Actually, the sound you hear is not the electric motor, its the gears in the quick change rear end that are whining. The electric motors are for the most part silent.
Old grandpa has a chilled facial expression of bringing his grandkids to school in rush hour... ... ... while driving a 900 hp electric car up to the summit in under 10 minutes... unbelievable ;)
Electric cars are silent (relatively), so the alarm is to alert spectators that there is a racecar headed their direction and to get off the track/road/course.
Hey GoPro, u guys should make a way to watch this so the Viewer at home can switch between shots depending which camera angle they like the best as they watch it so each shot is linked ....that will be awesome!
"Go Pro is one of his sponsers and right now I count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 probably 10 Go Pro's on there...... There's probably like 15 Go Pro's on there." Priceless :)
From the F1 website on KERS: There are principally two types of system - battery (electrical) and flywheel (mechanical), although F1 teams have so far all opted for the battery system. Electrical systems use a motor-generator incorporated in the car’s transmission which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa. Once the energy has been harnessed, it is stored in a battery and released when require. So... no electric motors? It says they use one right there... you wrong!
This car is awesome in GT6 0-60 in 2 seconds top speed with default aero setting 171 mph and 186 mph with lowest aero settings. It's very tricky to drive though.
Great video I'm glad he beat his old record from a few years ago I remember when he set it that's awesome and electric motors are killer I love them that's what I run in my scale rc's there very efficient n push tons of torque n high rpms and get up to top speed n snap of a finger just have to have an excellent battery source pushing n holding the right amount of volts amps n discharge rate
Damn, Monster Tajima's over 60 and he's racing at speeds like that? Crazy! With that, yeah I'm definitely gonna try out the Monster Sport E Runner in GT6. Bought it but never tried it yet. :D
Wow! electric power is the way to go. Reminds me of the (regretfully) only time I've been to the US, but then I went up to Mount Evans, it looks rather similar !
Maybe it's so the spectators hear him in the distance, so no one is in the road. I know the car doesn't seem that quiet in the video, but perhaps it was harder to hear from outside?
Dont miss the last curves or fall down for a long way. Great video. Dont see to many commercial for electric cars so far. F1 should nove to electric to give exemple
YESSS......1 peace wheels like on most race cars, the rim can not be separated from a 1 piece wheel unless you use a grinder & plan on hacking them beyond use,
Impressive, electric cars will dominate this mountain one day. He has got a point and squirt type of drive style, always noticed that about him, which means in the right hands this car can go quite a bit faster.
thats what im trying to say, use a lighter form of wheel like they use in nascar where the pit crews have carry them around the car running at full sprint
No, this is what electric motors sound like. For all we know he probably charged this car off the mains, which most likely means coal was used to power it. Are people getting dumber lately?
Will Davis "which most likely means coal was used to power it." 1. Coal isn't use everywhere in the world. Where do you live?? Fact is in most developed countries it takes up 10-20% of their total energy production tops. It's being *phased* out. Pretty obvious since it's getting harder and harder to come by. We're living in 2015 not 1915. 2. Last time I checked nuclear power (which is emissions free) is widespread in developed countries so he more likely charged his car from this energy. 3. The emissions from a coal plant for energy produced is several times more efficient than the equal amount of energy produced from the equivalent number of ICE-cars. In other words you get *less* emissions from *even* a coal plant producing energy than the emissions produced by ICE-cars of an equal power output. And that's not including the cost of transporting the petrol to the stations (with trucks), tanker ships, pipelines, refineries (you can't just use crude oil) etc. But in your one-dimensional flat world it's all the same. Yep. No difference. Who's getting dumber again? Cretin.
I love how they designed every little details of the car's aerodynamic, and then put a bunch of boxy camera on it.
Ikr
It reduces 99% of the aero thanks to that gomediocre cam.
This is where all Gran Turismo's car engine sounds came from...
No
Actually, the sound you hear is not the electric motor, its the gears in the quick change rear end that are whining. The electric motors are for the most part silent.
Nobuhiro Tajima is a living legend. He was over 60 when he did this!
Love how calm and in the zone he looks the whole time
The BEST 9 minutes 46 seconds I've seen in a while. That was Awesome! Thank You and Thanks GoPro!!
I like driving this car on GT6. I've been really getting into electric cars lately.
So your experience with vehicles comes from a video game? That's a sad life.
helen mike And you get off trying to be a smart ass on RUclips? Sounds like you only need to look in the mirror to see sad...
Yea I'm sad that I buy a new car for my wife and I every year. Its an extremely sad life.
helen mike Remind me why I care?...
Hammer Studios Gaming Then you will love to hear that this year this car has 1500hp and 1500nm. :)
Old grandpa has a chilled facial expression of bringing his grandkids to school in rush hour... ... ... while driving a 900 hp electric car up to the summit in under 10 minutes... unbelievable ;)
This would look gorgeous on the streets of New York City...
I love the sound of electro motors!
That sound is amazing!
YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!! go electric!!!!!!! thank you GoPro and Mitsibishi for helping E cars grow!!!!
Proud owner of a gopro
Sounded like a symphony. Beautiful.
the engine noise is so futuristic, LOVE IT
This car's power system sounds great I love its sound more than I do than the Audi Quattros, this is the future for racing
Amazing follow up video to tajimas last go pro video, best of luck to tajima to break his new record next year
Electric cars are silent (relatively), so the alarm is to alert spectators that there is a racecar headed their direction and to get off the track/road/course.
