. And they *lied* about their product, anyway, b/c.... *GREED.* ☠
