According to Courtney's dad, she started singing when she was five or six years ago. She started singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and went on from there. And went on she did. She would go basking in front of the store's at the malls to pay for her vocal lessons and gas money. She was doing this at age ten, she's always worked her butt off to be the best she can be. She was in The Voice Kids UK 🇬🇧. Really amazing .and she came back to the Champions of the world thing there in the USA with her own song blowing everyone away !
"What in the world did we just witness"? You witnessed the next big thing in music is what-- Courtney Hadwin! You've got a lot of biographical data on Courtney in the comments, as well as more suggested videos; you do a great reaction, so I look forward to seeing much more of Courtney from you. Her many fans love to see first-time reactions to this and the shock-and-awe response. Courtney was unmercifully bullied online during AGT by some uninsightful haters who tried paint her anxious shyness as fake. It was not. There are many famous adult performers like that, turning into a different dynamic performer once they start singing. Even the great Aretha Franklin refused to perform for a long period of time because of stage anxiety. When you saw Courtney previously, she had actually matured and didn't have to talk before she started singing. Now at 16 Courtney has become more socially comfortable and has a very appealing personality. This was by far her biggest chance with millions watching and so much at stake. That certainly ramped up her nerves. You are correct that this gave her best widespread recognition. She is signed with Sony and on her way with a debut album and performances that will take her to the top, only delayed so far by the pandemic.
I'm 58 in November. I'm a massive Janis Joplin fan. When I saw this performance originally I say yh hey man, the late great Janis has possessed the body of this girl. Janis was the most powerful, soulful singer I've ever heard, and this girl nailed her talents
Courtney has the stage equivalent of sporting "white line fever". Courtney made the final of The Voice Kids in the UK in 2017 and was well known in Britain and beyond before she was on AGT in 2018.
I think you may have the wrong idea about the voice kids and British audiences. I personally did not see any of the voice kids shows so was totally ignorent of them and Courtney at that time. I only got into her music and style through coriousity when I heard there was a British girl on a program called AGT
When she stood there with her head down at the beginning - she was going into "Beast Mode" and then as the song was done ..... Beast Mode ended and back to shy Courtney.
I just knew you would go for Courtney Hadwin after I watched a bunch of your Liliac reactions. There are many fans who love both of these guys. I still get chills watching this video when watching a reactor view it. She's so much fun to watch perform. As shy as she was when she started, once that audience jumped to there feet and Courtney made that first turn and little dance step you could sense the confidence turn up 20 notches. That crowd actually jumped to their feet. They didn't just stand up, they were in shock. Some will say these shows are all planned out and edited for TV. But there's somethings you just can't plan out. The emotion of all the faces from the audience says it all. The next performance she did on that show was just as good, minus the surprising shock factor. There's a number of new young artists who are into old school music and I love seeing it. Courtney herself has said our music we grew up with is so much more fun, and that she prefers to listen to it way more than much of today's music. I found it funny when Howie asked her is she ever knew the story of how Janis Joplin got signed after she was at the Monterey music festival. And Courtney's response was "YEA". Like, no other kid that age or even older would have know about that story. That's how much Courtney looks up to that era of music. She studies it and practices it over and over. We heard her vocal coach Julie Miles tell how Courtney practices a performance 100's of times in her studio and then Courtney while she's home she practices it 100's of times over and over more. She's a hard worker, but I doubt to her it's work at all. She constantly singing when she shares her life on her live chats on social media. Music is literally in her blood and bones. It's hard work, but it's also fun. Edward DeVogelear gave you some great links to look into, one of which is "Papa's got a brand new bag" which is the second performance by Courtney on AGT that season. I'm sure whichever video you pick will be a hit. And I'm pretty confident you'll enjoy each one just as much.
As soon as she set her feet, she got into her zone and then pure magic happened! I have heard the Black Crowes 'Hard to Handle' covered many times. Never by Janis Joplin!!!!!! Wow.
Hello, just found you. great genuine reactions to Courtney Hadwin. Nothing worse than acted reaction channels. Just want to bring your attention to her Second performance on AGT "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag". It is truely on another level, a must watch.
