Been doing the same for years. Works like a charm
Awesome, nice to hear it
Can I shadow you to see how to slow travel I will treat you to meals every week and will not bother you. I will stay some where close to you so if I have questions on how to travel through Asia. Thanks Meet you for lunch a couple of times a week my treat. Thanks again/
Thank u. I would like to ask how do the hosts on airbnb provide the discounts directly to you though? Promo code?
Curious about this too. How do you end up booking at the negotiated rate as the app will still show the listed price.
They send the offer through airbnb and everything is through the website
also , using an iPhone is more expensive in search prices compared to android apps
Ben,
Get yourself a motorcycle.
Travel around the country.
Pickup the local lingo.
Stay safe.
Smart method. Glad you shared the knowledge
Thanks mate
SUBSCRIBED a while ago! Hi Ben, I enjoy your videos and appreciate your wise advice as I plan my 2025 trip to Malaysia. You project good vibes. Thank you for your great research. Doug
Wonderful, thanks for subscribing and following along.
See your still smashing it mr fisherman proud oh you great informative content as always
Thanks brother!!
Speaking from the house owners point of view, I would certainly want my unit to be occupied, even if it is at 50% discount. Most of the operators have around 30%-40% occupancy rate to breakeven. So, they will happily do it for a 40%-50% discount as long as their unit is occupied.
Thank u. I would like to ask how do the hosts on airbnb provide the discounts directly to potential guests though? Promo code?
@@Yamoukawchowa no they send a offer through Airbnb that the tenant can accept
Yea completely true, most people are happy just to get it rented, especially if they’ve gone some days with it vacant!
@@RafDaily1 @benfishermin Appreciate the replies and tips! Thank you
Then do you still book via the website? You get the lower price offered on screen or is this transaction outside the web agency, the establishment saving on the agency fees?
They send the offer through airbnb. I used to offer cash for a lower price but eventually someone will report you and then you’ll get banned, so better to do it always through the website.
best video ever. tq
You’re welcome 😀
Reminds me of a time i was walking in Chiang Mai on the main road into town and a Tuk Tuk driver pulled over and wanted to give me a ride. I said how much and he said 100 Baht. It was only about a mile ride. I said no thanks and i kept walking. He drove off and parked ahead of me and he said now he would take me for 80 Baht. I politely said no thanks once again and he got pretty mad. Then he said 20 Baht and i said Ok 20 Baht sounds good. So instead of driving down that street and getting nothing he still got something. So this is really the same thing that you are talking about with your AirBNB's ...its better for them to get something than nothing
Congrats on saving 80 baht
@@RJ-6615 O yea thx mate ! I had a nice Lunch with that 60 Baht i saved
Pointless story
@@Kix-wv9hb my thoughts as well
@@Kix-wv9hb so are you
Wonderful insights for room bookings.
I'm glad you got some value from it!
@@benfishermin Thank you. 😀
Great idea ben..gotta try this next time. Whats the duration of stay that you recommend works best for this hack? 5-7 days? Or longer works too?
5-7 days is ideal and for monthly stays I shoot for a lower discount like 30% off
OMG you're NOT walking ! It's a miracle !
Haha, changing it up!
Get yourself a "Tiger" balm from one of those KKmart or some groceries. Mosquitoes hate that.. worked for me.😂
Does this tactic for airbnb work just as well for longer term (monthly) stays as well as shorter term (weekly) stays?
For longer stays I go for a lesser discount of 30% or so
nice tip Ben, never thought about it, will definately try to bargain 😁
Yes definitely give it a try!
Hey Ben, thanks for the tips.I will try it very soon😊
This is exactly what I needed! I remember they used to give 30% off to new users but they stopped. Will let you know how this works out for me. 🔥🔥🔥
Ah wow a new user discount would be nice. I feel like so many companies did this for a while, until they realized people would make new accounts repeatedly, and maybe use prepaid credit cards and phone numbers to get around things. 😅
Good advice thanks Ben.
You're very welcome
Thanks for the booking tips Ben. They will come in handy!
Awesome, no problem
Will this work for monthly too?
Nice one, Ben. Thanks!
No problem 😀
can you do it on video
nice tips
Thank you for these tips and tricks, Ben :)
No problem!
Catching up on your videos... #4 tonight
Sweet! Many more to go 😀😅
Ben your t shirt 👕 looks nice 😅
Thank you 😀😀 it’s from MISBHV
Hi Ben air B&B book for the entire month a up up to 40% off every time don’t need to contact the owner it’s a in app discount
@@rogermanifold8615 only for 28+days not for a few days. Sometimes a smaller discount for 7+days. I don't think Ben books for a month anywhere yet. I prefer to check the apartment ok before booking a month. Rock beds are for the Flinstones not for me!
Yea this is for a discount on top of the discount 😀 but for monthly stays I just ask for around 30% less, especially if it already has a big discount for monthly
Mantap.. keep it up bro 👍🏼💪🏼
Thank you 😀😀
Haha won't be rare after today.
Haha 😂
Thank you for uploading another helpful video! Can you please do a video on couple of hotel in KL too. It will help us to choose hotel while we travel to Malaysia. Thank you , best wishes for you and your channel.
Hi, If the owner excepts your offer, how do you pay? Direct to the owner?
They will send the offer through airbnb and you pay there
Good advice. Was in KL and Singapore last week and mostly book accommodation at the last moment. Have noticed with Agoda the price jumps around some, but towards the end of the day it holds firm until say after eight at night. So would be interesting to use your technique to see what the movement in price. Booked a flight through Agoda last week because Google flights was showing a fifty dollar discount. Agoda said the ticket would be sent to me which it wasn't so went to the Air Asia Live chat to find it which I did, but it was a frustrating process :)
I hope you can use this to get some discounts in the future!
Your method of contacting the host and inspecting premises for long stays works well too. I have used it in bali and chiangmai. Usually get 50% discount on the full airbnb price.
How long before do you usually contact the airbnb owners ? 1 week in advance ?
@@magicfire1 usually within a day or 2 of travel. I look for those places which are vacant in the upckming few days. Figure the owners would rather fill the place at a discount rate than nothing at all.
@@noelgokel514 100%. It makes totally sense. Do you usually stay for a few days or month by month. Could even ask bigger discount for longer stay.
@@magicfire1 yes can get up to 50% discount.
@@noelgokel514 many thanks. Will see if 1 week advance is also working as i'm gonna travel with my parents
Lots of mosquitoes huh?
Yea definitely 😅
Thanks good video keep it up with the tips on travel.
Well, I am not going to risk ruining a typically long vacation by waiting to the last minute to book a place. What if all the nice places are gone for those dates? Frankly, if you don't have the money stay home.
It also works doing it ahead of time, but I'd go for less of a discount, not half price. In the end there's nothing to lose by negotiating the price, since you can still book the room at full price if they decline.
"Frankly, if you don't have the money stay home." - It's not really about having the money or not, you'd negotiate the price of anything else so it only makes sense to do it here as well. Some people are also on a tight budget, so if there's a way to make it work then why should they stay home?
Cheap Charlie don't have that app, bolt or grab. Spectrum my dudes.
Hm it’s a ride share app? I gotta check it out
Suggest to use insect repellent
I haven’t been able to find any in Malaysia that aren’t full of really toxic chemicals 😩
No wonder my airbnb condo’s business is so bloody staggeringly good it’s a nuisance full of cheapskate whatever kinda guests staying here 😢