Well, Tajima definitely has a unique voice... Also, that car is crazy fast! I do prefer the scream of a conventional motor though
That car screams like a banshee.
I love it.
Im so happy for him. What a great guy
I've been waiting for this for a long time.
Not only a wet track, but one full of gravel and drop-offs. Takes BALLS!
What a dude!
That sound reminds me to StarWars (in a positive way!) =)
Hey GoPro, u guys should make a way to watch this so the Viewer at home can switch between shots depending which camera angle they like the best as they watch it so each shot is linked ....that will be awesome!
I am glad for him. He is real man.
Where can I buy this car?
"Go Pro is one of his sponsers and right now I count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 probably 10 Go Pro's on there...... There's probably like 15 Go Pro's on there." Priceless :)

It's very tricky to drive though.
easy to drive with a wheel controller, though.
That's the best sounding car ever!! A million percent better than any old fashioned combustion dinosaur! Great video GoPro
Its so fun living in CO,Springs And watching the hill climb but i havent been for past 3 years
It's cool to see this guy trying something different, not many people run in electric cars
Sounds like the coolest RC car ever, I want
That's a freaking dangerous road to be speeding on.
Wow, It's Captain Obvious ! ;)
Damn, Monster Tajima's over 60 and he's racing at speeds like that? Crazy!
With that, yeah I'm definitely gonna try out the Monster Sport E Runner in GT6. Bought it but never tried it yet. :D
They've finally done it. An electric car that sounds good!
Would love to see the pikes peak time of this early electric racer in dry conditions.
Wow! electric power is the way to go.
Some day I knew we'd have scaled up rc cars we could drive. This is it finally, now if only quick charge or had range ;D
Omedetou Tajima!!
Love that sound! AMAZING!
I wish my grandpa could drive like that. Wow!
love how it switched cameras when the announcers counted all the gopros haha
Dont miss the last curves or fall down for a long way. Great video. Dont see to many commercial for electric cars so far. F1 should nove to electric to give exemple
I'm thinking the car alarm is going off for spectators to hear when he's headed up and get out the way...?
YESSS......1 peace wheels like on most race cars, the rim can not be separated from a 1 piece wheel unless you use a grinder & plan on hacking them beyond use,
look at the timer. the 100th or a second part is off, it only counts to 29 and then restarts
Hey gopro thank you for the app update
Wow, those spectators are brave
The camera batteries lasted that long!!!! WOW
@cole Thanks for clearing that up :)
that acceleration is melodic
That looks amazing
Monster car, monster driver!!
That's actually so the spectators can hear the car coming, since the electric cars are basically silent.
Impressive, electric cars will dominate this mountain one day. He has got a point and squirt type of drive style, always noticed that about him, which means in the right hands this car can go quite a bit faster.
The electric engine sounds really cool :D It reminds me of the Bat Bike from the Dark Knight
Keiichi Tsuchiya proved that years ago.
Yes it is
Live in Japan, thanks to tajima I have a suzuki swift with a very powerful engine.
for moster sport
There isn't gears in electric cars, the output shaft just spins faster and faster.
......I wonder how much drag & weight all those cameras added.....
Amazing car
Great job man!! Wow awesome
I kinda prefer this over the Mercedes SLS Electric car, at least this one looks faster and creates a sound.
Is the timer in the bottom right fake? The 10th and 100ths place of the timer doesn't make sense.
dat acceleration!! electricmotor torque ftw!
Driving legend
AND WHERE IS THE GOPRO WHICH SHOW THE SPPED AND ACCELERATION?? =(
Actually i would ask how close do people get to the track.
I would like to see the telemetry on this car.
How close are people standing next to the track? That's some sick shit!
how can he see? his eyes are almost closed the whole time
How close does he get to the people? Holy shit!
thats what im trying to say, use a lighter form of wheel like they use in nascar where the pit crews have carry them around the car running at full sprint
Are you running castle ESC in that thing? XD Man its fast!!
this is what renewable energy sounds like :)
No, this is what electric motors sound like. For all we know he probably charged this car off the mains, which most likely means coal was used to power it.

I think the sound should warn the people along the street cause the a car at itself isnt that loud....
Wow duracel must make some big ass batteries these days
No gear shifting? that thing is incredibly fast..
Would have been so much better with race telemetry! Eg. Speed, gear changes, split times.
That is the framecount
Hey, those 100ths don't want to cooperate, do they?
big fan of this man!! a living legend, however, Loeb´s Run was fucking amazing as well..
sounds like he is fast forwarding through the whole thing
I wouldn't be able to drive for very long. The sound would put me to sleep lol.
That wailing engine sound
I want one of those motors for my golf cart
I love how the car alarm was going off the entire run! Lmfao! xDD
That's not a car alarm its a Siren so they know he's coming
The car is making a siren noise so he could definitely hear it.
I bet its quiet from the outside so its to let fans know hes commin'!
Does anybody know if the cameras affect the down force a great deal?
Future sound... we are really going to look like the Jetsons haha!
Looks and sounds like something George Jetson would drive from the view of the camera on the roof facing forward. :D
How many hp he lost at the top? :D
Um, zero? Don't you know anything about electric cars? They don't lose HP at altitude.
Will Davis Mr. Tajima said it himself. Near the end, the batteries were nearly drained because racecar.
You could only found that mach power in a electric car!
Electric cars are fantastic!
Nobuhiro Tajima is a living legend. He was over 60 when he did this!
I do agree!
With the cost of fuel, I wish this would come sooner rather than layer. Sick of the fuel industry and the cartels