Her newest Song "She don't live here anymore" is also good, maybe you'd like to check it out by time. This AGT Audition was 5 years ago by now so obviously she grew (up). =)
look back MICHAEL JACKSON, PRINCE, MICK JAGGER and many other singers out there was very shy off the stage but when they got on the stage all of them change into a completely different person ! COURTNEY is the same way ! great reaction on COURTNEY could you do much more on her ? like -- [ FALLING IN LOVE ] very young in this one ! & [ PAPAS GOT A BRAND NEW BAG ] & [ RIVER DEEP MOUNTAIN HIGH ] & [ I FEEL GOOD ] & [ WHO'S LOVING YOU ] & [ SAY SOMETHING ] very young ! & [ MAN IN THE MIRROR ] & [ NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS ] on the voice in the UK ! all of these are so amazing ! here is one more this one is her song - [ PRETTY LITTLE THING ] COURTNEY had 3 standing ovations on this one ! thank you !
Janis Jopln was giving her a standing ovation from the beyond the veil, too. This performance took me back to my teen years when Janis burst on the scene.
Courtney is shy as many super stars are , including Michael Jackson ,when they are not performing they are very reserved and shy but when on stage and the music starts they explode into another person, and then go back to the shy soul they are when it is over, that is Courtney Hadwin. no fake shy facade that is who she is.
Thank you Highly 👍. Another great reaction... It would be fun to see you react to Callum Scott, singing Dancing on my own, on Britain's got Talent... Thanks again be safe, and be happy my friend 👍💞👍
Do you know that she opened at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops singing "Piece of My Heart" by JJ? They were honoring Clive Davis (from Howie Mandel's story) who actually asked for Courtney. How many 19 year olds have ever opened at Carnegie Hall? You can find it on the internet.
Courtney was so nervous backstage before her performance that she got sick and the show producers moved 2 acts ahead of her to give her some time to compose herself. Here is a video that shows Courtney backstage before and after her performance. ruclips.net/video/bMJZzDzweK4/видео.html

Look into another You tube sensation. Teddy Swims.....You Can't Make Me Love You. The epitome of not judging a book by it's cover. An absolutely amazing voice.
Watch what Simon does with his pen .... He did in fact sign her with Syco ,/ Sony music Arista . Covid has delayed her appearances and album production.
imagine you were a passer by and suddenly the entire back wall of the building blew out and 30 hair pieces of various styles came sailing out with it......................................
Susan Boyle only had to start singing and the audience went wild originally thinking she might end up getting to sing Professionally like her fave artist Ellen Page
She got a ride deal in the very end. She should’ve won at least one championship and she got shot down three times. I think that’s about it but she still champion in my book
Not only can she belt, she has a wonderful voice. I believe, had she performed a song that showcased her singing ability, she'd have had a better shot at winning. I blame it on Simon.
Not so sure about Simon being the problem for her song choices on AGT. Courtney was in Rock mode then. And she said she had to choose from AGT's list of songs that were approved to not have any legal problem aimed at AGT. Basically AGT had permission to use the songs contestants performed. Courtney had mentioned a few other songs in her live chats that she thought about doing. One I believe was "Jumping Jack Flash" by the Rolling Stones. She was looking to do old school rock songs on that show. My guess is Simon already knew her from the year prior on The Voice Kids UK and wanted her on AGT. She had mentioned on her Facebook page after The Voice Kids was finished that she was going to start recording originals independently, but then became quiet about that. That's when I think AGT offered her to go there. I always wondered if Simon wanted to see how she fared on AGT 1st before reaching out to sign her. Which he did, but supposedly had more competition than he expected at signing her.
@@bertpainter8385 I doubt Simon was involved in getting Courtney on the show, normally it's the people from the casting team that search for talent to recruit for the show. There was a lot of backlash and negative campaining on the internet about her participation in the cometition and singers on the show in general leading up to the final which made it to a number of tevision news reports which probably had more to do with her low placement in the results. This was only the second time that variety acts had dominated the top 5 since the show began.
