What do you find most terrifying about the Umbral Realm?
Probably the fact that all beings across all worlds are being watched at all times by a ceaselessly hungering god.
She will feed.
To me, it's the inevitability of its grip over Axiom. At no point during the game's events are we given an idea of how to stop the approaching threat of the Putrid Mother and the Umbral Realm. At best in the Radiance and Infernal endings, we just ignore it in favor of our chosen god, but neither Orius or Adyr seem to have any solution to the problem. Their respective reigns seem to only delay what seems to be an unstoppable force that, whether it'll be in the present or future, WILL consume the world and all who live in it, mortal and god alike. To thwart it is like trying to thwart the concept of death itself. No matter what powerful hero might arise in Axoim's future, stopping the Putrid Mother's approach just seems impossible.
So happy you’re still covering this game. Instant like from me.
The worldbuilding and lore of this game are phenomenal, hope to cover some more topics in the future
@@TheLorebrarians To tell the truth I’d skipped this game early on, due to the mid reviews, but after finding your videos on the lore and a play-through with Fighting Cowboy, I bought it and realized how wrong I was to try skip it. Thank you.
Been a fan of the channel ever since.
I am so glad to see the umbral covered. It was really the silent puppeteer in the background. I like to think that the umbral lamp Harkyn bears somehow influenced him to give the cleric the rune of Adyr, which becomes a crucial part of umbral’s plan to enter the mortal realm (and ironically the way to kill the immortal Harkyn and collect his parasite). I wonder just how much of the events axiom witnessed were influenced by the putrid mother.
So Lahn Gerysh is basically the Abdul Alhazred of LOTF?
They really went crazy with the art direction in Umbra
Please make more of these. This game has such rich lore.
Even with my speakers on full, I can barely hear your videos.
Love the content.
Appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoy
Lods of the Fallen needs more attention! Great video
Appreciate it, and I agree! A great game with rich lore
This lore series made me love this channel even more. Hopefully DLC will come and you guys can cover it!
DLC would be awesome!
Lords of the Fallen lore goes so hard! Thank you!! This game deserves better 🥺🥺
Glad you enjoy, and I agree! The lore and world they created is amazing
AGREED!
Just released on gamepass a few days ago and here I am diving deep into the lore. Thanks a bunch!
Babe wake up, he posted again
I am glad to see you’re continuing with the lore of LOTF I was worried I’d have to go read every item lol
for why umbral magic seems to require both radiance and inferno, a few item descriptions as well as molhu reference returning creation to a "natural state" and returning it to the void, so it may be that the gods and their magic (as well as axiom) are fractures of the one complete and homogenous whole that is umbral. The Putrid mother’s indiscriminate embrace makes a lot of sense too.
I managed to find out what happened to the Nohuta. According to the Putrid Polearm item description, they were genocided by the hallowed sentinels, likely when they first invaded Mournstead.
If the Putrid Mother is death personified, how do you kill death? Death is the fate of all things. The ultimate truht, that none can escape.
As for ideas to destroy the Putrid Mother, have we tried building a giant robot?
The gods in LOTF are invulnerable to death, and the only way to ‘kill’ them is to consume them with umbral. The putrid mother is probably immune to that, though.
@@Sometuy11A So what you're saying is that building a giant robot hasn't been tried yet.
@@Edrobot7 essentially.
Aww yis, Lords of the Fallen content! Gimme
Thank you for the new video about lotf!
The magic requiring both inf and rad is not clear to me. The theory about equality, as Mother accepts all is cool, but if we connect it to Nohuta imprisoning their fellow citizen for learning Inferno magic it falls apart a bit. But maybe it was just Nohuta's rules. So for me it's either Umbral magic is superior and requires both talents, or dev's just decide it to be in this way, in order to avoid adding one more stat for character.
As always, great video, thanks again!
That's great insight! I do like the theory that Putrid Mother is superior/accepting of all for the inf and rad requirements
Any more knowledge on Mennacilday? (if I’m spelling it right) I was unable to find anything online about that god. Referenced at 28:53
Menasilde is the goddess of the moon and patron deity of Wolusia. Lore bits can be found in the shield of the moonlit emissary and a rhogar sorcery (can't remember which off the top of my head)
@@TheLorebrarians Thank you!!
Okay here's the deal bud; you keep posting lore vids and imma keep listening to it at least 4 to 5 times in the same week as a sleep aid, then another 1 or 2 times to actually get the info so I can steal lore ideas for my d&d game, sound good? Good
This video game doesn’t deserve you ❤❤❤ I absolutely think the amount of views is astonishingly low for the quality of videos you provide.
Yay
if only the game was as good as the lore and story
