- A very emotional piece from FFXV Episode Ardyn's main menu. Seeing Ardyn and at peace, brings this sadness as they never were able to be with each other as they hoped and rather were dealt the darkest hands.

Looking at the new screen, I like to imagine that just like Noct reunites with Luna in the afterlife, Ardyn gets to see Aera once more after getting freed from his curse :')

i love the fact that this is the second main menu theme for his campaign. really hammers in the fact that he is a victim of bahamut. you go into this dlc knowing hes evil but you leave feeling sorry for him. it really sucks that the planned dlc isn't going to be released, i would have loved to have seen ardyn and noctis defy the fates they've been given just like how ff13 was about defying fates created by gods.
After that final scene with Bahamut, this picture hit my heart so bad that I didn't dare to press any button and just hear the music, seeing Ardyn and Aera, wishing that if there's some afterlife in Eos, they could meet again and have the peace he, most than anyone, deserved.
Yeah why he takes aera to stab him 100 times ? So that he breaks lol why?? Which god would do that

This DLC was the only one that made me cry. Man I feel so bad for Ardyn.

and the cut Ardyn redemption DLC that got turned into a book is a downright criminal.
i love this game. it had issues, but its one of my favorite games of all time.

I can 100% say with all of my heart that I believe Ardyn wouldn’t have been the villain if the Astrals didn’t use him. The Astrals could grant the chosen king power, so why couldn’t they purge the starscourge themselves if they wanted it gone so much? Ardyn is a perfect example of an innocent person corrupted by higher beings. He just wanted to do good for the world, and the Astrals took advantage of that.
He's another victim, just like Sephiroth

I felt the same way when you realize that the Astrals grant the power to the Oracles to remove the starscourge from people, like Lunafreya. Bahamut could have sent an Oracle to heal Ardyn if they wanted to, but choose to let him suffer.
almost everyone in FFXV is a victim. It's played on a greek tragedy if I'm correct
This song needs to be included in future Distant Worlds concerts! It's so moving and tragically emotional!
Am I crying because this game could have been soo much better? Maybe. Am I crying because this was the fucking most tragic story I've ever played through? Maybe. Am I crying because Bahamut is a dick? Maybe. Am I crying because every. single. one. of these characters deserved better? Yeah probably. Am I crying because Ardyn deserves the world? YEAH THATS PROBABLY THE REASON YEAH.
Ardyn is my favourite bad guy of all time, and I absolutely love his story and lore. This OST is beautiful. Love this song, it's incredible.

Okay so I was in tears near the end of the episode, right? And then after the credits, returning to the title screen to be greeted with THIS...
I fucking lost it. I bawled, cursing Square's name, for 10 straight minutes.
And you can bet your ass I'm about to cry right fucking now. I haven't felt so attached to a character in YEARS.
Ardyn is the best of the game and I would say the DLC is made with so much love. You can say it just looking this second main screen: it wasn't necessary, no one ever imagined it, but at the moment it shows, it's just so meaningful...
Such a beautiful song to end a long journey 😄

am i the only one pissed off that the dlc gets the option to change the title screen background, but we still cant choose the Night background with the Somnus theme in the main title screen?
That's actually a fair point.
I really want to change it to Somnus again, simply because i always start crying when I hear noctis theme in combination with seeing the after game title screen lol
Naw... i like the way they did it. The Lucian line was cursed from the start!!! Now their line is over..and the curse broken...now there can be day light
This DLC was awesome and my only complaint is that it wasn't longer. I really do wish we got the other 3 DLC episodes, especially the one for Aranea.
This game did not come to life fully until I played his story.

All the previous kings of lucis got the throne... the two that never got to enjoy it were Ardyn and Noctis

Ah, such a wonderful theme. I suppose I didn't get to enjoy this considering the fun I had rampaging Insomnia. Oh the stories to be told by this image and the image a button away.

Did anyone notice that the melody of this song is strangely similar to the main theme of Final Fantasy 1, just a softer version?
I am curious if there is any meaning behind the new main screen, such as is Ardyn dreaming, he reunited with Aera after his death or a gesture from the developers.
I think they just want us crying haha... As someone else says here, you open the dlc knowing Ardyn as this ambiguous character full of hate, sit in the throne of Lucis. And after the DLC you know the real Ardyn, you know his tragedy... and this main screen is the real Ardyn, not the one full of hate, not the maniatic one, but this one, full of love, compassion and just wanting peace. And after knowing that the very gods themselves denied him the opportunity of a life in peace, this picture is perfect, because it makes us desire this life for Ardyn, at least in the afterlife if that exists.
@@teizahui That is a good explanation, I too want Ardyn to be reunited with Aera and hoped that happened in the end. There is concern whether or not Ardyn is alive and was allowed to pass on in the main game's ending.
@@mskiara18 I think he did, that was redemption and the light of providence that Noctis bestowed upon him. Both of them got shattered in the same way in the Beyond (Noctis and Ardyn) and we got Noctis with Luna in the afterlife so Ardyn must be with Aera too now that all the demons were purged form him.
I knew that Ardyn was a good guy, but betrayed and confused.... Read the book ;-)
