    Thank you for this. I first heard Susan Heck on a Justin Peters interview. I did some of her bible studies on her webpage and have one of her books. I became reformed in the past couple of years after years of wrong teaching. My testimony is in several ways similar of Susan's.

      Thank you. I was a cradle Catholic who became a false Christian (because I didn't know truth) who moved on to WOF (also deceived) until I was genuinely saved in 2013 and am now reformed. It was a long road of false and incorrect teachings for many years in evangelical churches that did not teach truth.

    • @tulipsandhoney8187
      @tulipsandhoney8187  4 года назад +4

      Yes, absolutely. I'm going to add some links to a few articles that will help. It's a concern, I wouldn't say that she's a false teacher or even say she's like Beth Moore. But I can't recommend her any longer. That being said, most of her old teachings were Biblically sound, it wasn't until she started connecting with Moore and others like her that she started saying some concerning things. And it's all so recent, a lot of folks haven't heard about it. We talk a little about that in our #OkLadies episode.

      My wife had good experiences with Beth Moore and Joyce Meyer like 5-10 years ago, and hasn’t kept up with them since, but still has very positive memories of them. Have they changed over the years where maybe they used to have sound theology but then it turned?? My wife is a very reasonable person and just hasn’t personally seen the bad stuff from them yet.

    What is your opinion of the head covering movement?

    • @tulipsandhoney8187
      @tulipsandhoney8187  3 года назад +1

      Hello Dee! That’s a great question! I’ve enjoyed learning about the topic, and appreciate both sides as they seek to honor Scripture for the glory of God. I don’t personally head cover, I’m not convinced that it’s sinful not to do so. However, if someone were to feel convicted by it then it would be sinful for them not to head cover. I hope this helps! I’m going to add this question to the MEGA list this Friday.

    • @dee4174
      @dee4174 3 года назад +2

      @@tulipsandhoney8187 Thank you. I was convinced to cover many years ago, but actively discouraged from doing so by the leaders of my then church, which was lead by a woman pastor, as they didnt want it to 'catch on'. I am sometimes lead to cover during deep intercession and prayer. I dont understand why it should be an issue either way.

    what is the "reformed movement"? is it a denomination? part of a denomination?

    • @tulipsandhoney8187
      @tulipsandhoney8187  3 года назад

      Great question, Katie! It’s a theological distinction, there are Reformed Baptists, Presbies, Lutherans, and even Reformed Charismatics. Being Reformed means you hold to specific doctrines laid down by the Reformers during the Reformation. To over simplify it, we hold to the Doctrines of Grace, the 5 Solas, and T.U.L.I.P. There’s a lot more to it, and there are differences depending on the denominations, such as infant baptism, but the core beliefs remain the same. 😃❤️ Hope that helps.

    I think you guys should introspect on the aspect of head covering. In a church setting it is considered a shame if a woman prays with her head uncovered, so cannot be taken as a cultural thing. At home with our families it is fine but when we gather together if the bible demands it, I think we should be doing it

    • @oldblackstock2499
      @oldblackstock2499 3 года назад

      If your talking about a hat or bonnet, head scarf etc, the Bible doesn't demand it. 1st Corinthians 11 the context is only speaking of the hair of both men and women. A woman's hair is her covering. Where as a man should not have long hair as a woman does. In my opinion (just my opinion) shaving the head is extreme in the other direction.

    There needs to be more caution about leaving a church because a pastor won't do what u feel he should, especially with disputable matters. There are groups claiming other groups are cults or sects because they don't agree with each other's doctrine. That is fear-laden and you could end up being wrong, which would result in you fighting Our Abba, walking the wrong path and turning others from the Way.
    Expressing your concerns is necessary and good. Leaving a church because the pastor does not see a disputable matter in the same manner you do, shows a lack of humility. If the pastor teaches and lives truth as found in Scripture, there should be more trust and gratitude in his leadership, and more faith that Our Abba will protect and provide for your Spiritual needs.
