I'm born in 2000, but I grew up with cartoons from the 80s. Now I'm 16 and 21 Jump Street is my favorite tv show. Too bad I didn't live back then, 80s was such a great decade!

Automan, V, Werewolf, Punky Brewster, just to name a few. Man. Such wonder, emotion, originality, heart, adventure. Man, I miss it. Before I really knew how cruel and ugly the real world was and is. My favorite time for TV, movies, music, comic books, toys, video games. Thank you for this.

@@MrBJG79 Actually the Simpsons started in Dec. '89, not counting their short appearances during the Tracey Ullman show that go back to '87. (Quantum Leap was included here, and that didn't start till '89.) On the other hand, I wouldn't exactly call all of the shows in the original comment "gems" (Just the Ten of Us? You Can't Do That on Television? Those TV show names aren't even familiar, at least to me)....

Okay, I'm astonished at the number of cartoon shows. It seems they make up almost 50 percent. That's really surprising. I'm not a cartoon person, but if I had to guess, I would've said cartoons wood make up 5-10 percent at the most. Thanks for the list!

They should've done two separate vids, one for kids shows (cartoons or otherwise), and the other for "real" (primetime) shows.

Where's Star Trek: The Next Generation? (Ran 1987-94) My wife would kill me if I didn't mention that... ;) Also, Newhart (82-90), TJ Hooker (82-86), Hunter (84-91), Remington Steele (82-87), St. Elsewhere (82-88), Diff'rent Strokes (78-86), and just barely making it to the 80's starting line, Seinfeld (89-98) and Doogie Howser (89-93)--regarding the last two, note that Quantum Leap was included here and that didn't start till '89.

I'm from eastern Massachusetts and would be inclined to agree, but it went downhill a little when Nicolas Colasanto died and especially when Shelley Long left. (Woody Harrelson was good, and Kirstie Alley was OK, but...)
