The master system was great for Disney games. This along with land of illusion , Donald Duck lucky dime caper, deep duck trouble, even Aladdin was its own version and quite good.

    • @OdaVenom
      @OdaVenom 4 года назад

I played Lucky Dime Caper, and although visually it was better than any Disney license on NES, in my opinion it lacks that addictive simplicity in a core mechanics like, for example, Darkwing Duck or Rescue Rangers had.

Ironically that's why Sega decided to back port Mega Drive games to the SMS and if you had the Master deck adapter so your could buy cheaper Master system games on the Mega drive. Some still require you have the SMS controler to connect to the Mega drive

But basically only in the United States.
I grew up with the NES the SNES and the Genesis I wouldn't find out until decades later there was something that preceded the Genesis.
But I also would find out that it was much more popular in Brazil, South America in general definitely Europe and especially the UK.
I realized the world was a much bigger place and my experience was somewhat tainted and tilted because the Master system never stood a chance here in the US.

He had a Passion for Shumps and Platform games. He owns all the classic consoles upto Saturn ,he Tried a Ps1, but it wasn't for him.
He owns alot of rare original Boxed Complete games as well that we still play every time I go round and we breeze through the 16 bit Version of Castle of Illusion just about every time. We both prefer this version and the Brilliant Land of Illusion, both are slightly more Challenging than the 16 bit Castle of Illusion.

To be honest when I think of Castle Of Illusion, I think of the Game Gear version. It was the main version I’m aware of.

    One of my childhood favorites
that I loved on The Sega Game Gear
from back in 1991, I never played
    The Sega Genesis Version
from back in 1990 but have
heard of it and then did
play it where I have both
    versions on my Laptop Computer
as part of my Emulator Collections
    since 2007 also...!!! (Very True
    Story Facts!!!) 😎🎮👍🏻👍🏻

I always felt the 8 bit Illusion games were the better ones, personally. As SLX says, when Sega made a true version (rather than a watered down port), the results were excellent. It's worth mentioning Quackshot and Lucky Dime Caper too for being both excellent and yet nothing alike.

So surprised at how bright and colorful this game is. Sega does it A-GAIN!!! Good review once again SLX! Don't you miss the days of gaming without responsibilities?

SMS version is great. Solid controls, plenty of secrets, great animation and amazing SPG music.

This game looks awesome! And both versions are different like Sonic? Wow!
If you haven't played World of Illusion on the Genesis, I'd highly recommend it. Everyone talks about Castle of Illusion, but World of Illusion is an overlooked hidden gem, IMO!
(also there's a good chance that you have played it AND talked about it -- but I try to name drop it every chance I get! haha)

I had this on GG too and I remember loving it except for that auto scroll stage with the cookies. That frustrated me no end until I memorised everything.

I vaguely remember this on my gamegear but this video just reminded me how much I hated those auto scrolling levels in platformers, auto scrolling comes in second to underwater levels for me for my hatred of them.

Loved this game, I was so pumped for Lucky Dime Capers release after finishing this countless times... I was gutted that my copy of LDC couldn't be finished due to a lockup bug on the last level though ... strange for Segas quality control to miss something like that back then.
I did play the Genesis game later and thought that was great too, but probably due to nostalgia I've always preferred this 8 bit version :)
