  • Today's video will cover the Porsche 911 964 Cabriolet's top operations and emergency procedures if you ever get stuck with the top down. I love driving a cab in California weather, but sometimes these instructions are not so apparent. These cabs are known to have many issues due to having many moving parts. We commonly have issues with failing lock motors, rear top motors, microswitches, worn fabric, failing arms, and out-of-sync motors. Hopefully, this video will give you an introduction to the 964 cab. This also applies to the 993 cab.

The 964 Cab top is a sensitive thing. I just got my servos replaced. While the deck was opening one of the servos broke (after 31 years) and the whole linkage bent and had to be replaced. All in all 3,5k $. Please continue posting tips&tricks videos for the 964. Go/show details while working because thats what we 964 junkies really appreciate ;) Cheers.

Thank you! The thought of converting it to manual open and close has crossed my mind a couple times, but having that button on a 30 year old car also seems pretty cool to me. Im working on a video on how to remove the cab top next. These videos take days to edit haha. Working on the car is the fun and easy part. These Porsches cost an arm and a leg, but we still love them.

Looks like it is the sun roof button, which makes sense. It took me a while to find that button too.

I was used to my 993 sunroof button being in the lower center console area. I looked everywhere. haha and this button doesn’t have any markings on it too, but yes you are right the 964 has its sunroof button in this location too. I still have a lot to learn on these 964s. Thanks!