@@shaung3710 Agreed about the casting people doing their do diligence to recruit her, but I still think there's a good chance that Simon knew about Courtney from his England roots and having BGT. Whether or not he actually made the call is something I doubt will be known to fans. But I do know from a number of different participants of all these shows that they are heavily edited and not at all what the seem to be on TV. They will redo a performance to get a better camera angle or a better audience response. Along with telling them when to applaud when needed for a shot. Some have said they even film what we think happened in real time, actually happens over a period of hours or day. I do remember all the hate she got and had a number of arguments with those haters about her so called fake shy act and she's a screamer not a singer, etc. I used many comments from those who knew her personally or neighbors and many of the people who went to see her in Vegas to back up what I argued with them about. But their hate was too extreme and often went off on tangents to not respond to what I said. Some of them change their point of view to "Oh she was already on other talent shows and she's not from the US. blah blah blah. They just didn't like her style and tried every argument they could muster up to put her down and hopefully bring attention to their favorites.
@@bertpainter8385 I saw that too but if you compare the number of "negative" comments on her earlier performances to the last performance you'll note a sharp increase in not only number of comments but the severity of the complaint. The earlier comments are easily attributed to people with opinions and preferences that didn't match her performance but towards the end of the competition it was closer to a smear campaign which I believe was more aimed at the show itself and the way they presented Courtney than her personally.
@@bertpainter8385 When it comes to 'Reality' shows like this unless I see everything in the same frame on screen I assume there has been editing done especially in the audition and judge cuts where everything is pre-recorded and it's easy for them to swap one clip of an audience reaction for another.
A fantastic talent from the North East of England. I was so dissapointed when she failed to win AGT but once you get over the shows obvious bias towards USA contestants (same happened to both Angelina Jordan & Daneleya Tuleshova), the exposure they get to such a huge audience can only help them grow.
Okay, after the whole AGT thing she did some studio work in Norway I think it was, and she kept a cover track of Love Hurts buried for about a year and a half and then dropped it on a facebook live, like randomly. She was maybe 14 or 15 at the time she did it. The recording and mix is a little rough but the vocal is some pretty powerful shit. I believe it will blow your mind. Love to watch you react to it. ruclips.net/video/bqZjDRXyxOo/видео.html

Love coming back at you haters. No reason for you to even watch this if you already think you know all about her, dude. It only means one thing. You're trolling her. I won't even bother showing you all the proof there is about her nervousness around people she don't know, from piers, family, neighbors and friends. Although she's a beast once she does know you. Think MJ, Prince, Early Elvis, Beyonce with her alter ego. Do I need to go on? You see, trolling Courtney means nothing anymore. Just look above at the like to dislike buttons. Right now it's 671 likes to 7 dislikes. Do you know what that means. NO ONE CARES what you have to say. We love her style, her old school soul, her vocals and her stage presence and performance. Every video shows the same special talent. She's extremely special, different and a trend setter from all of today's so called entertainers/singers. Not only can she perform like all the legends back in the day, she also can out perform better than 99% of all of today's so called talent (maybe 100% better). Yes there's a few great ones today, but nothing like Courtney. And most all people seem to think the same way that know of her. Just look at the ratios of likes to dislikes, and the fact that she has yet to do one concert, yet million of people of waiting for her release to he world. COVID has killed more than just people. The arts are suffering too.
Courtney traveled from England for the audition and went on stage expecting to get buzzed off and sent home because they didn't accept the way she performed. She got a lot of hate and backlash for that after her appearance on The voice kids uk. I suspect a lot of her nerves were from having to talk to the judges in front of a large audience before the song, if she'd been able to go on sing her song and leave she would of been a lot more comfortable on the stage.
I will never ever forget this performance just so special 🐶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎶🎶💿⚘😍

She is signed with Sony and on her way with a debut album and performances that will take her to the top, only delayed so far by the pandemic.
I'm 58 in November. I'm a massive Janis Joplin fan. When I saw this performance originally I say yh hey man, the late great Janis has possessed the body of this girl. Janis was the most powerful, soulful singer I've ever heard, and this girl nailed her talents
Frost break was in the uk 🇬🇧 on uk voice kid’s at 12 but sang in competition’s around Britain.
She's great
Courtney has the stage equivalent of sporting "white line fever".
Holy smokes again!
2018.... Were the F*KC have I been.
Much love
the name of this clip from AGT should be called "A Star Is Born"
Welcome to the awesomness that is Courtney!!
You need to hear Courtney Hadwin's version of " Someone You Loved " she freakin' killed it.
She can sing, still, its just WAUW thanks higly ❣️
Just watched this reaction for the umpteenth time. Just as good now as the song is.
