I practice Parkour, and in a lot of movements I get very uncomfortable/scared/confused, and doing that breakdown and individual part practice really helps! Absolutely solid advice!
Muscle memory be damned, attempting all those individuals movements simultaneously looks astounding, I could never. Another great video! Awesome work yeotori!
@Nikothegreatish It's how I feel about rhythm games!!... Paying attention to all the things going on the screen at the same time... 💦💦. Thank you for watching!!
This is pretty much exactly how I was always taught to learn hard pieces on violin too! Break it up into constituent parts, commit each part to muscle memory, and then slow down as you reconfigure them all together. Makes sense that it would be even more useful for dance, since there's more muscles that need memory made for them! If that even makes sense... Great video as always, and congrats on the original choreo opportunity!
Amazing video, muscle memory has been so helpful even outside of music. Saved me so much during competitions. Unsure how good of a dance the song could make but Machine Love by Jamie Paige is amazing
I’m so glad you talked about getting stuck on dances since I do that a lot >_< Project SEKAI dances (especially VBS and WxS) are sometimes really difficult and complicated (they’re addictive though, so I keep trying my best). It’s good to know there are others who are stuck alongside me ( ^ω^ ) Thank you as always! By the way good luck and congrats on your choreo for the vtuber~!
I appreciate the frequent uploads! I know you said you didn't expect to blow up, but your quality to quantity has been a pretty balance. Even if you go a bit off script and just do what you want to do, it's still very entertaining. Keep up the good work.
You've gotta love it when stuff seems doable at first, till that one thing gets the drop on you :D That was a great short and sweet filler episode! The editing was excellent as always and really went hand in hand with your explanations. Awesome work, Editor-nim! Really exited for your next choreo!! Also, keep on grinding in Project Sekai, it will only get easier :)
Great vid, I'd love to see more like this! My personal favorite dance from pjsk is from my love is hellfire. Good luck with the pjsk addiction, hope you get better!
When I played piano a lot for concerts and stuff, muscle memory definitely carried me 😂 Also, not sure if this song is your style but... dance to the intro of Dan Da Dan?
Hm... Dan Da Dan opening is doable for me. I don't do very much hiphop, but early days of Kpop were a lot more house and even small amounts of locking which could fit the song well. I think hiphop would be the expected style though! ( ̄个 ̄)
@ Oh I see! Yeah I definitely see hip-hop/break dancing being the style of dance. It's up to you tho :] I just thought of it since I haven't seen that many full dance covers for it
I don't full on "dance" right now, but I do have little parts I do for certain songs, just with my hands. Two examples are the chorus of Pamela by Keina Suda, and Reason by Twinfield. It's something I came up with on the spot and it's basically muscle memory now. This is how I've learned dances in the past, though I can hardly do any of them now.
So what I am getting from your explanation is that the move is difficult due to the layers involved. Or kind of like trying to multi-task while coordinating those tasks. I guess it would be like trying to write two different things with your left and right hand :P
@neurofiedyamato8763 That's one way to see it!! I think there's just some movements more difficult or unnatural for others. Like... Try walking and pointing with both your hands at directions. Either up, down, left, or right! Now, every time you point at a direction make sure to look at the opposite direction with your head! Something like this is hard for some as you speed it up, for others it's easy. (*´ ∇ `)ノ..
While listening to your explanation of dance, my perspective on watching dance has changed! Although dynamic movements and quick movements are certainly difficult… I think I’ve come to understand the difficulty of having different parts of the body move separately. From now on, I will have even more respect for dancers’ technical skills! Thaaaaanksss!!!😆

came here for a new Yeotori rant. I came to the right place
I say a bunch of things!! ( ◦˘︶˘◦)
As a pianist, learning a song by breaking down the pieces and mastering thought muscle memory are essential.
This. I just got my piano back today i cant wait to see how bad i became over the last 4 years lol
Muscle memory be damned, attempting all those individuals movements simultaneously looks astounding, I could never.

I am here 😭 got a bit late
anatasia reference!!
@draconicdemon2 Anatasia was one of the first from JP side of dance I saw after leaving KIdol side of things!! ❤️
PLEASE do the newly edgy idols dance
... Does clapping your own head while making circles on own stomach with other hand count as dancing?