310 MILLION views of this video!!!!
This video now has over 500 million views
As soon as she set her feet, she got into her zone and then pure magic happened!
I have heard the Black Crowes 'Hard to Handle' covered many times. Never by Janis Joplin!!!!!!
Wow.
music on...beast mode started... I love it!
You should watch the videos of her singing prior to this one as well.
She was also on The Voice kids when she was 12. Check out Nutbrush City Limits and I Feel Good
Like some other performers they have a switch inside that comes one once the music starts or a director calls and action
Thank you Highly 👍. Another great reaction... It would be fun to see you react to Callum Scott, singing Dancing on my own, on Britain's got Talent... Thanks again be safe, and be happy my friend 👍💞👍
She was on a kids show and was great.
Four steps stage right the audience launched to their feet.
2023 Courtney has released new music "Breakable" and "That girl does not live here" available on her youtube channel and Amazon.
She sooo deserved it!
Fantástica 🙌👏👏👏👏👏🇵🇹💐
Her first break was winning The Voice Kids/ UK.
Awesome
If Mick Jagger and Janis Joplin would have had a kid....
Oi tudo bem? Sou aqui do Brasil e sou um grande fã dos seus React e gostaria que você fizesse o React da Courtney Hadwin - Papa's Got A Brand New Bag
She owns everything she sings. Lil Nas and Billy Ray can give it up.
Courtney was so nervous backstage before her performance that she got sick and the show producers moved 2 acts ahead of her to give her some time to compose herself. Here is a video that shows Courtney backstage before and after her performance. ruclips.net/video/bMJZzDzweK4/видео.html
She was on the voice
She was on The Voice prior to this. She was 11, I believe.
Courtney has a bunch of videos of her si inging that are not covered by copyright. This was an 11 year old Courtney one is a school solo Performance
I would love to see you're reaction to Courtney papa brand new bag
She Won Kids Voice Great Britain (I believe)
If i was Courtney's manager.. Nashville would be on the menu.
why have not you did many more reactions on COURTNEY ? you only did 3 reactions on her but you said you are going to do much more ! but your actions does not mach your words ! please do what you said you will ! because i do love you reactions on COURTNEY ! thank you !
Yes first time you will know the song
imagine you were a passer by and suddenly the entire back wall of the building blew out and 30 hair pieces of various styles came sailing out with it......................................
You should check out Courtney doing Britain voice kids doing nutbush city limits. At almost 72 I can’t figure out how to send it to you. Connie
She might have seem to have lost AGT, but in reality she won the world. Saying that where are the rest of the contestants?
Voice
Okay, after the whole AGT thing she did some studio work in Norway I think it was, and she kept a cover track of Love Hurts buried for about a year and a half and then dropped it on a facebook live, like randomly.
She was maybe 14 or 15 at the time she did it. The recording and mix is a little rough but the vocal is some pretty powerful shit. I believe it will blow your mind. Love to watch you react to it.

I've been following you with your blackpink journey. May I suggest the ladies who actually got me into blackpink. Their name is 4th impact, and they auditioned on the Xfactor UK as 4th power. The video is 4th power raise the roof with Jessi J hit.
I really hope you did watch it tot he end, she thought she would get a red buzzer……it even showed on her face when Howie said he couldn’t sign her to a record deal 😢……she thought she was going home 😢
Do merry Xmas the war is over. A totally diffeent courtney!!! You'll love
@HighlyCombustibleReacts : Courtney Hadwin unleashes her original MONSTERS music video at 8pm UK time today. Noon west coast USA. Time2React!

One last thing, HCR . . . We have a Courtney Hadwin Facebook page with over 125K subscribers at which we post many of your reactions. If you don't mind, would you please register to that FB site? We'd be honored to have you - facebook.com/groups/courtneyhadwinsuperfans
Shy ? She was never shy. Watch her on The Voice Kids UK.
No she was on other talent shows at a younger age
Courtney traveled from England for the audition and went on stage expecting to get buzzed off and sent home because they didn't accept the way she performed. She got a lot of hate and backlash for that after her appearance on The voice kids uk. I suspect a lot of her nerves were from having to talk to the judges in front of a large audience before the song, if she'd been able to go on sing her song and leave she would of been a lot more comfortable on the stage.
